Dying Light (Mirror's Edge meets Dead Island)

Not sure why it bothers me so much, but nobody would hold a bat like that. Or just in general, with all the weapons, holding them out, upright with one hand like a videogame character just looks so funny to me. I don't know, lol.

Is it me or is the game waaay too damn dark to see anything in the night segments?

I've played dead island it was fun but to be honest first person action melee combat games feel intrinsically flawed to me.
I find it kind of fun for a few hours and I can somewhat see the wacky appeal it has for multiplayer games but I just can't stand the mechanic for the grindfest that the lootgame dead island was.I don't like how judging the correct distance in first person is so hard and I haven't played a game yet that made the hitting feedback feel really satisfying.
That said it was a cool demonstration, the visual upgrade to dead island is pretty notable. I also like the slogan, it's catchy, "good night, good luck".
Reminds me of how I was taken by the dark souls slogan "prepare to die". -
did someone say Mirror's edge?have to check it out.

I was a little underwhelmed by the first segment.
It's pretty. Very pretty.
And I dunno what it is… but the now commonplace gameplay of whacking zombies needs to come up with some new tricks. I like the idea of free-running through a zombie infested hot-zone. But the ghouls are becoming too commonplace for me... where's the terror? Where's the fear? I'll get to the night section in a moment... but come on... these are ZOMBIES! Charging through an alleyway only to come to a overpass filled with a hoard... then going hulk on them as you're surrounded.... should be curtains. If you ask me...
Don't get me wrong... defending yourself should always be an option. But I think there should be some urgency. Which this game has potential for... but getting surrounded and standing your ground should be the LAST thing you'd want to do... and I feel a game like this should punish that idea. The option of being so nimble should push the idea of discretion. To which i'm sure someone would reply to me "But gekko, the character IS in a hurry... why are you nitpicking?"
I dunno... I really don't have the answer for that. That's just what went through my mind as I watched this.
Anyway... that's my gripe.
I dig the night aspect. To have the gameplay changed to something akin to survival horror is really cool. And it sorta fills my previous complaint of "something to fear". I just wonder if it will have any more depth to it?
Game looks good. Lots of potential there.

Seriously get over it. It's silly to complain about how many zombie games there are, they're not going anywhere.
