@wolfwoof:
Buggy the clown - former bounty 500 million
From the marine and the publics point of view he's had his finger in any very wide variety of bad deeds.
He orchestrated the biggest prison break ever
His henchman Galdino was the one who actually freed Ace
He was a Roger pirate
He partcipated in battles with a veritable who's who of the big dogs at marineford
He leads a vast criminal organisation
And is belived to be involved with an emperor
All hail Buggy the greatest pirate who ever lived
@wolfwoof:
Mmmyes Law's admission really shows that they'll let any old riffraff in at this point.
Poor Buggy who has to suffer the degradation of this once proud institution
I think I love you
Apoo for me until confirmed otherwise because this is looking a bit too much like him. The way that ressembling character was just placed in the panel looks too convenient. What would he be doing at the HQ when news is spreading like fire over the grandline about his alliance though?very strange.
How did Apoo get to this meeting so fast after the Kidd/Hawkins/Apoo alliance meeting?
Epic chapter.
I knew that what Dofla was going to say to Luffy was about Ace's DF, I was sad it got revield without me telling it first lol :P.
Things are getting interesting, I hope Luffy does something and eats Ace's DF, guess that's the only way for him to get a power up and reach the yonkou level (Haki + 2 DF) however don't know if it will be possible !
Can't wait to see the guys that are after StrawHats, One piece is the best.
A medal for you my friend. So, apoo is 'abusa' :ninja:
Read the thread. "Abusa" is "Absa" a.k.a Absalom.
@400MillionBelis:
"Espada" means sword, not spade.
In portuguese Espada(s) is "spade(s)" in card games. But it also means swords
Finally confirmation on Buggy! Damn, what a relief! Was expecting it for years already and I had to halt the reading due to over excitement when got to that page.
We have the nickname of one of the new Admirals: Fujitora.
So, we know the former ones got their names from Momotaro's tale (Kiji=Pheasant, Zaru/Saru=Monkey, Inu=Dog).
Now we still have the monkey and a tiger is added. Do we have any japanese tale with a monkey and a tiger? This way we could guess the third one.
And, man, I am really in love with Doflamingo since the last chapters, it's amazing. I am loving Dressrosa and I decidedly completely fell for his crew. Seriosuly! Each design, each character… I am liking this group so much that I am actually hoping the Strawhats will get screwed.
Oh, well, loved every page of this chapter. It was full of information, the comedy was gold and it's just me or Oda's drawings were better than usual this time?
Why are there bunnies in the water?
Law is so funny~ Absalom! Such a good find, it was not obvious from the mangareader scanlation though, and Bonney o.o, Jinbe!!!! I want him to catch up already x(!!! .. and so many things happening!
PS: I think DD is quite wrong on his assumption on Luffy. Why would he care about the fruit…. though I'm not sure about "his pace" and if it means something more..

Instead of that you should probably wonder why exactly he's participating in a marine meeting when his pirate alliance was announced in the very paper Brannew holds in his hands.
what's the connection between them?
There are speculations that the people who are looking for Caribou mistook him for Trebol, they have similar DF powers. Trebol might be in charge of transporting the smileys produced in the factory. If he has a simlar DF power to Caribou, he could store them all in his body. There appears to be a factory in the city where Caribou is at the moment.
lol, somehow the thing that gets me most pumped about this awesome chapter, is Oda's genius way of bringing back Absalom.

Security became really lax after Akainu took charge. Apoo just marched in after he said he was a new intern. It works all the time.
@No:
Yeah, it does seem like realy bad writing to actualy go through with this.
Bad writing would be Luffy defeating emperors in his current state. You honestly think Luffy isn't getting a powerup? If a Yonko is defeated without Luffy getting more powerful, that,my friend,is bullshit.

What makes you think he'll have to do it alone? There's his crew and Law, plus maybe the other pirate alliance.

Is there someone who knows this stuff? CCC?
PS: I think DD is quite wrong on his assumption on Luffy. Why would he care about the fruit…. though I'm not sure about "his pace" and if it means something more..
I was thinking that too. It's not like Luffy to care about things that have little meaning. Ace is dead, can't change that, so his fruit doesn't matter anymore. The only thing I think Luffy would be curious about is how the fruit was obtained, because it may have had something to do with Ace's dead body being tampered with which Luffy would not like.
If the fruit does mean something more then it creates a plot for Luffy which is more personal than destroying the SAD factory and defeating a Yonko (which is all just one fun ride for him). We need Luffy to get personal to see him at his most dangerous when fighting. There's always something that really pisses Luffy off and that fruit might be it. However it would need a deeper meaning as you said, because I really can't see why Luffy would care about Ace's ability.
What makes you think he'll have to do it alone? There's his crew and Law, plus maybe the other pirate alliance.
Luffy will become pirate king. For that he'll have to be able to defeat other pirate captains one-on-one… basically become the strongest pirate with the most dangerous crew.
to the ones thinking it"s Apoo at Marine Headquerters:
Are you trllong or serious?
What makes you think he'll have to do it alone? There's his crew and Law, plus maybe the other pirate alliance.
Luffy,Law and their crew aren't powerful enough to defeat Yonko.Even Law himself said that even with all the precautions they're taking, they only have a 30% success rate if even that. That would still be bad writing "Luffy remaining near the same level and needs a shit load of help to fight all 4 of the Big shots" No.

Well, then we'll have to see a Yonkou in action, just to know how very dangerous and powerful they really are.
Whitebeard totaled Marine HQ and Blackbeard freed level 6 prisoners, stole a Devil Fruit's power, and indirectly started the War. Shanks stopped the War with his mere presence.
Kaidou, Big Mam? Can you two top that?

Fine, than Luffy has to be defeated or pushed to his limits first for him to say "yeah, I need to get stronger!".
Magellan would be a perfect choice for Fujitora codename (his poison being purple). Too bad he became a vice warden while everyone else is being promoted…
ace's fruit is fort usopp. Well not usopp himself but for his weapon…
My god…this didn't feel like reading a chapter.
More like Oda stuffing all my holes with awesome reveals, comedy and badassery. Guess I wasn't ready for this.
!
Does anyone think Luffy will care about the MeraMera no mi? The whole point with the flashback with Sabo, Ace and Luffy was showing what Luffy had and the fact that he is moving on from Ace's death for his crews' sake. Hopefully Luffy will just making have a dramatic sweating panel and then realize that his crew needs him and punches DD.
Don't know if it has been mentioned before, but am I the only one seeing Garp on Page 2? Though I doubt he would work together with criminals, working with the Revolution army would be fine (just look at the leader…). And DoFla beeing a Businessman in the first case, I can definetly seeing him selling weapons to everybody that has the Money needed... I can also seeing him punching Luffy when they meet next - "YOU have been the one to cause us lose that war? Damn you, Brat!" Plus, I think Luffy will be the one eating the mera-mera. His would be perfect to handle to DF, he won't explode because he's rubber. And his attacks already seemed to be connected to Ace', it would be a perfect power-up and one of the only ones I can think of. He will sooner or later face BB (so he'll Need to have more than just rubber & haki), he will face Akainu, who already showed to have s stronger DF than Ace had. So Luffy telling him "You may beat fire, but you won't overpower fire-vulcanized rubber!" would be great. And I can also see him eating it be accident. "This is the fruit you dreamed of, Luffy; here take a look - WWHHAAT, the case is empty???" - "Oh, you mean THAT fruit? I already ate because I thought it would be tasty, but it smelled like shit"

If DD uses the fruit in combination with mockery of Ace, i see Luffy getting quite angry about it actually.
Really good chapter, thank you Oda for making chapter 700 so special.
-Law slowly becoming like a Strawhat, knew that'd have happen over time HA.
-They got Buggy of all peopleXD Shanks must be proude. Luffy's reaction this should be priceless though.
-Loved the reactions of every one, can't wait to see that in the anime.
-Every one starting to see what a threat Luffy is and sending some one after his head, fight could end up some thing like what happened at the end of Thriller Bark.
edit;
-Forgot one of the most important plots, Dof having Ace's devil fruit to get to Luffy, I can see him taunting Luffy with it making him ticked off while they fight and even eating it to push Luffy's anger to a whole new level. The fight between them just got a lot more intresting.
Over all, loved loved loved this chapter
So what is the "Pirate Dispatch Organization"?
i think the battle in dressrosa will be somewhat like skypiea. each symbol leaders will have their own territory and luffy and co will need to defeat them all before they can reach the king. in skypiea they are meant to defeat all the priests before they can reach the god.
ace's fruit will be either thrown to the sea or put on ace's grave. i really dont like the idea of luffy or anyone eats it.
@Tom:
Instead of that you should probably wonder why exactly he's participating in a marine meeting when his pirate alliance was announced in the very paper Brannew holds in his hands.
I just questioned dasia, don't think it was him ^^
Awesome chapter. Was it just one chapter? So much
So … the meramera fruit, huh. I would be disappointed if Luffy didn't care, because it would be nice if Doflamingo wasn't always a few steps behind, right?
There were a lot of not-quite reveals in this chapter to get this arc to be exciting ... like Fujitora, and the 'other Shichibukai'. And Doflamingo's various commanders, and Dressrosa in general.
This chapter was brilliant, frankly, since the introduction of Law as an ally of the SH's it's been a great read since we rarely get to see the SH's formulate and execute plans, which is fairly evident by how Luffy keeps getting distracted so easily and Law has to keep reminding him of the real goal.
"His Pace" needs to be explained a little more, it seems as if Dofla has another ability, a seductive one which is active through his voice and can be transmitted via den-den-mushi. Luffy was practically in a trance state, but whether that's due to his over-active imagination and love of meat, or a technique as Usopp said… Either way, I'm uneasy about it since I thought Dofla as quite powerful enough already...
Hooray for Buggy and I wonder how exactly the WG will reply to the ripples that are beginning to grow in the NW. Fujitora has been dispatched but it won't stop there. Oh, hi Apoo!
But the Mera Mera reveal was awesome, can't wait to see how the fight over it would go and who would eventually eat it. I can't Imagine we won't see it in action again. Don't know whether it would be believable for Luffy to get 2 DF powers after all previous history suggested that it can't be done unless through Blackbeard's secret method. Maybe the SH's hold onto it, eventually learn about how it's possible and Luffy inherits it that way?
Well, then we'll have to see a Yonkou in action, just to know how very dangerous and powerful they really are.
Whitebeard totaled Marine HQ and Blackbeard freed level 6 prisoners, stole a Devil Fruit's power, and indirectly started the War. Kaidou, Big Mam? Can you two top that?
I think we can expect the Yonkou captains to be around Whitebeard's level. We've seen impressive "island sized" attacks from people like Jozu & Kuma, but then we've seen sheer destruction from WB and Shanks (e.g. splitting the sky). Kaido was confident enough to take WB on so he must have been confident that he could win. And he has Donflamingo shitting himself
You're right when you say Luffy will need help to take down the Yonkou, but that's only their crew and alliances. In the end it'll probably be a one-on-one fight with at least one Yonkou in which Luffy will be victorious and reach "that" level of strength. We saw how much he improved in such as short time (from the start of OP to the war), so we'll see Luffy become even stronger now. Zeff put it brilliantly when he watched Luffy fight, saying that it would take something incredible to stop Luffy's will to win. There's no question that Luffy will surpass the Yonkou captains, and for that he will have to grow in strength gradually (Oda puts it beautfully when he says "even a big wave that can destroy a city was in the beggining a small ripple nobody noticed" - that's Luffy right there).
However there is a possibility you're right, for example Luffy and Law defeating Kaido, which will boost their strength, to the point where Luffy could fight Big Mam alone. Though I personally think a 2 on 1 wouldn't be an honourable pirate battle.
I think Luffy wont give Jack shit about Mera Mera fruit.
So what is the "Pirate Dispatch Organization"?
I'm thinking maybe Buggy is running an agency where you can request help from pirates. That way, he stays as the big dog in the organisation without actually ever having to show his power (or lack of it).
So for example, you need to put some pressure on an island because you want protection money. You ask Buggy for help and he sends out pirates of an appropriate level to deal with it. The island gives in, you pay Buggy his cut and you're done. All you hear is "Buggy's organisation helped take over this island", that way Buggy's reputation increases without his direct involvement, seems perfect for him frankly.
EDIT: Just remembered he's a Schichibukai, so forget about an island and imagine you need to put down some rogue pirates that are bullying and island or attacking marines, then apply the same principle.
I'm thinking maybe Buggy is running an agency where you can request help from pirates. That way, he stays as the big dog in the organisation without actually ever having to show his power (or lack of it).
That's…a great idea. I wonder who thought this up for him? Alvida? Galdino?
Holy shit that was indeed an awesome episode damnnnnn
That's…a great idea. I wonder who thought this up for him? Alvida? Galdino?
I would think there's this "upper circle" in the organisation consisting of the people that know what Buggy is actually like. Probably had to have a meeting to decide a way to keep all of these powerful pirates loyal to him.
I'm thinking maybe Buggy is running an agency where you can request help from pirates. That way, he stays as the big dog in the organisation without actually ever having to show his power (or lack of it).
Great idea otherwise, but why doesn't Buggy just threaten the island with his own crew and take all the money for himself?
People are saying Luffy wont care about the fruit.
But the fruit is something that belonged to Ace, he probably doesnt want someone like Doflamingo to have a remnant of Ace's legacy in his possession. I'm pretty damn sure that Luffy will care when he finds out.
That's…a great idea. I wonder who thought this up for him? Alvida? Galdino?
Must have been Richie. :ninja:
That'll be a good way to introduce him in the NW. Afterall, Law did mention something about complex organizations where one can rarely ever see the leader. Buggy could be running one of those things…
People already started guessing the last Shichibukai? I go with Rob Lucci.
I could see DD holding up Ace's DF up as leverage and Luffy Gumu Gomu no mi bazookabite-ing it to eat it to which DD laughs because Luffy is going todie but strangely enough it seems he doesn't
Buggy probably has people worried that if they attack him Shanks will seek revenge (and he'd use that to his advantage).
Yonkous are scary (ask Donflamingo).
People are saying Luffy wont care about the fruit.
But the fruit is something that belonged to Ace, he probably doesnt want someone like Doflamingo to have a remnant of Ace's legacy in his possession. I'm pretty damn sure that Luffy will care when he finds out.
Exactly!
Besides, if Luffy wouldn't care about the fruit, then why would Oda bring it into the story to begin with? It's obviously going to be a plot tool to test Luffy. Very interesting development here. Never really seen Luffy tested, at least not in a way like this
I have a bad feeling about the mera-mera.
I hope the fruit won't be eaten by Luffy just to power him up.
I know he's not supposed to do that because otherwise he "should" die.
But it wouldn't be teh first one we get that kind of crap (with some crappy explanation) in other manga.
If hope the author of this one, won't do that. Moreover: why would Luffy be interested in the fruit? He was attached to the brother, not the fruit. And most time he spent with him, Ace didn't even have the fruit.
I don't see a reason for being attached to the fruit..
you could say that, but its still what ace's identity was. so there's a chance luffy might care for the fruit…its an important fruit that came from an important character...so i doubt luffy would just shrug it off. it was shown and was part of doflamingo's plan, so it will definitely play an important role later on.
i do agree with you though that luffy SHOULD NOT eat ace's fruit. it would be terrible.
I'm really loving how multi-layered DD is turning out to be. He's
a) the ringleader of a brisk human trafficking business and the top of the underworld, known by all
b) played both sides by being a warlord as well
c) the beloved leader of a kingdom, who apparently has genuine affection for his direct subordinates, but!!
d) killed lowlives like Bellamy, has no qualm pitting friends against each other through his strings, and asked Monet to kill herself for his own sake
e) said he answers to a "higher authority" than even the Elder Stars
f) quite possibly the spurned son of the Celestrial Dragons
g) dealing directly with an emperor, towards uncertain aims.
You could even add his invitation to Croc as a point of intrigue. DD is the character with most of my interest so far, along with Kin'emon, who's also fantastically multi-layered.
