Today I went to a One Piece Wikipedia site and found out the One Piece Weekly Jump manga started at August the 4th. Whoever posted that got that information from a Japanese colorwalk spread #1 and that guy knows Japanese. Awhile back someone told me it started in September; my point is which month/date is correct?
When did the Manga series first start?

Joe, just a pet peeve but please check the spelling on 'first'. I saw it on two threads and I guess the OCD just got to me.

What? Your saying my spelling is bad? Damn, my spelling sucks. I said "Today I went to a One Piece wikipedia site and I found out when Oda started the manga series; it was August 4th. But awhile ago someone here told me the series started in Steptember. My point is which month/date is correct?"

He means the title of the thread.
And all I know is that One Piece started in 1997. No idea what month.

That guy was me, and I did indeed get the information from Color Walk 1.
The first chapter of the book (covering the first volume) is titled "1997.8.4~1997.9.29", or August 4, 1997 to September 29, 1997. Also, the index in the back says that the images on page 6 and 10 (from chapter 1) are from Weekly Jump #34, which is too early to be in September.
So I'm fairly certain that the August 4th date is correct.

The August date is right for the first "One Piece" in Weekly Jump
Unless you count "Romance Dawn"
