Yeah… It seems to be catching on and sticking around too. There's always a mention of "popularity" in the ad/preview-lines on the chapter cover pages, which they pointedly do NOT include on series that are doomed to imminent failure, so here's hoping it keeps picking up steam.

It was mainly just to introduce weapons, particular styles, roles and such.
It did, but I think it was a decent choice to do that instead of have a whole chapter of info dump. It keeps the readers slightly more engaged. It could have been shorter, though. I'm more interested in the main party.

I'm enjoying this manga a lot. That's the first manga I read from SJA every monday.
The world building is great. It really feels like a lot of work was done by the mangaka before its serialization.
The way border works, the ranking system, the different class of agents, the different kind of triggers, the neighborhood world… All these things that were introduced so far are very well done IMO.I reread the beginning recently and the chapters that I thought were useless at the time seem better now (example : chapter 2 which hints at Kuga's condition and side effect).
The only thing that bothered me was Mikumo's character but with his recent fight against Kazama, I changed my opinion and I see a lot of potential in him.

Trying to bring this thread back to life as I enjoy reading (and talking XD) about WT very much.^^
Especially the latest two chapters, 48 (hope we get an translation soon) and 49 have raised my hopes that we will get to see a well-thought story in a thought-through builed up World. Granted WT was snail-paced at beginning and pretty "boring" and the art isn't the most amazing one either, but lately the pace is quick, the story and characters became more interesting with the invasion and having some human neighbors as possible next enemies in this arc and the art became a bit better compared to the very beginnings. At least to my uneducated eye that is. XD
What I like the most about WT is that our MC/one of our MCs has no "life goal". In all other manga the MC always has to have some dream, some goal so far out of reach at the beginning and yet so grand and wonderful that you want to see the MC reach said goal through all the trials, adventures and battles he and his friends has to face.
Yuuma has none of that.
His only goal, to bring back his father from the dead was revealed and destroyed in less than a half chapter. He's a merc who fought on countless battlefields for no real purpose while ending up on earth because his dad had told him to go there to find help among his old peers. He needed Osamu and Chika to provide him a goal, to give him a purpose that gives his battles a meaning.
I like that, no "I gonna become Pirate king" or "I gonna become Hokage" or "best cook of the world", just somebody who follows somebody's else purpose and goal and makes it his own.Now said goal, finding Chika's brother/friend+protect Chika while she does so, is also interesting for me as it is the "third" MC who provides that goal bot the both main charas we see in the very first chapter. While it is Osamu's own goal/purpose to keep Chika protecting (no matter how much he denies it, Yuuma can see through it with his sideeffect :9) she is the one who pushes him a it further as he is willing to come with her to the neighbor nations to search for her missing brother/friend and with him comes Yuuma along.
Osamu is weak, has his heart at the right place nad lots of willpower, but still weak, weak, weak. No demon fox powers in him, no shinigakami blood in his veins and no rubber super powers either. Just a less than average trion ability and a sword most border agents don't even bother to take. And yet he's the one I'm most interested in his character developement. Mostly because he, the weakest in the group became the de facto leader of their newly formed unit.
That would be like giving Sakura the leader role with all the responsibilities back then in the genki arc of Naruto.Osamu seems to be able to handle the little trion he got very well and while even phyiscally weak (I mean, even Chika was a better atleth than him and he's supposed to protect her XDDD) he tries very hard in his training and while not supersmart, he has a quick brain in his head.
I like this sorta MC compared to the supercool dare-devil ones, or the superstrong lassiez-faire one or the OP comedy stupid ones. Not that those are bad in any way, but we had lots and lots of them and they became a bit broing to me with time and more and more mangas with those sorta MCs.^^;Chika, while pretty new to the MC cast, is also interesting for me as for one she's the one who gives the others the broader goal: Become an A-team and a strong enough A-team to get chosen for a trip in the neighbor nations. Neither Yuuma or Osamu had this goal in mind till Chika voiced it/showing the will to get her goal done. But what is really interesting about Chika is her enourmous Trion ability which surpasses Yuuma's and Osamu's by far and which even Replica had no means to compare it to and which even BLASTED a hole in the Border fortress in ONE shot!
But this grand battle potential lives in a little girl who even her sniper trainer is not sure if she has the ablity to become a "soldier". To face death of her comrades, herself and to kill (as I doubt all neighbor nations have the same call-back as Earth Border plus I doubt the call-back is working once they leave Earth and enter a new nation via the trion ship. I think chapter 50 might show how Chika will behave face to face with the enemy (hope that not too much of a spoiler as it is more an assumption of what I saw than a real guess).So now onto the latest two chapters. Hope somebody here likes to discuss them with me or give me some more pointers in the story due being fluent in japanese.^^

! The one I'm waiting for its translation! >.<
! We see how the Illgar from the previous chapter do their suicide bombing on the very heart of Border and how Border tries to keep standing against those nukes. Thankfully it seems that Border enhanced its walls after that incident with Chika but even with that they stand no chances against so many Illgar suicide bombs.
! And then one of those Illgar becomes sushi. XD
Tachikawa shows why he's the Number 1 among the A-agents and destroy one Illgar with a normal trigger. A very impressive feat! And something I think even Yuuma would have struggled with and that in his black trigger.
! Ai realizes who was behind saving her butt in the first Illgar bombing, nice tie to that previous chapter/encounter, and it later become relevant in her decision to help Osamu/Yuuma out when they ask HQ to do different than what their orders tell them to do and go help the civilians/in Osamu's case Chika. Yuuma has to stay with Arashiyama and kill some more rabbits while Osamu and Ai alone go into the civlian zones which are evacuating.
! This also showed to me that Kido is a fair commander, a very self-rightous and dangerous man, but one who deserves your respect for being a "good" commander. He allows Yuuma to keep making use of his black trigger in emergency cases but also put it under his own command as he tells him what to do and put it to the best use: Killing rabbits before they become too much of a problem.
! At the end we see the neighbor humans who don't all seem to agree with the methods they are using. And some talk about that their pupose is not to overtake Meeden yet, but to "test" it.
Well, they do have ten days before their nation leaves the reach of the gate to earth so that makes sense. But using an entire army to test Border's battle abilities? Damn, they must have money/trion like sand on the beach!Ch.49
! We get to see Chika and Izuho (who i hope will enter Osamu's unit as second sniper in the future) as well as the three newbie jerks from the C-test/training. I knew this wasn't the last we would see them and I doubt it will be the last time we gonna see them given their trion abilities and battle talent. But their personalities is still jerkish.^^
! And we get to see another A-agent, number 4 in the power-rankings of melee if I guess right. Probably one of those names Jin mentioned to Miwa who were considered for the use of the black trigger. He seems to be a dual user with a Kotetsu and a shield sword like Osamu uses. Man, we sure got a whole lot of new characters for quite some time, both in B and A-rankings. Must be hard for some readers of JUMP to keep their names and faces apart. Hope that won't end up negatively for WT in the rankings.^^;
! Page 4 was so cool with its above perspective of the fallen rabbit soldier with two scorpions in his eye/head and black smoke coming from it while its body is full of the scars and wounds Kazama's Unit has given it in their battle. I wonder what exactly that white cube was that they cut out and what had happened to the B-leader Sadawa (or was it Sawada?) as we don't see him leave that rabbit's stomach but whatever, that will clear up once translations are out.
! And daaaaaamn, we get to see somebody in who's presence even Jin sweatdrops nervously: Amon.
The other black trigger user besides ex-user Jin and new Border member Yuuma.
And that dude had annihilated an entire town district with all the trion soldiers in it which he was supposed to defend!!! No wonder Border hesitated to call for his help earlier. That guy is a walking nuke!!!
! Back to Ai and Osamu rushing past Trion soldiers to get to Chika and the civilians as quickly as possible. Replica seems to give very important background info for world buliding. If I have to guess it is about Aftblabla trion use in its soldiers. Like one rabbit needs the same amount of trion to be such a capable and hardcore soldier to kidnapp trigger users like 4 Illgars or like 20 grunt trion soldiers. Which makes sense to me given the rabbits features like to sense even hidden enemies with its ears or to have such hard skin or to analyze situations and adapt to them.
! Though this also means that Aftblabla (that nation name is so complicated…) just spent tons of time, workpower and money/trion to make many of those rabbits AND some more soldiers to add to the army. And that doesn't even seem to be the end of it, given the neighbor humans talk about having "more eggs" ready to use)! Compared to Aft Border is like a third-world country in manufacture and battle power.
! And I think that is what Aft want to show border: Their might!
To use such an amount of troublesome trion soldiers in the very first day of the ten days they can attack earth and all that for a simple "test" of theirs, shows their self-confidence as well as amount of power they can throw into this invasion.
If this is an army made for a test, I don't want to know what a REAL invasion army of their would look like!
! It wants to do exactly that, etablish itself as a feared and terrific enemy which will decreases Border's moral and thus effect its battle power.
! Well, enough of my Aft ambitions assumtions and onto Chika and Izuho who are under attack of those huge mass kidnappr trion soldiers. The three jerk newbies quickly put an end to it though which shows that they can hold what their big mouths talk about.
Only problem that the huge trion soldier harbors a rabbit. And not any kind of rabbit but a BADASS one at that! I mean, he got a dark shade, rank signs and some boosters on his shoulders - guy can only be a badass rabbit!
And if a normal rabbit was already a problem for A-teams, then this guy must be a real thorn in Border's side especially if there are more of them though I doubt that. There can be only so many badass rabbits in one army after all. XD

And the chapter ends with Ai and Osamu arriving at the scene just in time it seems though i have no clue how they want to handle this kinda rabbit with only inexperienced C-agents, one A agent and a weak B agent who got his class mostly due Yuuma's doing/Border politics. If I have to guess the next chapter will show either Osamu's worth as a quick-thinking leader of Chika's gran trion power or Ai's battle ability. That and Miwa saving Osamu and thus fulfilling Jin's foresight and getting Jin's black trigger which will make the neighbor-hating Miwa much much stronger than he was before.
It will be interesting to see that kinda battle. Hope Ch. 50 gets color page or doublepage or something like that.
Well, that's it.
Expect one question of me is it is a good sign that WT sold 60+k volumes in one week with its new fourth volume. There were some weeks were I feared that WT would get axed and were it was mostly saved due other mangas doing more badly than it and getting the axe. Those times are over and WT is more or less "set" in Jump, right?
I hope so because I want it to someday replace Naruto or Bleach when they are gone and for that it needs popularity, even more so since SnK and AC are very popular and good mangas. Though those aren't exactly battle mangas and two big ones are leaving JUMP in some time so this is an advantage WT has over those two and I hope it can help to boost its popularity in the future.One last thing before I end this post, biggest one here yet, those snacks:
Are those the ones Jin ate in the manga and are they some special "made only once" snack for some event or did WT got a whole snack made in its honor which will be sold in supermarkets and such? Just caught up to this series. I don't feel like a lot of the cast of characters are very particularly interesting at all, but I'm really into the story and I'd really like to see where it goes.

They probably will enter the battle but most likely at its end when Border is pretty much down. That and they got that battle-crazy guy in their group so there surely will be some Border agent versus human neighbor fight in there! Hope Jin will be in it.

I think the neighbors don't know about Chika yet, but they probably will sooner or later and given how surprised Yuuma and Replica were about her Trion amount/ability her's must be of great rareness and thus very valuable.
I believe that their task is to demoralize Border by attacking them at the first day and give them many losses as well as demoralize their soldiers as I don't think this is their main attack yet. If they show the Border agents their might in battle they will be less motivated to face them when the neighbors would get really serious to take over Meeden.
About the Black Triggers creation - don't you have to give up your life on your own for that? I can't see too many humans who would be ready to focus their entire Trion into a black trigger to turn themselves to dust…

After all from what we had so far we can conclude that he had seen Osamu's future a couple times, one where he saw him and Osamu meeting somebody who wouldhelp him out find out the truth about the random gates and another where he told Miwa about Osamu's future predictment in the war. Also it looks like he doesn't look that far into the future, more like a couple hours or a day or two at most.
Well, I doubt that Jin will get that black trigger back any time soon and Miwa will most likely get a different sideeffect if he gets any that is when he becomes the new owner of the black trigger Jin gave up. So not much use talking about it as we won't see the effect return.
What I had assumed though is that he only sees "important" stuff, either if it considers his own life or lifes of others, like his battle against the A-teams or the one where Osamu will need Miwa's help to survive the invasion. Though I think he could also see other important stuff like let's say a proposal of somebody to the woman he loves and her saying yes. I got that idea after him asking/teasing Ai Kitora if she came to help because of Osamu too which made me think that maybe he saw Ai's future and that it had something for her and Osamu which is why he wanted to test the waters so to say. Though I doubt there's much truth to it and he probably just asked because he could.^^
So far we only got two sideeffects, Yuuma's lying detection (which I think is very cool and it gets used again and again in the story and not just once/twice and then forgotten forever) and Jin's foresight. Maybe the human neighbors also got one or two with sideeffects or Amon has one as well since he's a black trigger user or Miwa will get one for himself as well.

Yes! Update! Chapter 48 finally got translated!
(I can post twice right? Already seen a couple double posts here in some threads as long as there's a couple days in-between, so it's okay, yes?)! Nothing all too surprsing this chapter but it sure showed some cool/interesting moments.
! 1. is Tachikawa being awesome as Jin, destroying an Illgar in suicide modus in ONE blow and that with a NORMAL trigger. No black trigger or anything, just your average day normal trigger which most of Border's regular agents uses. Hardcore! Even Yuuma was impressed with that and that says a lot.
! 2. is about the callback/flashback to chapter 9 where Kitora connects what Yuuma says and makes the correct assumption that it was Yuuma that had saved her ass and the town's people back then. You might not see that as important but I really like that such little detail still gets implied and taken care of in a very smooth way. Also back then were chapter 7-9 the only ones so far which were named Kitora Ai so I'm pretty sure in the next chapters there will be a Kitora Ai 4 or at least it's my hope there will be a chapter in that invasion which will focus on her a bit more than usual.
! 3. is about Commander Kido. While till now you couldn't help but see him as an hard @ss, here he's now a smart hard @ss with simply allowing Yuuma to use his black trigger due this being an emergency but only if he stays and fight more rabbits which forces him to let Osamu go alone as he can't just deny a direct order like that. Kido is not only somebody who wants power for whatever his future goals are but also somebody quite cunning and resourceful and who can keep the big picture in his eyes, as long as he is the painter of said picture that is. xD
! 4. is about the pages of Osamu's predicament (going alone, having to fight trion soldiers/possible rabbits without Yuuma's help/strength/experience at his side) which got stronger due the talks going on in the comms about a group of trion soldiers breaking through the last defense line and being in purchase of the evacuation group in south (why else would they rush towards the civillians?) and Yuuma's simple answer to that unspoken question/self-doubts of Osamu which he accepts and is ready to face any enemy to defend Chika and co. Liked that moment a lot! Osamu simply rushing ahead without any worries wouldn#t have fit his character, here him staying quiet and worried for a while busy with his negative thoughts and then overcoming (mostly) of those self-doubts was nice to see. Especially as I'm sure there will be many such moments for Osamu in the future which means given on his reactions and actions upon those moments we can see more easily a development of his character as a leader as well as a figher and ofc his own personality from self-doubt to confidence, etc.
! 5. is, ofc, about Ai volunteering to help Osamu with protecting the C-class agents and the citizens. Obviously because we can see that she got not only pride but also a nice side to her which is fair to everybody (as long as they're are not students of her beloved Torimaru that is and said Torimaru praises said person in front of her :P). Plus this way we might get a chance to see how Osamu (techincally a C-class who's a B-class in power, very important to keep that in mind) and Ai (one of the Top 5 Melee fighters if I remember correctly) will fight together against the trion soldiers/rabbits they gonna encounter when they have to defend the others.
As I want to see those two get a bit closer to each other I hope for Osamu to show his worth/contribute to the battle in some ways to gain Ai's approval/get her impressed as well as Ai showing Osamu what being an A-agent is meant to be, not only in pwoer but also in devotion to protect this city and the people that live in it.
! I would have liked to add a 6th point about the neighbor humans and their goals but sadly we only got more mysteries on that side.
We do know that they are not interested in taking over and/or controling Miden, but we still don't know their real intensions for attacking earth/border with such an army when it isn't done to conquer said world.
So I guess their real goal is either to get a lot of trion aka kidnap/kill people like pirates/vikings/etc or to just wreck havoc in the city and kill as many people as possible to invoke terror and fear as well as to destroy Border's image as skillful protectors to later be able to invade a demoralized enemy. Not sure if those thoughts of mine are correct though.All in all pretty enjoyable, hope it will get good reviews in JUMP though as long as it stays around place 10 and avoids the bottom five I'm happy with the placement given that the top spots are usually already taken by the big/famous ones. And how was your view on this new chapter?^^

I hope I don't break too many laws by posting trice in a row…but there are 5 days time difference between those posts so maybe it's okay? Dunno, sure hope so.^^;
Anyway, chapter 50 is up so if you don't want to be spoilered don't click on the spoiler below.
! It starts with the new rabbit type shooting lasers and making the C-class agents and civillians run like little rabbits. Man, i suck at word puns…
! Well, it doesn't hit shit, probably because it can already analyze that it could wipe the floor with those weaklings. Thankfully Ai and Osamu prevents him to fire another time. Was a pretty cool move by Ai with her scorpion formed as a blade boot on her leg. Wonder if that will become her signature move in future battles as well? Scorpion is a pretty useful weapon with its flexibility despite its weak defense.
! Well, the two of them get the attention of the new rabbit another trion soldier breaks through a wall/house and attacks the C-class agents and civillians. It's the same type which had almost killed Osamu back then in chapter 4. Bad news.
! Ai and Osamu divide forces (though it looks like Osamu doesn't quite like that, he has to accept that they are the only two who can fight trion soldiers of this level). Ai fights the new rabbit type alone while osamu face off his almost killer of the past. Oh, and we get to see some panels of Osamu's classmates during this chapter as well. Wonder if some or all of those 4 will join border in the future if WT runs long enough and needs a couple more characters?
! Next we get a flashback of Osamu about he got done in by that thing in the past as well as another where we see him training in the Tomakoma branchgetting coached by his mentor and the operator girl (wonder if we gonna see them in this invasion as well. After all all agents were called to weapns so Tomakoma should have send their elite warriors as well yet we haven't seen a glimpse of them yet). He gets done in by a training version of the same thing he fights against right now. Well, we also get some more info/world building regarding trion soldier types and border agent fighting but I can't read what's written there so I have no clue what they are actually talking about. XD
! Anyway, we get a nice double-page where Osamu OWNS that trion soldier the same way Yuuma had owned it in chapter 4 when he rescued Osamu! We even get a couple panels which shows Yuuma doing the same thing as Osamu, basically a parallel of Osamu's growth closer to Yuuma's leve (still thousand years too early to be on the same level though :P).
! I really liked that one as I have read plently of times where people roll their eyes about Osamu being such a "weak and useless MC". ! The chapter ends with Osamu running back to Ai to help her with her rabbit and that's it. The chapter ends right there when Osamu is sort of surprised/shocked (?) and says something and that's it.

Now I wonder if he's shocked because Ai had killed that rabbit (that would be hardcore) or because Ai is beaten to a pulp or about to get eaten by that rabbit (more likely, given how a normal rabbit is already a problem to a whole A team). Though then shouldn't he look more shocked/scared?That's it from me. Anybody else here read the raws/could maybe translate a couple words/sentences/pages to clear up what's said/going on exactly?

Love the color pages and how we got a color page of the four MCs (Jin, Chika, Yuuma and then Osamu) in their WT outfits compared to the very beginning where we had a similar page but with them being in normal clothes and showing their trion cube while here they show their weapons. Great idea!
And Ai Kitora - so fukkin'bad@ss! Need spoilers for that part:
! So last time it ended with Osamu being all "wha-" and you know why he was so wha?
Not because Ai was getting killed by that superrabbit, but because Ai KICKED @SS and was able to hold herself against that senior rabbit/super rabbit/whatever rabbit in a really cool way:
She had trapped it in a cage with her pistol tires she was using as foothold for herself to jump around the rabbit midair and shoot it , trapping it and preventing it from moving!
! One A agent against a better equiped rabbit than the one Kazama's team had encountered and destroyed.
! If you take into account that Ai was alone while Kazama had his two goons then this really shows her elite status and battle talent!
! I really loved that the mangaka didn't play the "weak heroine needs saving from the strong hero" cliche but made Ai so amazingly bad@ss!!!
! We see her thoughts on how she wants to conceal the trion soldiers movement and keep it busy to make the ciitzens escape posible while considering its laser threat and her own efforts in dealing damage with her gun and scorpion weapon.
! In other words, the fight is a 1-1 (!!!) between Ai Kitora and a super rabbit with Osamu and couple C-agents watching in awe.
! Anyway, the fight continues and the super rabbit uses his jumpsuit equipment to fly up in the sky, out of the tire trp, and lay laser fire on the reatreating human citizens and C-agents.
! Ofc Ai attacks it immediately to make it stop fire on citziens, but it actually had leaded her into doing so and attacks her right away, smashing her Scorpion weapon, grabbing her leg and PUNCHING her into the ground like a doll!
! We get a flashback to the time with the Ilgar where Ai reacted not so cool while fighting an unknown Trion soldier - remember the Ilgar soldier incident where Kitora paniced after dealing the death blow and having no way to stop its suicide bombing? I really really love how Ashihara-sensei continues those little tie-ups and in this case especially as it shows a development of Ai's character and of her personality.
! Ai's pride was wounded after not being able to have dealt with the Ilgar on her own and she worked hard to make sure that next time, aka this time, she will not "fail again". I loved how her past helplessness against the Illgar and her own elite pride were shown here in a single page and gave conclusion to this new Ai Kitora who wouldn't be helpless again and who would keep her pride unscratched due her effort and results.
! Kitora then shots her tire into a house behind the rabbit, summons her scorpion, cuts her own leg which is hold by said rabbit who prepares to shoot her with its laser, dodges the shot by letting herself gets pulled towards the house aside the rabbit and just when she passes him she hits right into the black with her scorpion, sending it deep into the rabbit#s head/eye while its mouth was just about to close due its laser fire just stopping and KILLS IT!
! 1 vs 1 of Ai Kitora and Super rabbit - result:
AI KICKS BUNNY BUTT!!!!!

Man, that was damn cool, especially after seeing how even Yuuma couldn't one-shot a normal rabbit in his black trion form or how the whole Kazama team was needed to bring down one normal rabbit!
! So yeah, everybody freaks out and cheers while Osamu is just O_O and all C-agents are like 8D and Kitora is like "pff" -_- and I'm like ""$%&/$(! XD
! But the neighbor humans have watched everything. And you know how said superrabbit came out of another trion soldier, right? Well, guess what?
IN THAT SUPERRABBIT WERE EVEN MOAR TRION SOLDIERS!!!!! It's like a russian doll. XDDD
! Remember the little trion soldiers, the Rads, which collect trion and then open new gates? Yep, that super rabbit had a bunch of those and they opened three gates through which THREE SUPERRABBITS ENTER THE BATTLEFIELD!!!
! And Ai has lost her leg and used up a lot of her trion, Osamu has no snowball chance in hell to fight on his own three superrabbits if Ai had problems dealing with one and the rest with them are a dozen or more white C-agents.
Oh boy, next chapter gonna look superbad for Border at this point.
! Well and that was it.
Clearly and finally another Ai Kitora chapter and hell yeah, did she kicked bunny @ss in it!
Next chapter though she will need Osamu's and the C-agents help to keep those rabbits at bay and prevent that the town gets destroyed/its citizens killed/border agents kidnapped. And I think that will be the time for Osamu and his brain to come into play to show his ability as leader and planer and tactican in face of three superior trion soldiers with nothing but a wounded A agent, a "weak" B agent (himself) and a couple dozens C-agents who have never fought such a dangerous foe before.
! Boy, this gonna be one heck of an awesome invasion!

Well, lost a limb in the process, but worth it for a kill. But that ending man, things look really dark for our Border force there.^^;I wonder too though I'm glad we now know that their target is the C-agents capture. I think it had both to do with their power level, meaning it might be easier for them to brainwash those young agents or to use them than veteran agents as well as reducing Border's force number and leave a feeling of terror behind if dozens if not hundreds of C-agents got kidnapped into a strange world which will leave for an unknown time after ten days have passed. I mean, imagine the parents of those kidnapped kids or the media's echo. There's a good reason why the Border PR dude is so worried about Border's image in his invasion. If this town gets destroyed too much or too many people die or Border agents gets kidnapped then that will refelct badly upon Border's reputation which means less money, which means less produced triggers, which means less recruits, etc.

So, new raw's out. Chpater 52 actually had a bit of surprise for me despite it going how I expected it to go:
! So my first surprise was Kitora's capture. I did expect her to be captured, no way she would run away and leave the C-newbies behind facing three ranked rabbits, but the way she was captured was a shock to me: She got melted into a cube!
! Or better said her trion body got melted into a cube. Still disturbing image, especially if you would put yourself in her boots and imagine how all your senses "melt" away and your voices dies and you can't even scream or hear or feel anything as you are put away like a thing. >.<
! My second surprise was Izuho, I did expect her to come to Chika's aid but I didn't expected her to do it this way by shooting the rabbit, I thought she would take Chika's hand and run.
! Btw Chika was awesome in that chapter. Only ranked C-class but almost taking out a ranked rabbit which is a huge problem to most A-agents and that in one shot!
! It also looks like the human neighbours or at least some of them are on the move now and will leave their ship and join the fight. Can't wait for them to enter the battlefield and wreck havoc!
! Does Osamu's finishing strike count as kill-steal though? XD
! And as last surprise point for me and the biggest but also most stasifying one was the return of the three coaches team!
I wondered where they were during the whole battle and I'm glad we gonna see them in real action soon! I wanna see how grand their elite status is, especially after seeing how Kazama's team dealt with one normal rabbit and Ai Kitora with a ranked one on her own. Sure hope that Torimaru, Konami and Reiji won't disappoint me and wipe the floor with those two ranked rabbits. And then get done in by a black trigger human neighbor! 8D
! All in all, an enjoyable chapter and one that shows that Chika has what is needed to be a soldier - the resolve to the trigger when it's needed to be done. Wonder if she can still do the same when her opponents will be human-like aliens or not. And Izuho was a pleasing surprise with her standing up for Chika and risking herself being caught in that process, she might be lazy and a bit whiny/silly, but she's a darn good and brave friend.
! Poor Kitora though, hope she will get saved soon. Else this invasion arc might turn into a rescue arc where Border has to send their people into neighborland to recuse their kidnapped agents. I would like to see that but such a thing sure would be hard to get done since Border has to defend itsef during those 10 days and, if enough agents got caught, won't have the needed man ressources to host both a defense and a rescue mission with uncertain outcome. Still, it is an exciting possibility and maybe even a early glimpse into neighbor country though I doubt our protagonist will be able to be send off to such a mission. -
So like, the color cover chapter 51 announced the official release of WT figurines right?

Though, well, I'm not even sure anybody had heard anything regarding this issue yet. I hope though somebody had because I'm a bit curious about it as I had it myself to pay for a product and then said company went bankrupt and said "ups, sorry for your money, dear customer, but no money refunds nor product for you~".

So the Cube was Suwa after all. That's creepy… though that one rabbit seems to do the whole cube-thingie differently than the rest of the rabbits as he cube'd Kitora outside his body unlike the others with their insect arms coming out of their stomaches.Amou is superstrong, a walking nuke. The dull color comment makes me wonder if that is his sideeffect from his black trigger and what exactly it does. Maybe strength aura or something like that?
Also body, such a rabbit sure is a whole lot of trion! One of them is equal to four Ilgars! o.o
Replica makes sense that the neighbor's plan seems to be more than jsut capturing border agents given their trion mass they brought with them, but we already know that they are not interested in conquering Earth either. So what exactly is their goal?
The whole black trigger made in dire need makes lots of sense to me. If you're driven in such a corner and about to lose there are probably some soldiers who would give up their lives to create a weapon for their comrades to be used against the enemy to save/defend their home nation. Now that Replica has spoken of it, I wonder if Border will get driven into such a corner in those ten days and if so who it will be who will lay down his live and form a black trigger with his trion/soul/etc.
Also obligatory rabbit, this time ranked/super rabbit/whatever, at the end. Our three "newbie geniuses" have so much bad luck. XD

I get the impression that the enemy is planning to infiltrate border using the stolen trion soldiers. They can use the captured trion signatures as keys to enter border and infiltrate its core. Killing off officers and key border personnel seems like a great strategy in this invasion campaign.

Though chapter 53 seems to hint of a different agenda of the neighbors.
Now I hope some others have read the raw as well because there are a couple things I would like to hear others opinions about:
The three coaches triggers
! It seems very clear to me that the triggers of our protagonists coaches are not Border-made.
! - Konami looks more like Yuuma than your usual Border agent, especially with her thick trion hands. But also the Hotpants which surely aren't Border standard as well as the two feathers in her hair and her changed (dog?) ears all hint on her trigger being a foreign one which she got somehow and make use of it. Plus her weapons seems to be a mix of Scorpion and Kensetsu which we also haven't seen yet in that form before.
! - Reiji supposed to be the sniper guy, superstrong as well, but boooooaahh! When he knoched that bunny up and away with his fists/tigger in it, I couldn't quite believe that he really was a sniper and not a front fighter! o.o
Since we haven't seen yet any Border trigger meant only for unarmed fights, this also speaks for Reiji having gotten hold of a not Border made Trigger for some reason.
! - Torimaru's cool wall also doesn't look like your average border trigger, so either that one was made specifically for him or he got it from another nation in some way. I believe the latter because such an ability would sure be useful for many battles so I can't see why others Agent don't have it as well, expect onl Torimaru can make use of it due it being a foreign trigger. Either that or it is too complex/trion consuming for most agents.
! I like to think that they all got neighbor triggers as that would underline their position to make friends with neighbors and not see them all as enemies.

In any case, it looks like we have some heavy fighting ahead between Border agents and Neighbor trigger users and I can't wait to see how they gonna go and how they gonna end!
! The big map we got at beginning of this chapter seems to hint on showing battle progress in the next chapters or show the results when the invasion has ended. The militarised area around the Border quarter is quite big if looked from upon. Wonder if its size will incrase now that several houses and such outside of that zone has been destroyed. What is likely is that many more ciitzens will leave that city after that invasion and if those happens to be the parents of some of the Border's agents the Border might lose quite a couple soldiers even when they won this fight.Konami looks so adorable in her trion body. Hope we get to see her in it a whole lot.
Also dat cat!!! Cool as ice! World is crashing down around him, shoots fired, huge monsters rushing and grabbing and hitting people and the cat is totally "meh" and stays glued on Izuho's head as if its the most comfortable place to be in this entire war. XDDD

Yup! we have a rough idea of the enemy
s motive now. Just bear with me a bit here…but considering the golden gooses trion supply...couldn`t she power up a super trigger weapon....lets say...a nuke...or even more cooler...MECHA TRIGGERS!!! Probably a nuke given how devasting Amon is alone with his black trigger. Mecha Trigger sounds cool, but they got Trion soldiers for that already, just need to make them bigger, is all.^^
No, I didn't made that connection though I should have once Konami said she's longer in Border than Jin, but looks like I needed a visual aid to see the similarities between that chapter 1 girl and current Konami. Now I wonder if Konami is a full or half-neighbor similar to Yuuma. What do you think? Her being so naive and guible could be due her growing up in a neighbor society where lies and such simply don't exist due their culture till she got to the human world 4 years ago. Well, it would fit Yuuma's "there are many more illegales in this world than just me" from the beginning which means he might not be the only neighbor human who already lives on earth.
And given that Yuuma was born 15 years ago but earth was attacked four years ago by the fire, I mean, neighbor nation, this would mean that some humans from earth knew about the neighboorhood already and traveled it as well as that neighbors from other worlds traveled earth. Aliens were under us all the time, we just didn't saw them as such. XD

I like those tiny hints on future development/callbacks to past talks/show-ups, it shows that Ashihara has planned this story and its characters out a whole lot. Maybe we should reread and put together what could hint on future development or might become new characters of the series.Netsuki? Really? Doen't the nose look different? I did. Pretty sweet. It could good and bad parts though like all mangas do.
The good
! -More Neighbor info! So those Afroblablasomethingsomethingyaddayadda people grow horns which seems to be their source of trion power (?). But then again we have seen some with just one or no horns…
-The chapter focused on one fight only, which is good as 3 fights in 18 pages could get a bit too shortcut with the panels and all dem characters.
-The neighbor soldier was awesome! And he was more like a tank than a melee fighter, using bullets and shooting and all that, pretty cool moves on his side.
-That Double page with the two B losers (okay, that's mean to say, but honestly, they were totally cannon fodder XD) getting ripped to shreds was great.
-DAT!TRION!MACHINEGUN! I loved the glowing trion bullets outside th armmachinegun and how big and devasting it was! With such a thing dozens of tanks could get destroyed before they even fire a shot! Human military would be hopeless underpowered against such an enemy.
-A whole B-team which consists only of snipers. Sweet! That team battle between them and Osamu's team in the future gonna be interesting. Also it adds "beatable" snipercharacters for Chika and Izuho who will have to competent with those snipers to incrase the ranking of their team.
-With those shields and rocketlauncher-shoulders, this guy really is a full-blown tank of mass destruction.The bad
! -I didn't understood what they talked abut Afronation and Afroneighbors! Translation please!
-The first fight they focused on was on the B-team…....
-The Border agents got suckerpunched a damn lot in this chapter and it doesn't look like the B-teams can do it on their own without help from either A or S class agents. Which is a bit sad for I had hoped that teamwork and numbers could at least wound that guy, but with such defense and offense, it doesn't look like a hundred B agents will be enough to leave a scratch. So far at least.
-So many new characters with names! We're at chapter 54 and we have so many darn names and faces to keep in mind! My head is spinning! @.@- No Yuuma since chapter 48. I want Yuuma back! Preferable kicking neighbor ass!
All in all, I liked it. Maybe if we had gotten the time to know those charas more I would have liked it more but then again, I didn't cared much for such battles even in Naruto, Bleach or One Piece and most of the time those side-characters had lots of screentime and background build-up. Yet they were never important to me so why should I care? Which is why I like it that we get lots of new characters shown during a war where they either show that they are capable or well, not, in which it is easier to guess for who to look out for in future arcs, espeically the B-class team/class rank wars.

So, chapter 50 got translate, chapter 54 some nice bits of part translation which would help explain something which had bothered me about the neighbors and chapter 55 raw got released too.
Let's start with the one I don't need to put spoilers out, shall we?^^
Chapter 50
A Osamu chapter. About time, I'd say given the last one was a dozen chapters ago. And it is a good one, for Osamu's power and confidence = character growth. Though I might be biased here as Osamu is my fav chara so far. Hope to see more chapters of him kicking ass, but giving Jin's future prediciton towards Miwa Osamu will somehow end in a pitch and need resucing in this invasion arc. Hope it is something serious and not silly.^^;
Getting ahead of myself here. Anyway, it starts with the ignorant ego-overblown trio getting laser-boom'd by that new rabbit and every C agent getting into a panic. But well it was a pretty big explosion. Plus there are several civillians nearby, if they get hit by that beam/explosion that's it for them, game over. Luckily Kitora and Osamu arrive just in time and confront the rabbit. I guess that sword leg will become one of AI's signature moves or some thing similar like that. :happy:
Also Osamu got famous - as the "four eyes who got defeated by Midorikawa recently". He will probably called foureyes by most through-out the whole series. Even Izuho calls him "Four eyes mister/Mister four eyes".
Suddenly a Mole Mod appears and threatens the C class agents and civillians so Osamu splits up from Kitora and confronts the trion soldier type which had almost killed him at the beginning of this manga while Kitora enters the battle with the new rabbit type. I liked what Kitora said to Osamu with the "show me how much you have changed" sentence, its quite a development compared to her low opinion she had of him before. First her misconception of him as an attention seeker and then of seeing him only as a weak and useless agent to a follow comrade in battle who she can trust to be able to keep himself up and the civillians/trainees safe.
One thing's for sure though, no matter how low Osamu's status as "superweak team leader of a trion powerhouse and a war veteran" will be in Border HQ, in school he will always be a hero to his classmates. Second time he went out of his way to save them. And since this is january, in a couple weeks there will be february and valentine's day. I can already see Osamu being super uncomfortable with all the attention he suddenly gets that day which he never got before.
I liked the flashback to Osamu's first fight with such a creature to remind the readers how weak and helpless the former Osamu was we got introduced to as well as Yuuma (we haven't seen him in quite some time too, too many characters hogging up the screentime! D:) telling him that he would need 20 osamu copies and 18 of them would get killed fighting ONE of those Mole Mods.
And while the training flashback in Tomakuma was pretty long it got interrupted by some panels of the on-going fighting so it was okay in the end. Osamu's low trion amount as well as his low self-confidence when it comes to attacking/offense got mentioned again in this chapter and while we can see that Osamu did something about him hesitating to attack/always being on the defense, I'm not sure there's so much Osamu can do to increase his trion amount. In a long battle he would probably be the first of the three to exhaust his whole trion supply. And we're talking about ten days invasion with three possible nations. I dunno how quickly you regain your trion back, probably eating a lot and sleeping a lot, but no matter what some agents will come dangerously close to exhausting their trion supply in this invasion arc.Maybe the engenieers can work something around like a trion battery or potion something like that. If so then Chika could make some of them for Osamu with her huge trion so that he can continue fighting.
Osamu finishing off the soldier with a copy attack of Yuuma was pretty cool, nuff said.
Aaaaand cliffhanger.
Now to the interesting translation bit of chapter 54:

I thought that there might be several races in that neighbor nations, with different horn types and those with no horns and such, but apparently Aftokrator has invested lots of money into "Trion Receptors" to get better soldiers. That old guy simply if from the generation when that practise didn't existed yet/was researched about while the others are the soldiers of the new generation of that realm!
! Also it looks like color and position and looks of the horn describes power, personality and type of trion user the soldier got like. Could explain their ranks for one as well as the black horn dude being a black trigger user. If Afrokrator has lots of black triggers to spare it makes sense to send a black trigger to get Borders Black triggers to act to see what they got in power.Chapter 55 raw
! Man, nobody gonna live in those houses for quite a while. Bet a whole lot more citizens will leave the city now.
! Hm, that horned guy looks more like a student than a soldier. Could he be similar to Osamu/Yuuma and the general lot of Border's forces be a student of a school but in his realm's military forces as well? Is that old guy maybe some kind of military instructor/overseer who gonna grade him?
! Hyuzen's weapon, a swarm of little black metal thingies, looks pretty sweet. Especially with his ability to form rockets, shields and mirrors with them to either shoot the enemy on his own or to deflect the bullets shoot at him back to the enemy.
! Panty shot of Konami. Kidding, it's just hotpants.
! Konami takes care of the rabbit duo while Reiji and Torimaru keeps the human neighbor busy.
! Reiji pulls out a minigun (Sweet!) outta his @ss. Those trion bodies sure are useful. XD
! Konami the battle maiden/goddess with huge battleaxe (aawwwweesome!!!) - if it were any bigger she would make Rory from Gate competition.:w00t:
! She totally WRECKS those rabbits with that battleaxe and Osamu is like :blink:. I hope Konami gets her own title chapter name soon enough, she would make an amazing part of the named chapter title cast.
! Dat cat must be made of trion. It never leaves Izuho's head. Even for a cat that's too stubborn.
! Introduction of two more Tomakoma members. Of their backs that is. Both seems to favor ponytail as hair style though. Possible couple? Engenieers maybe?
! Dat minigun. Reiji got everything, can knock out rabbits with his bare hands, is a sniper for long range and got for mid range his minigun from his dimensional pocket. If he got grenades or rocket launcher, he so gonna go up my fav list.
! Hyusen repells the bullet rain of Torimaru and Reiji and we enter a new location, of team kazama versus the black trigger neighbor.
! This black trigger guy is a tricky one. With his black goe leaving his foot causing spikes a couple seconds later. I have no idea how Kazama's underling is called like, but whatever, I won't bother looking back for his name. Anyway, it's the annyoing guy who always badmouths others and acts like he's hot shit though he got killed off first in the fight against Jin.
Apparently he is pretty good as he notices and warns the team of the trap. Then we get to see their cute operator behind her computer and then that annoying potty mouth ties his hair into a ponytail, probably means he gonna be serious business next chapter or something like that.
