would you be interested in seeing a story cover his character? assuming his character had a past and wasn't always in the dojo.
Zoro's Sensei
-
-
In an RPG I made, he turned evil after Zoro left…
-
i like this guy, he kinda looks like jin from samurai champloo….only he smiles a lot.
-
Just how powerful is he?
-
Powerful enough to "not cut a piece of paper" strong! But I think he can cut steel.
-

Perhaps he is stronger than zoro is right now , i mean you never know.
-
Yah probably. Heck Zoro's sensei could probably cut diamonds too!
-
I actually like Kuina's father a lot… I really enjoy it when there are flashbacks from Zoro's past with him involved (as in the Mr. 1/Zoro battle). It was him who trained him after all, let him have Kuina's sword and who gave him lifelong advice that turned out to be super important for him... but I wonder if Oda would really deal with HIS past. I don't really think so :)
-
Is his name ever mentioned?
-
@Green:

I don't think so.
-
I think it is mentioned…
Yep, just checked, One Piece Blue pg. 37 in the Italian version...
Yushiro. -
Yushiro, huh? Cool. Thanks very much Vivi.
-
i wouldnt mind finding out more about him. but i doubt that oda will show moere of him outside of zoro flashbacks like the one right before zoro cut steal
-
I'd like to see Zoro's Sensei be shown as a Shichibukai in a concealed ninja outfit (Think Yoroi from Naruto), then if and when he goes to face Zoro, he eventually reveals who he is.
-
would you all be for or against the anime doing it as a filler arc, something like the pre-fatherhood years?
-
I always liked the theory that he killed Kuina for some reason. It probably never happened, but it'd still be interesting.

Yeah, because she was getting closer and closer to becoming a true female swordsman and her father wanted to keep tradition.
-

No prob XD
He killing Kuina… er... geez, that really would have been evil of him... nah, guess she just died of that weird accident... -
@_Vivi_:

Maybe not that weird if you think about it. He could have been jelous of Kuina's abilities and secretly feared that she would one day surpass him. That's why he tries to discourage her with the idea that a woman can't be a great swordsman, but because of Zoro she decides to pursue her dream anyway so her dad decides now he has to kill her to keep her from surpassing him. He took on Zoro as a student because he didn't figure Zoro would go too far seeing as how he couldn't even beat Kuina. Not too likely, but certainly possible.
-
Oh, come on! There has to be significance to him in the story besides Zoro's Sensei. Remember, not all of the Shichibukai have been revealed yet (at least not to my knowledge) and Yushiro could be one of them! You never know!
-
There must be more to Kuinia's death then meets the eye.
-
Zoro would definitely freak out if he had to face him in the future, even though I think that would double his will to defeat him actually, to show how strong he would have become.
But it's really difficult for me imagining him as a Shichibukai.Yeah probably so, referring to Kuina's death… the way it occurred is way too mysterious...
-
Well, remember in Zoro's first flashback when it showed Kuina's Father talking to someone while Kuina was eavesdropping? He could've been a representative for the Shichibukai!
-
It it possible that kuinia and/or Zoro had some relations with Mihawk that they might or might now have been aware of?
-
It is very possible. Who knows? Maybe MiHawk was visiting the Dojo all those years ago before he offered Kuina's father the position?
-
I know kuinia is dead but did we actually SEE kuinia fall down the stairs? It's been a long time.
-
That's exactly my point!
-
It is possible that we might see Kuina's father in an arc before the end of OP. Somehow, there seems to be too many unrevealed things about Kuina's death and her similarity to Tashigi. Who knows, maybe Tashigi is her twin sister.

And that would freak out Zoro even more XD
But I agree, that's too much mystery lying around Kuina's father and the death of Kuina herself… whenever I see that ep I just can't help thinking that there's definitely something we're not aware of... -
Something about kuinia always seemed mysterious, like she was hiding a deep dark seceret. Some of these things has to relate to zoro's past. From what i've seen of that episode zoro never had a village before he joined to Dojo. And even if he did he probaley didn't like them very much or vice-versa be cause he stayed in kuinia's village with no problem. Perhaps his village was burned or invaded/ Or it could be that his past doesn't matter, but thats what i thought about luffy's(exluding him and shanks) until Aokiji.
-
You guys got to be joking… Zoro sensai evil... that will never happen. Hes a great sensai and maybe we will see him in flashbacks but him being evil is like zoro and sanji getting along and Zoro calling sanji by his name and Nami falling for Sanji!! As far as Kunia death maybe its a twist that a powerful swordwoman dies that easily and nobody defeated her hence power isnt everything.... plus what kept zoro going when we first met him it was the fact that he wanted to keep his promise!!!
-
In fact I mentioned it, it's difficult for me to imagine him as being an evil person.
But what still bugs me is the way Kuina died… -
Zoro's sensei's name is actually Koushirou; it's in OP Blue ^^; …

Really? Then it's a question of translations then, here (I've got OP Blue right in front of me) it's Yushiro (I thought I was seeing things and rechecked :P)

I agree with you there is no way he is evil. However it does seem like he's keeping some dark seceret.

Is yours translated or is it in Japanese ? The katakana for ko and yu look really similar:
ko: コ
yu: ユMine's a Japanese copy and having taken Japanese classes for a few years now I can definitely tell you it's Koushirou
-
The way of the samurai…. hide your emotions... rule number 13

I've got the italian copy, so probably they must have messed up the katakana XD (In fact they sound similar :D)
Sorry if I gave you guys the incorrect version +P blames the italian translators -

Again, proving my point that Koshirou had something to do with Kuina's death and the possibility that he is a Shichibukai.
-
I can see 'mysterious death with more to it', but I think Shickabukhai is way off in Speculation Land (capital: Raftel City. :D). The sensei would have to be able to forsee where Zoro's path would lead for years in advance, which seems implausible. The most defining moment of his life, after all, wasn't anything to do with his swordfighting, but the kicking of a dog (which sets up his imprisonment and the joining of Luffy's crew)
-
these are probably some of the most far-fetched theorys ive ever seenXD
-
@Green:

This page is your friend when it get´s so such questions. As far as his name is concerned, it was never mentioned in the manga but in One Piece Blue and it´s Koshiro.
-
Ginkan, I seriously dought he is one simply because there already is a swordsman. BTW would they be called shcichbukai since there are only six of them now?
-
@Octogon:

Well the World Government is looking for a replacement now doesn´t it? And since the Gorousei say that they can´t take not even one whole lightly because the entire world would fall appart if the balance between the Three Super Powers is disturbed I´m sure that they don´t have any interest in "Six Armed Seas".

I know that, I was just wondering.
-
I didn't take Crocodile into consideration…
-
zoro's sensei is actually darth sidious and zoro is darth maul before the tattoes and the horns..
-
YAh and Kuina is actually Darth Vader in disguise to fool you all thinking that she was actually dead :P
-
Ok…
raises hand I shan't not think anymore that Kuina's death has something mysterious behind it, and that Zoro's sensei is just a normal, calm and respectful teacher...
:D -
Aizen Koushiro had Kuina go under the guise of Tashigi in a conspiracy set up to make Zoro one of their half-Hollow allies.
