Yeah. This is the type of filler they should do every week. It helps with the pace.
Hey, look at that, I liked the little filler that showed those bags, smart filler is good, obvious padding is bad.
Good episode. Everything was good really, it wasn't as painfully slow as last week, it looked fine enough, there was a bit of every side too. The chapters of PH felt too crammed at times, I feel like it's one thing the anime can make better.
I couldn't give any less shits about Law if I tried, so that aside, not much else happened. The first half moved at about the same pace as a horde of quadriplegic turtles stampeding through peanut butter. Animation and art also continue to be all over every place. So .. yeah.. this episode happened. I think.
On a side note, does Brownbeard have a different voice actor? I remember him sounding less deep and more.. hoarsely back in Foodvalten.

Although it feels like not much happened in this episode, I enjoyed it enough. Can't wait for next week .
Man I was waiting for a comedy gag the way they had Smoker breathing without his gas mask for a good 30 seconds or so. Although it was really awesome to hear Hiroshi Kamiya as Law again!

Despite having personal issues with Law, I kinda would have preferred that they did not show him talking to CC to make his reveal more effective to anime watchers. However, I am surprised that Toei was faithful to his manga panel appearance (they usually like to do it their own style)

Anyway, haven't watched the episode yet but reading the comments has got me quite pumped. Should be nice hearing Law's voice again.
I bring up padding a lot, but this episode honestly felt like 20 minutes of a whole-lot-of-nothing happening until Law showed up.
Even then I think Toei really took away from the quality of his entrance by inserting a talk with CC and then showing 10 shots of his feet/shoulders/hands/hem of coat before finally "YES IT'S TRAFALGAR LAW"

I thought this was a pretty good episode, Law part was cool though.
It's a Deguchi episode, so expectations are already pretty low. However, this one had decent art, decent animation, decent filler, decent pace. Overall, decent episode. I'm starting to like how Deguchi's team draws those reactions shots of the Marines. Actually quite a bit is revealed in this episode: Brownbeard's crew, the hazmut goons being "sheep," Law not only being on the island but also being a shichibukai and working for "Master," etc.
Also, am I having selective memory loss, or have these Punk Hazard episodes started using new background music for this arc? Specifically the jazz and rock music.
I guess no one else found Brook's reactions while fighting the torso amusing.
Best part of the episode, actually. Love how he was trying to convince the torso that he was only there to make snowmen and invited him to snow sculpt. The voice acting during that whole scene was great.

Some of it is new, but most of it is just old soundtracks we haven't heard in awhile.

The only track that appears to be new is the one for "Master" that someone described as sounding like an old video game track. And you KNOW it's new because they keep playing it every fucking time the character is on screen without fail.

It's nice to be here again. :happy: I already got worried if it was the end of Arlong Park as we know it.
Anyway it was a nice episode. Nothing noteworthy happened but nothing was terrible either. Showing how Law became a shichibukai was a nice touch but I really didn't like the fact that those hearts were still beating. It was much more intriguing for Law's character when you couldn't know if his victims were alive or not.
I had low expectations for this episode, but it had enough comedy with Ussop, Broke and the G-5 marines that I found it very entertaining! Also wasn't expecting the Law appearance at the end. The animation was great! Perhaps next episode will be the one that really drags, this one was fine.
If I had to guess, the viewers watching this who haven't read the manga chapters have found this arc very enjoyable thus far, anyone here? If it wasn't for the switching between each character's scenarios constantly it would be very tedious. A lot of people seem to complain that the beginning of the arcs drag, but really it's the battles toward the arc's climax that drag. Remember Enies Lobby, Impel Down and Fishman Island?
So about the pacing of the episodes with the arc thus far, they managed to go 1 chapter behind the 1ep-1chap pacing, there's a one week break, and then there is the crossover special next month.
So the anime is slowly distancing itself from the manga again, but then there's also the week break Oda is taking off, and I might not have counted the previous break. So who knows really?
BTW does anyone know of that chapter to episode guide someone made? It was a large list hosted on some website a while back.
I really liked the way Law made his appearance, it reminds of of how Mihawk unexpectedly showed up at Mariejois just as Law has on PH, and they even played the same music. Even though the anime added a few scenes before they appeared so it didnt seem so unexpected in the anime but anyways it made me kinda reminisce back to that scene.

What? We already knew way back in Saboady that none of Law's victims die when he uses his fruit powers on them.

To be honest you're one of the very very few people I constantly see posting positives in this thread. I agree the brook scenes were hilarious and I also liked how they made Ussop actually try to convince Brownbeard that they were there to help(which is in fact why they are on the island in the first place)something the manga didn't address.
I found all the little fillers to be nice and if I was honest if I only watched the anime I would have been pretty excited by this episodes. Do we even have members who don't read the manga?
