It's probably about their environments. They all seem to excel at one thing more than others. Which make them King in their environments. I would not like to think Battle Wolf can just go and rape Heracles. Well, saying this, I can't even remember why Heracles would be stronger next to Air.

Fire Ape looks a proper badass though.

What powerup? They've just learned Enbu, but they were able to beat Goritaurus before without any effort. I think individually, they are around lvl 1500 now with their demons or even more (the normal demon, Blue is much higher in Toriko's case). And yeah, they're still no match for Bambina, but if they combine their strenghts + proper usage of Enbut, they might entertain the monkey king for a little while.

I totally would read a story about nine monkey with great designs surviving in a harsh eco system. -
Better yet, make an rpg with those monkeys as the main party.
The character designs are the best thing in Toriko, by far.

Don't care about the chapter, but I hope in the future when they remake the Toriko anime, the theme song is like something from the 60s and it ends with the singer yelling out "With fists full of appetite/We punch with all we've got!"

well toriko has always been very weird with power rankings, so i'll just roll with it. Going from getting owned to owning isn't anything new. At least the training arcs are creatively varied and short, relatively speaking for shounens.
and so we're at the point where 800-1000 captures levels are just meh, we're already up to 6000s due to the 8 kings. Remember when the galala crocodile (CL. 5-8) was around?

In truth, the 4 beast never had a chance to wipe out the human world. There were more fighters capable of taking care of it besides the 4 heavenly kings like Mansam and others. Everybody just left it to them because it was good for their development.
In fact, if there was no one else, Jirou would step up. And with him, these monkeys would be screwed.

any CL. 1000 monkeys would lose any impact (shit factor) after we saw the CL. 6000 8-kings' footprints.
and it was long established they human world doesn't taste delicious enough for any GW monsters to care, the 4beast being an exception as humans were explicity stated to be their food.
so yeah the possibility that they could wipe out human world isn't really impressive in any way at this point.
1000 is like the new average? i mean they already have their sights set on the 6000s now…
