Where are my Kitaro's references
Toriko II: Ichiryuu's Slimy Insides!!
-
-
Absolutely fantastic chapter this week
-
Buranchi ges no respect.
-
Except the Terraformars* reference, everything else was fantastic. ALMOST makes me forgive Shima for the labyrinth fiasco. I knew he wouldn't disappoint with Bewitching Food World, and for someone who got introduced during my demonized Cooking Fest, I was surprisingly happy to see Buranchi, and I liked how Shima constantly pulled him back to build up a freaking gag. Good shit.
*I fucking hate Terraformars and everything it stands for, so there's that. Nothing else.
Seemed like I was the only one who hates that series.
–--
Still, such a good chapter. Kinda wish they had a One Piece reference in there considering how Shima and Oda are buds.

Yeah, considering the references weren't limited to Youkai (though they're the vast majority), a Thriller Bark resident would've merged perfectly with the crowd.

wait a moment…mars exists in the torikoverse?
nevermind, I haven't read Terra Formars, but I guess if there is anyone who could get rid of mutant cockroaches it would be Toriko and Co.
Main antagonistic force in one manga, manageable pest control in the other -

Main antagonistic force in one manga, manageable pest control in the otherTo be fair, those cockroachs in TerraFormars are stupidly overpowered and literally decimate everything; even harder than the Titans decimate things in Attack on Titan. I've only read the first…20 or so chapters of the series though (20 to 30), so I don't know if the cockroachs are fodder now.
Also. The dude is in the Gourmet World, so...
-
Good chapter. Not feeling it as much as everyone else but I did have a few good laughs. Is that thing in the tin can ALIVE?

Preview of the new Toriko fan book 29.5
http://www.s-manga.net/omf/omf_978-4-08-880132-2.html -
Looks like we are getting a very much needed timeline!
-
If somebody buys that Fanbook, let me know if there's anything interesting in it. I read the first book, the Gourmet Hunting Book, and that was basically just like the One Piece data books where it's essentially a summary of stuff in the manga. Rarely any new info.
-
Surprised no one commented about the most important bit of info in the chapter: someone we know very well is alive and kicking.

What, you mean Melk? I wasn't all that surprised, honestly. The guy is clearly a beast.

I wasn't all that surprising though, you would usually have signs if a character is confirmed dead or not.
-
I browsed around looking for ANY info regarding 29.5 and stumbled onto some twitter comments, in japanese. According to the not so trusty yet better than nothing google translator, we are getting the name of Zonge´s followers.
-
according to natalie (site), the fanbook has beast/ingredients drawn by mangakas: Akira Toriyama, Eiichiro Oda, Masashi Kishimoto, Naoshi Komi (Nisekoi), Tachibana Kenichi (Terra Formars), Nakama Ryo (Isobe), Tadatoshi Fujimaki (Kuroko no Basuke), Yusei Matsui (Ansatsu), and also has the profiles for more than 180 characters that we didn't get the profiles for. i hope i'm reading it right

Are there that many relevant characters in Toriko?
-
They don't really have to be relevant. We could get info about chefs in the top 100, fodder Bishokukai members, etc…
Speaking about character data, is there anywhere where I can find the extra content of the volumes? A while ago, I searched for it on the wiki but I found nothing, I guess they have it somewhere?
-

Ya, just like Devil G. mentioned, they don't have to be relevant. They'll be the characters we see every once in a while, and ya, I heard it'll have the top 100 chefs all. Not sure.

which extra content are u talking about exactly?
-
Character data and stuff like that, I thought they also included sketches sent to Shima by fans, but I'm probably wrong.
-
Are there that many relevant characters in Toriko?
There are still plenty of characters that they could do that have already been established in this series.
-
180 characters? Oh boy oh boy oh boy
I really really REALLY need the data of the remaining branch chiefs, and several IGO chefs
@Devil G: Go here. They have the character data up to volume 24.
-
That was fun chapter but I didn't expect the cockroach from Terraformars. I rarely see cross-magazine references so that was a surprise. It looked like having eyeballs in nearly everything is a gag in this place. I wonder if Sani would starve in this arc. It would be ironic if there was an ingredient super compatible with him here but it would be the most disgusting thing he ever saw.
-
I bet Cedre would love this place, with eyeballs everywhere. Maybe he´s somewhere around.
-
lol yeah he indeed will XD
anyway did someone send drawings?
-
Any chance of getting scans for the mangaka ingredients?
-
Thanks for the scans! Really appreciate it

New Toriko chapter: http://www.batoto.net/read/_/249356/toriko_ch281_by_hi-wa-mata-noboru
-
LOL @ Branchi and the Daruma Hermit
-
I laughed my fucking ass off at that gag. And "Brocken Junior", of all things. Holy shit.
Chapter was short, but super sweet. And compared to the diarrhea fest that were Naruto and Bleach, this was pure ambrosia made manga.
-
OLD MANNNNNNN!
The worst part of this chapter is the announcment of next week's break.
Anyways, great chapter. There's a some good ol' Midora thrown in, and the Daruma Hermit is well… when you own a horse that big you're allowed to be goofy.
-
Branchi is just hilarious, I love his character. Loved the scenes of him and the Daruma Hermit. Great chapter and I hope we get to learn more about what happened in-between the skip.
-
the death gags are in poor taste otherwise overall decent chapter.
I guess going directly for AIR this early is probably a good idea writing wise.
-
-
Daruma Hermit is adorable
the "dirty old man" characters in anime and manga is really getting old, though.
-
The Daruma Hermit is simply adorable, I already love him.
-
man, Buranchi was just being nice back then, Elg is way uglier than the the daruma hermit
anyway, good chapter
but why is Melk missing his arm though, isn't that like a minor problem in the world of Toriko, I mean the main character grew his arm back twice so far -
^Not really
!
-
Awwww man, at first I thought we had 2 new chapters of Toriko but lo' and behold it was just a late translation by Mangastream. Oh well, this was a great chapter. I think the dying gag went on for a little too long and would have worked better with a few panels left out but that's a very minor complaint.
With all these powerful characters showing up and some explanation on how to get 'Air' and whatever happened 1 1/2 years ago. Next chapter looks to be promising.
-
The Death-gag should've just been two fakeouts instead of three, but was still funny. Unintelligible Jora-interruption of the maze aside, Toriko has been nailing adventure, action an comedy ever since the Thousand Tako set sail for the New Gourmet World.
-
I can't be the only one who noticed the TerraForMars reference XD
!
They went and put that cockroach monster in there XD

another old pervert….
-
Aw, that's awesome. There's a Takeshi crossover thingy in that 29.5 book. I really wanna read that. I might try scanlating it if we can, like if it's just one short thing.
-
Huh. There are even Oda, Toriyama, Kishimoto, Sasuga and Tachibana (Terra Formars), Matsui (AssClass), Fujimaki (Kuroko), and Komi (Nisekoi) tributes in the fanbook.
-
how many times did toriko been on a hiatus this year?
-
Not that many times afaik
-
'I was not the only one that wa "saved".' Ummm?
-
A friend made a translation of the Toriko timeline provided by the fanbook.
Brunchy won his Cooking Festival at age 12!!
