One Piece Collectibles v.9 Main Discussion - "Remember when they weren't named ?"

I got some cool new plastic step shelves today, and my GLM collection is looking pretty good on them. But at this point I have almost 20 of them not to mention several other Banpresto DX figures, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that the bases are TOO BIG.

So, I'm thinking of making custom rectangular bases for my GLM, probably with some thin strips of wood from the craft store, but I'm not sure how to go about adding holes for the foot pegs. Anybody have some ideas for that? Maybe with a tiny drill bit or something? Any tips would be appreciated and I'll be sure to post pics of whatever I come up with.

Somebody else did this in the past, can't remember who it was off the top of my head. They drilled holes into the shelves themselves however.

I keep seeing that Nami Strong World ending scene POP for pretty cheap on Manda, I can't decide if I should buy her or not. She looks pretty nice in your collection, she has some nice legs.

Fantastic Nami Collection Alina. I'm tempted to get more Nami stuff, but there is just to much. I've settled on just getting the figures I like. Your Hancock collection looks even bigger than mine. Though I avoid getting Panson (not really my style) or the small truly fugly (in my eyes) items. Missing a handful of figures to get it complete to where I'm happy with. It's also nice to see another mini Keimi shrine. I hope one day she gets a POP. I really should take a photo of my shrine shelves.

ok I'm kinda pissed right now … >< Just got my cute lil limited Chopper with his candy cotton. I unpacked him .. and as I wanted to switch his bodies, the one neck joint broke. Just like that. As if that wasn't bad enough, no .. his lower body part doesn't fit with the other body. I'm not sure why but it seems like the joint and the hole are just not made for each other. After my experience with the head joint I thought I'd rather not use any force so I used my exacto knife to make the hole bigger. It does fit now but hellohoo Megahouse .. what kind of quality is that?! >< Gonna send them an email and ask for replacement.

On there base, a tiny logo is on it to represent the different chess piece, by who is who.

Considering they put Chopper, an animal that could be ridden like a horse and weilding a lance as a Pawn? And Robin as a Bishop or something. Likely Crocodile will be the chess piece that is the equivalent to the chess rule book.

uuhh… wow. i just saw this picture, and Robin looks WAAAY too tall.. even to the point where she seems completely out of scale..

So I'm guessing the last 2 chess piece for set 3 will be Boa and Moria. I'll have to buy it just for Boa heh. I love these chess figs and the quality is great. I have set 1 and set 2 should arrive soon.

It may seem that way at first glance but keep in mind Nami is 5'6 1/2 while Robin is a whopping 6'2. She's very tall. xD

Nami's also wearing high heels though, so that wouldnt make too much of a difference. plus Robin's leaning on the leg in the back, her closest foot is extended so there's less weight there, making it look like her heels are taller than they really are. or at least that's the impression i'm getting from the pictures.

a quick calculation shows that Nami would have to be 5'2 for the POP's proportions to make sense. i guess it's not that bad, but it's still noticeable as Nami isn't that short. oh well.

The quality is nothing amazing, but for the size pretty decent.

Hancock will for sure be one of them. Croc and Dofla look surprisingly good.

Is she on her toes, or is she just wearing high heels is the question I'd like to know. She looks about as taller than her Neo, but not that much. She had flat shoes on her Neo mind you. I should put my one next to Nami to compare.

robin is just out of proportions. nami is 20cm shorter, but they made her some 30cm instead…

Damn! Looks like I was wrong after all. With those dimensions, HS certianly won't be able to ship SAL. I'll have to get it combined EMS with Robin after all.

About Usopp being tanned, yeah he is but the tone depends of how he was taken in the photos. Let's wait for more images.

Yeah, I mean I made the mistake of having Zoro & Kizaru shipped combined EMS back in Jan as I just wanted them both so much!! (They were probably the last 2 figures I really got excited about) and that cost me 6,200 yen (Up to 3,000 g) So considering Kizaru's size, cape, etc, I'm hoping Usopp & Robin will only weigh in at Up to 2,500 g so 5,400 yen (with 50% off i'll be happy with 2,700 yen combined shipping)

i'm displaying him with his backpack, i find it hard to switch his upper body up and i don't wanna break the peg so i don't wanna take a risk, i took some pics at least!

Most of the people I've spoken too did not manage to swap his upper bodies .. coz the joint just doesn't fit the hole .. epic fail on Megahouse's part. I really like my DX Chopper but I'd have prefered a non-broken neck joint and the possibility to swapt the upper body without having to use an exacto knife. :getlost: Probably the last POP I ever bought. Yes I AM bitter.

yeah it was hard to made the upper body fit in, i don't like when you have to force to put something, i don't wanna break it so yeah it's the bad side of this chopper!

I must be really lucky. I was able to swap them out and everything fit fine. I do like this version of Chopper. Very cute and the best POP of him next to good old cashcow Chopperman.

With Usopp, that arm line is a big eyesore, but I don't think I've ever seen any company manage to do a well arm connection without using either some arm bands or clothing to hide the seam. It's a bit of a shame, but otherwise I'm fine with Usopp. Don't mind him tanned either, as I'd expect him to be.

FAZ Z Luffy isn't bad. I actually like his face, though what's up with the white chips. GLM Franky is very cool. Really hope we see his painted POP soon.

^makes me wonder if usopp has tan lines for his suspenders. Zoro and Luffy as well ^_^;; Zoro would always have a tan rectangle on his chest where his kimono/jacket/coat was open.

Chess R Collection 2 pics.

Their pretty nice, same quality and scale as set 1. I do have some problems, Zoro will not stay on his pedestal. I got him to stay long enough for pics but he fell once I touched him. His foot pegs refuse to stay in which causes him to fall over because of his pose. I'm going to have to glue them in or something. Franky has a similar problem but by not putting his hand peg in he will stay up. Finally Robin is really small, smallest one aside from Chopper in set 1. I have no clue why this is, she is a knight and yet her body thickness is the smallest of any of them. Then Luffy is huge, he looks out of place with the others. I don't understand why its so hard to pick a scale and stick with it. Its dissapointing but meh, she has some awesome leg cleavage atleast.
