w0w, AMAZINNNNNNNNNNNG CHAPTER!!!! Its been a while!!!!
Thanks a lot!
cant wait for this chapter to be animated, probably most orgasmicepisode ever
I call it, there will be one episode PER takedown, not all in one episode.
Nami = Lightning element
Sanji = Fire element
Brook = Ice element
Jinbe = Water element
Zoro = Wind element
Usopp = Plant element
Chopper = Earth?
Robin = ???
Franky = Metal element… if metal comprises of technology :ninja:
Luffy = No elementEdit: forgot Franky :sad:
Robin = Darkness element , I love Robin
all of the strawhats are just amazing, I like all of their new abilites! especially, boorks's and sanji's and, ussop's, ummm, franky's n chopper's! n zoro too! all of em, know what i'm sayin
this is just EPIC
Amazing showcase chapter.
1.) Brooks finish was the best one. Chills ran down my spine (no pun intended) after seeing that ghoulish face sheath his sword, and see the blood freeze up.
2.) Sanjis was a very close second and I felt his had the most passion. His fire was a nice contrast to Brooks ice. His final was sick enough to also give me chills.
3.) Franky will rank in at 3rd with the epic beam!! Looks like he's using some tech that the Pacifistas adopted from Kizaru.
4.) Usopp had a cool combo going on with all the plants and finally finishing with the Impact Wolf. I just hope Oda doesn't OD on the Pop Greens and we see some old school sniping methods.
5.) Zoros was a little underwhelming
6.) Choppers was the least exciting
But they were all excellent
Anyway it's great that things are wrapping up, now they'll just have to stuff mudpie back into a barrel and we can move on to the new world.
Hopefully some reaction shots from the big names of the new world, like WB's crew, Shanks, Buggy etc
We think alike…
I really hope we get to know all of usopp moves soon.
My ideal fight scenario would be knowing all of his plant effects but having to guess during a fight in what way he has to chain them so he can beat his opponent.
Which actually leads me to another gripe with his current abilities some of them are in serious need of real synergy, his finishing move looked quite cool but I can't imagine it being anything but a finishing move being all that big.
So can we confirm that "Impact Wolf" is actually an "Impact Dial" attached to a wolf shaped vine????? Cauuusssseee, that's what it looked like to me, and would explain the "Impact", shock wave, and diameter stuff. Also, it ties Usopp's old techniques into his new and if true, this attack is even more awesome!!
@$abZ:
Not a bad chapter. Pretty much confirms that the arc was just to show off the new and improved SHs. Stupid the way Zoro eased past Hyouzou. Really struggle to see the point of Hyouzou's reversal of Luffy's attack earlier, followed by Luffy's comment that he wasn't an ordinary guy. Oda put that in randomly and then treated Hyouzou with the same respect, if not less respect, than the other NFPs.
And WTFs with Wadatsumi's pubes? lol
He just recognized he is strong, just like Luffy did with Hody, problem is the SHs are on another level of strong.
…This song playing while rereading the chapter = "End of the New Fishman Pirates"
I almost teared up lmao, it's so sad.
Nami = Lightning element

Why is this post getting so many replies?
Sweet chapter, I hope we get Nami and Robin next. I know this is not going to happen but I'm going to hold onto my hope that they weren't featured in this chapter because they are going to do something even more epic next chapter.,
Nami = Lightning element

seriously Luffy=No element? Luffy is Rubber Element

And Usopp… my biggest disapointment. Plant-based powers are ALWAYS my favorite, so I was quite happy when he appeared using plants in SA and couldn't wait to see more of his new fighting style. But, honestly, I didn't like what I saw now, those plants looked really lust-lacking and that wolf... it just doesn't have a "plant" feeling doesn't matter how I look at it. Maybe if it was colored and I saw it all green it would help.…
Good Idea! I've started on one pic, will be adding more as I go on …So here's version 1 and no way complete http://s1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc415/Katzztar/?action=view¤t=ImpactWolfprofile.png
I agree with Deicide with regards to Usopp. His attacks seem to be too diverse, even if that last attack did incorporate an impact dial. Every single attack he's used so far has been different, and I find that a little troubling. First root plants, then plant trampoline, then wolf attack. I don't like it much.
I'm not thinking of how diverse the thing is, I'm seeing how it blends into each other= Roots trip/wrap up enemy to make him fall one trampoline that makes him bounce into area for large finishing move. Besides, Usopp has shown a larger varity before= use rotten egg to cove smell of gas, flash dial covers the throwing of caltrops, throwing stars made Luffy dodge, that dodging made him fall (on realy on) the caltrops he didn't see being fired.
So really varity has always been part of Usopp's arsenal.
Although I do really like some of his old attacks and hope to see them again, like the dials and Firebird star
I took this as Usopp putting the Impact Dial in the nose.
I was happy to see the 'impact' in Impact Wolf but I would be very surprised if the nose was an impact dial for one reason … thre is no garantee tht he can recover the dial after use in a battle field. Any sort of thigns could happen, from it fallign into a deep hole, enemy destroy/steal it, or crew havignt o make a hasty getaway. To use an Impact Dial that way would to be consider the dial as 'throw aways' and tehy are too rare to be treated that way. Until Oda shows that it is a dial and Usopp has a way to recover it, I can not imagine the dial being used in the Impact Wolf .... even though my inner fangirl really, REALLY wants it to be one.

Well… the chapter didn't live up to the hype the spoilers created, to be honest. I was underwhelmed by most of it :/
I really like Brook's ice based attacks and his final haiku was priceless!
Franky's beam was pure awesomeness in its more raw state!But them aside…
Chopper's Palme and Zoro's slash (sry, I never remember his attacks names) are just that generic. Zoro's attack seems like something we saw him doing thousands of times already.
Jinbe's Buraikan and Sanji's Hell Memories are quite uninteresting as well as I have the feeling we always knew they could do that.
Maybe if it was colored and I saw it all green it would help...Anyways, at least I am pretty sure we are faaar away from seeing the strongest techniques of them all, it's like they are not using even 25% of their powers to do those last attacks.
I know that it's just your opinion man….but what part of engulfing your body in flames and kicking a giant, whose body also becomes engulfed in flames, is fucking uninteresting?
You either hate action, or you set your standards way too high. The hype from the spoilers literally got it's ass kicked by the actual chapter. Underwhelming? What kind of shit is that?
I think some of you guys need to cut Usopp some slack.
We still don't know the full extent of his skills yet.

I don't think that's valid. Action is at its best when it surprises us and has suspense built there was no surprise to be had nor suspense built from/for most of the displayed move.
If great action is just determined by flashiness(yeah i don't think micheal bay movies have great action, boom) than I guess I'm in the I like bad action club.
That said I don't deny that flashiness can still be alot of fun but I'll always prefer the former.
Now I can't go through this chapter again without Super Mario World in the background. Now, play this while you read and join me.
I dare you not to laugh.
Caribou is going to be DEFEATED BY NAMI AND ROBIN. TWO WOMEN…......................
….
What's up with the bold?
I'm sorry if this offends anyone but this chapter was beyond awesome, it was jizztacular!!! a chapter better then any one night stand…. okay maybe not that much
EDIT: guys robins elements aqre flowers too

It was an ad hominem. I was just questioning why he thought the chapter was underwhelming lol.
This chapter was sooo worth the wait 3
holy balls, that was great. when Brook did his finisher, I was all, "are we seriously going to get non-stop consecutive spreads showing the SH's new moves?"
and then it happened, and I made a face like Chopper did when he saw Franky's beam.

We can hope so, if its a mobile vine, that would give Usopp a way to retrieve the dial so its not lost. But we can not confirm it unsell Oda shows its a vine+dial combo. Without Oda showingmore to it, its just speculation. I've begun to color one panel of the Impact wolf and the nose stands out some from the head but no more details are showing. I've not desided how to color the nose yet. http://katzztar.deviantart.com/#/d4ge63b

That would be indeed very redeeming. the possibilities of plant/dial combos are quite alluring.
Only problem it's nose looks nothing like a impact dial to me.
Zany killer plants > rotten eggs and rubber bands.
I would like to know other manga/books/shows the common critics of every chapter around here read/watch.
That was amazing. Every spread was great, agree that Zoro's was a little underwhelming but obviously purposefully so – still annoyed by Hyouzou's treatment -- there wasn't a single thing that wasn't over the top badass.
Sanji won the whole thing for me, he and Brook are tied at the top, with Brook edging out ahead with that last magnificent line of his.
Time will tell but I agree with the camp saying they liked Usopp's practical attacks more.
I really don't care about any of that right now though because that was just freakin' awesome.
Now I'm REALLY interested in what lies ahead... <3
Ok, everything about the chapter have been said by now.
Not my favourite of the arc, but it was definitely a feast for the eyes. Oda's art is back in incredible form. Also, Brook is going so up the scale in this arc, I don't know how he will top this from now on.
Usopp is also amazing, and while I share some of you guys concerns that these Pop Greens are too convenient (this one explodes, this one is carnivorous, this one stinks. . .), they are quite consistent with what Usopp was doing before, but kind of. . .easier? Still, that last Explosive Wolf Plant was still a sniping technique, Usopp is still a sharp shooter, and hell, it looked the best out of all the attacks in this chapter.
Apart from that, I'm still more excited for what's to come: Noah explanation, Joy Boy, possible Reverie, Caribou, how the whole hate thing will warp up. . .
Soo. . .All in all cool chapter.
So the chapter title was FROG after all. Poor Hyouzou at the bottom of the well… :P
I'll warn in advance. I will go negative on this again.
I'll be "short" about it:
Too much of "double" spreads and finishing moves in one chapter - gives the wibe of unreal, which is in a way logical since we are afterall reading a shounen manga but non the less feels for me, personally, too much like a fan service device.
So we saw bunch of new K.O. moves which were layed on the display like there is a contest on who'll show his moves first and in a more cool manner. But hey, I was one of the rare people here who didn't ask and was interested in one on one fights to begin with and be imagining who will fight who combos. I am more of a guy who likes the old fashioned reality which is, in combat its fight all over even if it means 3 versus one and exchange of slashes and kicks and what not between various opponents. Which is something we have seen not so long ago at the grand war when everyone was involved in a battle with everyone and you couldn't just isolated it to 1 vs 1 fights.
But yeah ok, other than that, what did we see this chapter? Other than the finishing moves, cool sentences and lovely display of drawing. Did we see anything other than that in terms of story progression? In terms of adding something new to the entire scene. As I was approaching page "13" on manga stream I was sure that after Zoro's fight we'll see some cliff hanger some resolution to what may happen to Noah or what not. We did not, which quite possibly means that entire next chapter will be about it and we get a cliffhanger from that.
Well but that's me and probably that is the reason I haven't been enjoying this last arc. It's not about the new moves, the flashy display not even the fight scenes. I have seen it all, similar situation happened on enies lobby. We have seen gear 2 and 3 there and whatnot. But it all looked better, it felt like the story progressed with decent pace, the fights seemed more authentic even if it was 1 vs 1 all over again. I liked thriller Bark for the same reason as well. There you would have people randomly being attacked by foes and than it could be 1 vs 1 or few vs few and so on, it seemed natural. Here this… Idk it does not
"I'll say it in a harsh version this time around. I have seen enough of flashy-flashy I ll see it when the time is right in the new world or some grave danger approaches, until then, everybody just pack your bags, save this god damn underwater island with irony for its theme and head over to the New World. I am ready to turn over a new page, new chapter, New world"
But yeah, that wont happen for a while, it sure felt better saying/ writing it out though. I liked the start of this arc, I felt it is promising, but as soon as vilains were shown, there motives displayed and the history of this island was presented I was probably one of the few under 1% people who was facepalming and saying oh boy, this wont be the kind of ride/read I would have expected after this 2 years and the hype I got after I felt the entire manga and story has taken a huge step in the right direction after the war at marineford.
Sorry guys, that is my opinion, as always you are free to skip it or ignore it. It looks like I am and will continue to be that black sheep, that "pessimist" on the board, for at least some time in the future.
Blue out - continue with praise

Nah,I don't think that all of usopps attacks have to be chained.Probably this one,and a few other attacks,maybe,but I'm sure he's got a ton of awesome attacks he can summon instantly,like the devil plant.Daruma is a small fry that Usopp was toying with.Cause Usopp was on an island always being attacked by man-eating beetles,etc,he's got way more attacks.
@Baou:

It's not about having to chain them but rather that chaining them in different ways would be more interesting(well at least for me) then having him pulling some uberplant out of nowhere.

For all we know he has a "Pop Green" that pops out a Man eating beatle
The Nami and Robin stare at Franky's beam sold this episode for me XD
I dont get some people they happily admit the nfp are fodder but expect a long drawn out fight against them, i for one kinda understand what oda is trying to do he is trying to familiarise us the readers with the strawhats again by showing us there new moves, thus creating more suspence in future fights, this is just the beginning of the new adventure.
Also cheer up some people missing ussops old fighting style he still has the exploding grass which i think is a good improvent. he will probably use that from now on to snipe people.
OHHH MAHAHHAH GAWWWDD
BROOK IS TEH EPIICCCC>
Sanji FTW~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and
FRANKY LAZER BEAAAAAAM!!!
For all we know he has a "Pop Green" that pops out a Man eating beatle
Would explain how the beetles got on Sabaody.
The Nami and Robin stare at Franky's beam sold this episode for me XD
:) the womens stare is becoming much of a gag reaction as Usopp slapping one of th strawhats that are annoying him(so far done to Franky and Luffy) It's amusing
Hey, cool, the snake from Skypiea's on the cover. (his name escapes me)
Short chapter, but holy crap, those attacks were awesome. Brook, Usopp, Chopper, Franky, Jinbei, Sanji, and Zoro…..jesus, I was surprised when Oda actually did spreads for each of their new finishing techniques (Brook and Sanji's were my favorite).
I'll warn in advance. I will go negative on this again.

agree with you in most of this part. I liked the arc in the begin too, but it became lame in my opinion , because it seems like a wasted of 40 chapters seeing SH defeating their opponents that easily. Everyone expected more from the opponents , especially Hyouzou who turned the more flop of all. We haven't even seen the poison attack he had used against Luffy, where everyone expected a bit of a struggle for zoro(Luffy acknowleged his stength). I don't know what everyone thinks ( actually i do know ) but i think this arc is kind of delay to see what REALLY happens in the world,while we watch some "frog" fishmen fight for nothing. I mean this battle could have ended 10 chapters before this one if everyone used a good move , and the story could have progressed faster.
But the truth is i kind of liked the attacks, especially brook's
Anyway , one last question because i might have missed something. How come Hyouzou has all his swords again, while we have seen at least 3 of his 8 swords being vertically DESTROYED by zoro before 4 chapters ?
Hahaha,I'm guessing that the bungee cord is all the rubber-bands that Usopp gave them strung togther :D
Gaaah,I noticed that Brooks attack,is like an upgraded,soul-infused version of his signuture attack "Hanauta Sanchō: Yahazu Giri"
and Franky turning Ikaros(Who has awesome arrow hair) into roasted squid…In the most spectacular way! With a beam!!
Zoro was the only one who's attacks had translator notes.Bias much :ninja:
Franky has a Kamehameha now apparently
Hey, cool, the snake from Skypiea's on the cover. (his name escapes me)
Nola i think.
16 characters
What great chapter to come to after battling for Lincoln.
I didn't read everything, but the limitless types of POP greens caught my eye. I think we have seen 8 so far and of course that is not all that he has to offer. But considering the color spread that showed Usopp holding different types of ammo, I'm certain there is a limit. If we go one more arc with no previously learned attacks, then I say worry. Otherwise people would be complaining about him like they have about Zoro's overly similar techniques.
Anyone notice Franky's beam is the Pacifista mouth blast?

I thought it was 7 :getlost:…no you're right :happy: its 8! here's the Pop Green attacks we've seen so far=
1- Green Devil
2- Sargossa
3- Rafflesia
4- Bamboo Javelin
5- Exploding grass
6- Humandrake
7- Trampolia
8- Impact Wolf
I still don't understand how people say Zoro's attack wasn't impressive. He managed to 'Onigiri' some one who was behind him WITHOUT TURNING. He just ducked, while swinging his swords… How come its unimpressive?
Great chapter, loved the finishers. And the most interesting part of the arc is going to start... I always like the 'post' arcs.
And @ Blue chan... They were actually fighting fooders while mantaining the 1vs1. We saw them punch a random guy hear and there. Is just that they were so weak they could just ignore it. And the finishers took like what, 5secs? If they take that little time, its not unrealistic to see it in a spread... I like trading punches and all, but if you can one shot someone, why bother fighting him? Killing a rabbit with a bazooka is a good course of action, if you have a lot of bazooka shells...
What great chapter to come to after battling for Lincoln.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but its not that he has 8 or many or even infinite pop greens that make me dislike them. Its that it seems the pop greens are the ones that are doing all the work. It feels like he just shoots them in the general direction of the enemy and then the plant goes and beats up the enemy for usopp. Feels like he is a Grass Pokemon master.
