Lilly's pretty much said it all but I'll break it down.
@Tai:
It has always been my dream to create something amazing.
Don't worry about that or else you're gonna' burn out from trying to hard. You'll more likely to succeed if you love your work for what it is rather than trying to make it the best thing ever. You'll only frustrate yourself with the slow progress.
But since I live in America, I can't really make my own manga, nor do I have the money or resources to do that.
Make your comic in your own style and just use pen and paper. I only use a tablet and Corel program (which is what I've always had) and I've progressed tremendously from when I started out. Focus on your art and the tight budget will nary make a difference. Hell, even in the 'big leagues' low budget series like Digimon went miles ahead with interesting characters and premises (at least the first season). Even Pearls Before Swine used minimal art to succeed.
This is the story of an 18 year old boy, Akamira Shinnosuke. He is an incoming freshmen in Japan's largest and most popular college, Japan University. As he enters the school, he makes both friends and enemies, until one night he is caught up in a fight between greek life fraternity brothers.
After that night, Shinnosuke catches the eye of Japan University's most well-known, strongest, and popular fraternity - Sigma Phi Epsilon. As he enters the world of fraternities, he will go through many adventures, as well as "pledging" and brotherhood.
This by itself….doesn't really interest me, sad to say. We're open to new ideas in the Art and Writing section, but overall we respond a lot better to progress rather than just concepts. We can give you a lot more feedback if you show your work.
Good luck with your comic.
