Arrested Development is coming back with new episodes and a movie
-
-
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
2013? this probably means the mayans were right
-
I knew about the movie, it has been on imdb for a while now, but a goddamn new season?
This might just be the best thing to happen to television since, well, Arrested Development. -
I'm excited but I'll believe it when I see it. I love you arrested but you can't keep toying with my emotions like this, it's going on like 5 years.
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
This is indeed GREAT NEWS!!!!
-

This is exactly how I feel.
However, the cast confirming things with so much detail for once has me hopeful. I can only hope the quality is as great! -
Episodes?!?!?!
Holy shit I hope that's true. -
Holy shit O_o Best news ever \o/

Four seasons and a movie!
I literally jumped for joy when I first heard it, but I'm really trying to keep my expectations low. Like what Taggerrung said, while the creative minds (Hurwitz, the actors and actresses) are all for this, unfortunately there's a lot more factor needed for that, like funding, getting all the staff together, finding a good station to air it, etc. Really, I wonder if they have a kickstarter page? I've seen stuff that are nowhere near as good as AD get major funding from fans, I think if they're desperate they can use this too - as well as showing to execs that that there really is a strong fanbase supporting this.
And really, I pray to God that they won't suck when they return. Not all show revived from cancellation turn out good, not to mention that while Hurwitz is a brilliant mind behind AD, he's just one man and not the sole writer, who knows where they are now and whether they want to go back or not. Still, an off episode of AD is better and funnier than most things in AD, just keeping my expectations low to not get disappointed.
-
Leela: Thanks, guys. But let's be realistic. We all know any TV show that's even slightly good gets cancelled. Sometimes, two or three times.
-
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!?! P
-
Guess it goes to show you - there's always money in the banana stand.
-
Sooo stoked please dont f this up
-
-
I was just going to post the news!
-
I survived 2012 and watched Arrested Development the following day.
-
I hope it won't be a disappointment.
…
Wow, Netflix is behind this. Brilliant move, the industry wants to kill them but they refuse to die. Awesome.
-
cool but haven't seen this due to it's lack on Netflix
-
Never seen Arrested Development but I heard it was good. Nice for all the fans since I'm sure they were pissed when it got canceled.
-
6 seasons and a movie?
Anyway, this is great news. I really liked that show back in the day.
-
Who would have thought that…
-
Looks Like Arrested Development is now on Netflix my watch it later
-
Watching it on Netflix, so far I'm really enjoying it. Though its really weird seeing Micheal Cera in a younger role that I am getting used to.
-
Yeaaaaa chicken confirmed goodness

yeah! That's what I'm talkin about! Glad to see some people know great comedy ^_^
-
Sweet
-
Thanks for the videos, too bad they really didn't say much cept, the episodes aren't going to have the full cast interacting.
-
I don't usually like to bring back threads that have been inactive for a few months but I recently discovered the show. I honestly think I can say that it's my new favorite. I'm halfway through season two right now and I don't think there's one thing bad about this show. All the characters get their time in the spotlight, the interactions between them are perfect. This show is perfect.
I think Tobias has got to be one of the funniest characters in a sitcom in TV history.
-
Ladies and Gentleman, shooting on season 4 has started today!
-
I read somewhere that the idea for each episode focusing on one member of the Bluth family was scrapped. Also, some sort of photography was done a while back showing Bateman and Cera.
-
Hear that noise? Thats the sound of me bouncing off the walls!
-
For those in the US, there's a contest being held. The prize is that you get to be a walk-on in the show's fourth season!
Basically, you submit anything fanmade and creative about the show to the website and if they really like it you win!
The website: YoureGonnaGetSomeWalkons.comTimes like these make me wish I had artistic talent …
-
I just submitted this piece; though I don't think I'll win or anything.
-
You know, I think you have a good chance to win. I love that piece.
-
First official official pic with Conan and Andy. Fanboy squeal mode engage.
-
Sorry for the news-less bump, but I had an idea.
With the new season (hopefully) only a few months away, is anyone up for starting a (slowly-paced) series rewatch?
I actually haven't watched through the show in years, have planned on doing one since last year, but after the Lost rewatch managed to get a handful of new people into the show I figured we could try it with AD, as I'm sure there a lot of people here who actually haven't seen the show or want to watch it again.
So, anyone up for it?
-
I rewatched the show this Summer, but I'm totally down for watching it again (I'll try to be more verbal, unlike Lost where I was a mute). I'll probably get ahead of schedule since the show is addicting.
Still no launch date for season four? Gah, I want it today.
EDIT: http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/arrested-development/23809/more-arrested-development-season-4-episodes-ordered
So, like was previously discussed, the ten episode order has been extended (David Cross said they had enough material to do more so that's no surprise). Because of this new order the cast is set to film the new episodes in late January so… maybe we get the fourth season in March? It'd be a hell'uva birthday present for me. -
I'd be down for it since the show has less episode, less length, and I've already watched it once unlike Lost.
-
Yeah, a rewatch would be pretty cool, I'm down with that. Only watched every episode once, and that was years ago. I'll probably get a lot of more jokes anyway, was still a teen when I discovered AR, so it's probably even better than I remember.
-
I watched the whole show in about a month.
I will watch it again. :) -
Cool, I'll trow up a thread for it shortly, try to garner some more interest for it, and then we can figure out a schedule.
-
It´s been so long since i watched this, so i would be up for it.
-
I've come up with a schedule:
! –Season One Start--
Day 1: Pilot (Extended, if available), Top Banana, Bringing Up Buster
Day 2: Key Decisions, Visiting Ours, Charity Drive, My Mother, the Car
Day 3: In God We Trust, Storming The Castle, Pier Pressue
Day 4: Public Relations, Marta Conplex, Beef Consommé, Shock and Aww
Day 5: Staff Infection, Missing Kitty, Altar Egos, Justice is Blind
Day 6: Best Man for the Gob, Whistler's Mother, Not Without My Daughter, Let 'Em Eat Cake
--End Season One--
! --Season Two Start--
Day 7: The One Where Michael Leaves, The One Where They Build A House, ¡Amigos!, Good Grief
Day 8: Sad Sack, Afternoon Delight, Switch Hitter
Day 9: Queen For a Day, Burning Love, Ready, Aim, Marry Me, Out on a Limb
Day 10: Hand to God, Motherboy XXX, The Immaculate Election, Sword of Destiny
Day 11: Meat the Veals, Spring Breakout, Righteous Brothers
--Season Two End--
! --Season Three Start--
Day 12: The Cabin Show, For British Eyes Only, Forget-Me-Now, Notapusy
Day 13: Mr. F, The Ocean Walker, Prison Break-In
Day 14: Making a Stand, S.O.B.'s, Fakin' It
Day 15: Family Ties, Exit Strategy, Development Arrested
--End Season Three--It follows -mostly- a 4-3-4 pattern. Of course that's stretching it out. The show is addicting and everyone will probably get ahead.
-
Sounds good, I don't mind giving this serie another run. It has been about a year and a half since I last watched it. Why not.

Pretty good schedule. The only issue might be with the 4 episode days, it'll really lessen the discussion we can have about them, which, as someone who has never really talked about the show with other people outside of just going "it's so awesome ahhhhh," I was hoping to push. Especially for any newbies we might be able to get hooked.

Ladies and Gentlemen, just over a month away, we have productions photos:
http://screencrush.com/arrested-development-season-4-photos-ew/ Oddly, the only one who actually looks any different is de Rossi. She seems more gaunt in the EW cover.
I already know that I'm going to be marathoning all 15 the day they're released. Anyone else going to?
-
Wow after all these years, aside from Cera looking more like an adult and de Rossi looking slightly older, everyone looks pretty much the same which…is kinda astonishing. Do these people not age or something? Will Arnett looks pretty much identical to back then. Buuuut I will have to see the episodes in order to make any judgement on whether they have aged much at all.
Yeah certainly will be marathoning through all 15 episodes ONCE they are released. Seeing George Micheal on a segway is...amusing. Wonder how much he took from his uncle verses his father after all that foreshadowing.
-
How the heck can Jessica Walters be over 70 and still look the same as she did in the earlier seasons? That astonishes me.
Other than that, I'm glad to see that they haven't aged that much. They all look pretty much the same. I'm ridiculously excited for this.
-
So, I figure I can talk about it now that all the big people are, but one of the benefits that came with my recent promotion was an invitation to the season four premiere. I was beyond honored, and boy was it a blast. They screened a couple (amazing) episodes, and the entire cast (and then some) were present. I got to talk with Bateman, Arnett, and Hale, and was practically star-struck from all three. No one revealed anything spectacular–they pretty much said the same to everyone, and there wasn't really enough time to ask more than a question, as I'm not someone important, and only had a pen and a pad, not a camera. Also, because I was there in a "professional capacity" I could not get autographs, so that was a bit of a bummer.
I will say the show was at peak season 2 form. Everything was hilarious, and no one should be worried.
Also, I got to pet an ostrich. It was terrifying.
