Pick an audio track and begin to recite your essay over and over again. It works! I had to remember the Jabberwocky poem by heart, and I recited while playing music. Try to pick an audio instrumental. For me I used Thomas Newman's Ghosts from the Road to Perdition Soundtrack.

I'd give you tips I give my actors, but I don't force actors to stick exactly to the script, so I'll tell you what I used to do when I had a long monologue to memorize.
I personally would not recommend the music method for something five pages long, because what it does is create an auditory clue for your memory, and if you don't have it going while you're reciting you might find yourself rather lost.
All I can really tell you to do is simplify each paragraph into a one sentence main point. Remembering those in order will help you get the structure of the essay memorized. This shouldn't be too difficult just so long as you write the one sentence summary in your own words. Once you can recite the summary from memory move on to the next step.
The next thing to do would be to take it paragraph by paragraph. Memorize the first paragraph to the best of your ability. Do not beat yourself up if its not ad verbum, right now it's important to get the majority memorized. Then substitue that paragraph for your one sentence the summary and recite the whole thing from top to bottom. Once you've got that down, do the same with the second. And so on. It will be a slow, arduous process, and will probably take at least three hours of hard dedicated work.
I wouldn't recommend doing that in one whole block though. Every five paragraphs or so take a half hour break then come back to it.
After you complete that step, take a breather, you've gotten through the brunt of it and your grade should be solid.
The final step is to go through it with an ye on exactness. Hopefully, you won't have too many deviations. Take it line by line and you should be fine.
In the end, it's all about repetition. It's like practicing a musical scale the more you do it the better you get.
If you had a couple days I'd say there would be no worries, but only having a day…
I'm not going to lie: it's going to be a pain in the ass, and it's going to take most of a day, but if you stick with it, you should be able to get an A.
