So after hearing the One Piece podcast and searching the internet, I found out that Russia is getting a brand new dub, along with an official manga release. If anybody would like to contribute any info of these releases, post it here!

Wait is the Russian dub even out yet?
-
^ No, the dub's not out yet, but it's coming soon. I've also found out that all of the openings and endings are going to be dubbed into Russian. Here's a teaser that was released on the web:
-
Sorry for double posting but I have some important news:
-The New Dub is going to be on the channel 2x2 in March
-The first Manga Volume has just come out
-A preview of the dub will be hosted on onepiece.ru next week
Also here's the full dubbed opening
-
Wow, the editing in We Are with the Russian One Piece logo was horrible…way worse than FUNi's gold logo animations...It abruptly cuts from a shot of the original Japan logo to the Russian one and doesn't try replicating the movements at all.
That said, I think it's cool that OP is getting a Russian dub, especially one that's dubbing all the songs! Hope for the best. The Russian manga just starting up when the anime is ready to premiere is awesome.

One Piece is a pretty wacky-ass show. If anything I'd argue the Japanese get a bit too ridiculous at times.
-
The opening was pretty damn nice. Here's hoping "One Piece" does well in Russia!
-
^ By the way, I should mention that the video is poorly edited because the finishing touches haven't been made yet. It will look cleaner once it airs on TV.
Also, the first dubbed ending (memories) is going to be posted on onepiece.ru on monday, so look out for it!
-
Great that you get dubbed openings and even endings! They are not even dubbed in France or Taiwan, where One Piece is the most popular manga/anime series!
-
As for manga, the first printing is about 6000 copies. Hope it'll sell well, and they'll order more.
!

Can you get a picture of the full cover?

Here is the front cover:
Looks really nice! It´s almost the same as the original! I like it more than the VIZ-Covers, to be honest^^
-
Wow, that is really nice. I'm surprised they even kept the spine the same..
Thanks ^^

Wasn't the name of the company releasing "One Piece" in Russia called Comix Wave or something? Aren't they releasing it in some other countries too? I heard Kazahkstan is getting "One Piece" too.
-
It's comix-art. And they're partnered with eksmo, publisher company. They have a retail network, and their books could be found in a number of countries including Kazakhstan - http://www.eksmo.ru/purchase/foreign/. But I doubt that they'll see One Piece in retail with such small first printing. It's out of stock in some online stores already. As for the rights, I think it's Russia and CIS.
-
How are manga in Russia? As in popular, unpopular etc?
And how's the translation?

The companies name is called Comix-Art and I'm not sure about a Kazakh release. Here is some info that I've collected from a friend on Youtube.
- Comix-Art is a fairly new manga publishing company, founded in 2008 I believe, and is one of the leading Russian manga publishers.
-One Piece or "Большой Куш" (translated as Jackpot) is the first title Anime title they have licensed. As stated previously, they also have the manga publishing rights as well. Comix-Art hope to have the manga volumes on sale and the anime to air on TV at the same time, to promote manga and eventual DVD sales (it is unknown when the DVD's are coming out yet.
-For those of you who don't and haven't listened to the One Piece Podcast, our very own AlinaJames of Arlong Park Forums has been hired by Comix-Art to help with the translation of the series. It was also through much hard work and dedication on her part that all of the openings and endings are going to be dubbed in Russian. I find this really fascinating that one dedicated fan can make so much difference! And from what I've heard, Alina is pretty knowledgeable about the series like Greg so this is bound to be an excellent dub, maybe even better than Funimation's.
-The channel 2x2 is set to air the series starting in March. For those of you who don't know, 2x2 is a teen oriented channel that has aired series such as Naruto, Bleach, Family Guy, Adult Swim Shows and even Nickelodeon shows (figure that one out)!
That's it for now but I leave you guys with a little message. I hope all of you guys will support One Piece by buying the Manga or Anime releases in your respective country or language (I'm actually from the United States and I'm just reporting on this to spread awareness of this great series). So please do your part so we can have One Piece continue to thrive and spread all around the world by buying official releases!

Full dubbed russian ending, thx one-piece.ru

Russian dub.
-
Wow sounds great, can't wait to hear the reception for "One Piece" in Russia for the months to come.
-
Woah. Luffy sounds really close to Mayumi Tanaka here. Not quite, but I've never heard a dub that did that. The songs are done really well, too. This also reminded me I need to brush up on my Russian. There are so many dislikes on these videos, though, I wonder why, just dub haters?
-
Russian dub.
Must say: The voices fit perfectly! But it just sounds so weird, because I´m not used to Russian^^
-
Well, OP is not so popular here, but I have to admit I had hard times searching first book :D, so I guess company will print more. Also I hope dub will destroy the domination of Naruto and Bleach.

I hope it for you as well! I hate it how crap series like Bleach or Naruto are the number ones in some countries…they just don´t deserve it! I used to like Naruto, but the over powered Sasuke destroyed everything...
-
Well to be fair there's no such thing as "deserving" popularity. More people just like "Naruto" and "Bleach" more, more power to them. The people that like "One Piece" will be satisfied as long as they keep getting it.
And I would imagine "One Piece" isn't really popular in Russian considering it just came out there.
-
Wow, Russia's dub is awesome from what I've heard so far. Hope to see some more clips soon.
Edit: It could be nice practice for my Russian too.
Edit 2: And before someone brings it up, Zoro is still most likely spelled Zoro in this dub, just the way that stress works in Russian, because the stress is on the first o, and the second o has no stress, it sounds like an a, Zora. It makes differentiating between feminine and neuter nouns a bitch. Helpful fact and a way to show off :ninja: .
-
Tv spot.
The on-screen text:
The most popular manga in Japan.
More than 200,000,000 books sold worldwide.
On your screens for the first time.Oh, and the premiere is on April the 16th.
-
Today was the premiere of the Russian dub on the channel 2x2. It will air the first 62 episodes Mon-Fri at 3:00pm.
Here's a link to watch the first episode: http://kzn.moy.su
Strangely enough, the Russian vocals for the OP/ED didn't air as they were supposed to and the Japanese vocals played instead. Hopefully 2x2 will fix this problem in future airings.
Edit: Also the Mods might want to change this thread to just "One Piece Russian Dub" since it's already here. XD
-
There are so many complaints about the dub, and most of them are so ridiculous, like lipsync or voices being different from original, it pisses me off. I think the Russian version is good. Just the dub haters I guess.
Compilation of different dubs.
So, what do you guys think about it, comparing to your native One Piece dubs?
-
I can't speak fairly of the Russian dub since I don't speak the language, but Luffy sounds really close to the Japanese counterpart.
Fuck the haters.
-
About the language, it's another complaint. You see, the company that did the dub took the same approach as Viz, i.e. they've translated all attacks, fruit names, nakamas, and this caused quite a stir. The translation itself is quite good.
-
What do you mean they translated nakamas? They don't use the word "Nakama"? Because that sounds like a good thing to me.
-
Yeah, they used the Russian word "соратник" - soratnik, which can be translated to English as "brother-in-arms; team-mate; comrade-in-arms; close associate". I think it fits well.
-
So it sounds like weabooism is a universal thing.
-
Colour me impressed with the Russian dub! Luffy's voice is so close to Mayumi Tanaka's it's scary! O_O; Who's the actress that does Luffy's voice for this dub?
Alvida doesn't sound half bad either. :)
-
Elena Shulman. She's rather experienced voice actress with a lot of roles under her belt. And she voiced Alvida as well. :)
http://www.kinopoisk.ru/level/4/people/477449/Russian Usopp sounds great too. Very close to Yamaguchi. I'll try to post a preview here when it'll become available.
-
Uggh…that video just reminded me how terrible the English version was lol. The Russian sounds pretty close....French Luffy sounds so much like a different character all together lol. Italian may be in a tie for badness with English. Thai and Spanish Sounds all wrong.
-
How are the ratings? I hope they are good so that you guys can get more dubbed episodes soon! I hope One Piece will become the most popular anime/manga series in Russia!
-
Hi everybody from Russia. Yesterday was shown 9 episode of One piece. Voice of Ussop is awesom. This link on vidio with russian dub with Usopp.
-
Lip-sync there looks much better than before.
-
This dub is really good. I also like how the title text, большой куш, means "a king's ransom".
-
Sanji and Zeff.
-
Sanji sounds suave as hell. I like how Zeff sounds too! Obviously as an English speaker I don't really know how to comment on the quality of the acting but from what I can tell it definitely sounds convincing.
-
I like all the voices, they are all quite near to the Japanese voices!
I think they are doing a good job.Are now the opening and ending in each episode?
And is the series doing well in Russia? Do you have ratings? -
No, unfortunately it's very hard to find ratings for this channel, I tried but didn't find anything.
-
Here's the second dubbed ending. It sounds like Comix Art is getting better with each episode!
-
Dont you mean Dubbed ending?
-
^ Yes, sorry about that.
