I don't think David Moo auditioned. I think he was driving the cab for the casting agents, got them through some rough traffic to make the cattle call on time and they were so grateful they gave him the job.
BTW I'm totally convinced everyone was cast from pictures, except Sanji.
That's still one of the great mysteries of the universe. -
