Join Twenty-Fifth Baam as he climbs each level of the Tower to find his beloved friend, Lahel. Facing from impossible missions to mind bending puzzles as he uses any means necessary to reach the top.

Sounds cliched but it's a neat little web comic that has surprisingly turned out very well indeed. Full of surprising plot twists,quirky humorous characters and quite a bit of action,this series has quickly become one of my favorites .

Glad someone made this thread; I'd been considering it for weeks now but the last couple I created sort of fizzled, and my poor ego couldn't take it again. Been following this since the general manwha thread and it's in the weekly read list (with only Beelzebub and One Piece, no less).

I'm excited to see what kinds of powers the other irregulars have, since Baam is not your regular irregular. Also lookin to see his success versus this Bull thing. While it's true Shinsoo normally takes years to master with even a relative genius like Laure acquiring his powers over a long span of time, it's going to be some slow goings if Baam doesn't acquire some fun new talents in the near future. Here's hoping it isn't something retarded like a laser b[ea]am or something. It's also nice that we got a glimpse of an extremely powerful party (Yuri's) in action, so that we know where Baam's team needs to be headed.

Obligatory retarded theory (first in thread?): Anyone else thinking that Lahel might also be an irregular? In flashbacks she makes a lot of claims about going to climb the Tower, but only her determination is shown as a motivating factor for letting her actually do it; that said, we don't know what the selection process looks like, maybe she got a memo or something.

So in then raw for chapter 73, the end apparently has Baam yelling "STOP!" and then the Bull stops, so I'm thinking Baam must be an Anima as well, given its ties to Wave Controllers and Baam being compared to Ren (the riceball ranker). Looking at the chapter that follows the first mention of Anima, Baam comments on "this strength" after doing something in the water with the fish…For those of you who care and didn't know, the author has a blog where he comments on stuff from the series, a lot of things we've only heard about and some we haven't heard about yet. @prolix, Baam can already shoot "laser beams" or whatever the shinsoo blasts are. That whole target practice thing was in their initial training. Speaking of training though, after the Hide and Seek test Baam trained with Androssi, and the last bit we saw was him actually dodging her attacks. When she initially fought the bull she said "fighting Baam would have been much more entertaining". Perhaps she was just insulting the Bull, but looking at her practicing with Baam, it looks like the author wants Baam to be more than just a long-range laser shooting shinsoo user. Hand-to-hand combat is something he (Baam) is at least practicing.

Edit: Oh, and I'm thinking that girl with the red hair (Hwaryun) is a Jahad Princess. Not much to base that on other than her impressive skills and her being a "pretty girl". Another author's note said her "beauty is foreshadow", and then there's Evan's shocked face when she walks by. Maybe, maybe Garam Jahad.

Considering its a solo weekly full color work from the artist, I found the artwork pretty good from what we get usually in free webcomics. His artwork has improved a lot recently too from the random generic stuff at the start.

! Looks like Rachel–yes, Lahel is now officially wrong--survives covered in slime and tells everyone that Baam died saving her. But Baam made some kind of deal(?) with the guardian so they'd pass. Damn that bitch... but since no body was found, he's probably still alive and climbing the tower.

Lahel is a fake irregular because she didn't open the door but came in anyway. And she's not special in any way, she's completely normal. Baam is super awesome because he opened the tower door (which I assume can't be opened by just anyone), and he seems to be loved by shinsoo (which pretty much means the tower loves him).

There's a rumor that Baam is the key to unlock the super secret floor that Zahard has been trying to get into for ages and no one has ever been into. I think the author said something about it in his notes and you can find info about it on the Tower of God wiki.

It just seems a bit far-fetched, but then we don't know anything about the selection process. Is it possible for someone to be selected as a regular and not know it? Headon certainly seemed prepared for Baam, so even if he's an irregular he's certainly not unexpected.

Lahel reads a lot of books. She knows a lot of stories and as we saw last chap, she's kind of delusional. She wanted to get into the tower no matter what and just happened to get lucky cuz she met Baam. Without Baam, she never would have made it in.

That doesn't make her a regular though. We have a lot of questions about both her and Baam's origins completely unanswered. Where did they come from? Why did Lahel come down from the world above Baam's only to return upwards from time to time (and how did she do it when Baam couldn't? And why did she forbid Baam from going with her those times?), and why was there no shinsoo in Baam's original cave-world? Where the heck was he, and how did he get to be there, alone?

Anyway, I'm all for answering the questions, but I really want to see the next floor more than flashbacks. We've been on 2F for ages now, and there are 132 to go before Baam gets to open the next floor. Unless he skips some, I guess.

Sort of random, but in the first chapters that we see Rachel talk to Baam in the cave, you can see Jahad's symbol in the background.

Just want to point out that Tower of God will end in chapter 400~500, and author said it is not the end of this manhwa, It is part of the bigger world and the author is thinking about showing Phantaminum in Tower of God or not, according to the author Phantaminum is not just the strongest in the Tower, but he is one of the strongest in the world, implying that the rankers are not the only ones who have an extraordinary power.

After finding out about Lahel's treachery, I went back and reread the hide and seek game. There are a lot of innuendoes suggesting that Lahel and Ho are the same kind of problem for Baam. It's like the director used Ho for a reason. Getting Baam to stop climbing the tower was just a pretext, it seems like he was using Ho to help Baam understand why Lahel would act like she did, and why Lahel might hate Baam. And also as a warning, to show that if Baam failed to understand and save Lahel, then she would probably die like Ho.

Some initial reactions to recent developments, informed by my viewing of the pictures (obviously I don't know Korean):

! Hwa Ryun has to be some sort of ranker, maybe a guide like Yuri's short fast boat homie. Someone over at the Batoto forums put together a fairly compelling bit of evidence for this:

She also seems implicated in getting Ho to threaten Rachel/Lahel and then in making sure Baam knew about it. Probably a pawn of Headon's.
! Rachel is an irregular, right? And Baam is… expected but still someone who opened the door himself? Here's hoping this all gets cleared up soon. We still have one more candidate for irregular/agent of Headon/whatever, and that's the super-strong silent type guy, Akryung. What's up with him?
! As to the new chapter, it's short as hell. Someone with golden eyes (Baam has golden eyes, but so do plenty of other characters in SIU's universe) and hands that look older than Baam's muses quietly, a new cast are introduced(!) and I start to wonder if we're timeskipping (shit) or swapping to a new set of characters for a long period of time (shit?) or what. SIU's made some comments about the size of this world being large enough to merit more than just Baam's immediate story, but I had hoped we'd get some more of this story, since it was just getting going…

Oh well, translations are bound to be out soon anyway.

I recently started reading this after some very good reviews on it… a really good story to read.. also reading the author's blog translations.. i am surprised that Tower of God is only a part of the Talze Universe setting the author mentions... a lot of potential for this web-toon to turn out into a top class one like One Piece, Toriko and Hunter X Hunter.. although the art isn't good.. but the story makes up for it..

I really recommend this to everyone.. it will be fun following a story from this early.. :)

Tbh, this manhwa is the best thing I'm reading right now. I like it a lot better than everything else, one piece included (mostly cuz this author never disappoints and the universe he's created is so awesome).

I will say that it's pretty much on par, especially with the storytelling/immersion and world building, not to mention complexity. It's also a nesting grounds for theories of all kinds, but you won't find the discussions at Arlong Park. Spoiler for Chapter 8

! Baam auto-wins with his 100k+ hit so Love lets him choose 7 regulars to go up with him (Love earlier said the top 8 would advance).
Wangnan, Akraptor, etc. advertise themselves to Baam/try to suck up to him.
Baam refuses, saying he wants to go up the tower alone (He refuses Yeon because he wants to kill Zahard and his affiliates (the 10 families)).
Love challenges Baam to a game; if Baam wins, he can go up alone; if Love wins, Baam has to take 7 regulars with him.

I'm excited to see how Love fares with this most recent attack, though I wonder why Baam/Viole would go to the trouble of changing his appearance and identity only to rouse suspicions by copying techniques so easily (and blatantly). It seems like he should be using stuff gained over his 5 year hiatus rather than showing off his Irregular abilities…

I starting reading this when season 2 started and have not been disappointed. Reminds me the most of HunterXHunter due to the tests and doublecrossing characters and whatnot. I like the plot and the world. The art is growing on me.

Btw, its a shame, that the thread here is so empty. With HxH in hiatus, Tower of God is surely one of the most interesting shounen out there. Even over on narutoforum there is a 60+ pages thread about it.

For the chapter: It was for me the best one in the second arc. While Viole showing of his powers is nice and all; the deception, betrayal and mindgames are the strong points of ToG. But I dont know how to feel about Lurker. Killing Nia was a little pointless and just to show how evil he is. Though the "death" was also very fishy, so maybe there is more behind it.

But the highpoint was the afterword by SIU, that the main characters from part I will reappear soon. Not a single one of the new characters can compare to them and noone from the good guys seem shrewd or powerfull enough to advance further into the tower.

Yeah I'm excited to see the old guys again, but far more interested in why this test is going to become so important to the tower as a whole. Will Baam kill a Ranker? That might do it. Will Wangnan's connection to Zahard be revealed? That would probably do it too.

Oh, don't count on that. I read ToG, and am sure there are some other users who read ToG as well, but just there isn't anything to discuss for now. SIU as said that the direction in which this show is going will be clear after the next chap, so just have to wait for it. I am just waiting to see what happens next. So far its fine, although the pacing felt a bit dragged in this arc, but its going to get better from now on. SIU did say that the next arc will be very exciting.

Besides, the Naruto/Bleach/FT threads are the ones which receive the most criticism for the lame chapters that are put out.

Anyway, I don't know if he's recruiting a 'team' per se… unless he has some way to solidify allegiance or instill morale, it'll be a pretty shitty team. Koon knows this. More likely a group of semi-elite fodder in my opinion. I'm interested to see where this goes with Lahel/Rachel as some sort of 'leader' though, and whether she's kept up the paralysis charade or gained any powers or whatever. She's an irregular too, probably, and it's odd that she hasn't manifested beastly strength like Baam/Viole or any of the others before him.
