@Shuhan:
Have you ever seen the show "All Grown Up"? You know the sequel to Rug rats? In a sense, this is MLP's "All Grown Up", it changes the setting and characters a little bit to open up new facets of interaction and story development t. Sure, it isnt quite the same, but the idea is similar, change a few aspects so you can take a show to a different play field and see if it works out.
I remember that show doing totally well and not being universaly hated !
Sarcasm aside, if this was just a "fast forward" sorta thing then I wouldn't mind as much but this is turning the characters into humans in an apparently "more realistic" setting and yet still wanting to leech off of the original show. Which in itself makes it seem like this weird thing that shouldn't even be made, not at the same time as the original show anyway, and it just makes me afraid Hasbro's gonna crash and burn with it which will
- turn away old fans
- turn away new potential fans
- rub off badly on the main series overall, possibly even realy badly as far as Hasbro's executive decisions are concerned, and
- Hasbro shooting themselves in the foot as far as actual sequels and spinoffs are concerned, where their burn from this project will make them disinterested in making any proper sequels or spin off shows, regardless of how good they are/might be.
Plus the whole teen oriented thing makes me afraid for the characters and story and then there's the fact this might just delude the characters, as there's gonna be two series they are in at once and once one show does something with a character, then the other show doing it, even if legit, would make people scoff and call it a rip off etc. and cause all sorts of bad blood we realy don't need.
