Apparently each area of Japan will have OP in different timeslots now..sunday 9:30 am is the Kanto region (Tokyo etc) slot, where Greg lives it'll be friday nights and so on..
I'd like to know if Fuji tv is doing that to all their animated series of if they are just trying to kill One Piece slowly.

This double-episode was great! I liked the quick appearance Crocodile made and of course "I WANNA LIVE!!!". I'm kinda surprised there's no "To Be Continued" at the end of episode 278.

I watched the whole flashback in one sit today. The first episode was perfect (drawings, animation, music and voice acting), but the three other ones were kind of a let down. Drawings and animation was subpar (usually, they do much better than that for a flashback) and they picked the same old music tracks for most of the important scenes (except for movie 7's sad piano theme), which was really annoying.

But one thing that was absolutely perfect in the whole flashback : voice acting! Oh my God! That was just awesome! I honestly thought Yuriko Yamaguchi would fail to deliver emotion in crying and yelling scenes. She has a good voice for serious conversations or sexy lines, but I never liked it when she tried humor or drama (yelling, crying) (not only true for Robin, but also in Evangelion). I was really impressed though. Her lines when Olvia yelled at Robin and cried, then when Robin cried and said she wanted to live, were more than perfect! It was so good I cried (26yo male, and still…).

The "Dereshi" laugh that I liked in the first flashback episode, got really annoying after a while. The two actors delivered well, but it was used too much, and sounded weird most of the time. I wonder how Yuriko Yamaguchi will sound when laughing like that - I'm sure she will by the end of the arc! I feel Oda's characters' laughs are not always wisely chosen. Some are great (Arlong, Crocodile, Hiluluk, Dory and Brogy, Buggy, Foxy, Eneru, Masira and Shojo), some sound really weird (Blackbeard's Zehaha, Saul's Dereshi and Ao Kiji's Ararara).

Who voiced Aka Inu btw? I don't think it was Wakamoto - rumored a while back.

Very good episode, it was nice to hear Crocodile again. The way it ended to was awesome!! The fights should start in maybe 2 or 3 episodes.

Robin's tear filled Dereshi was soooo sad ;_;
The flashback really was more emotional when animated, the voices + music really added to the moment.

But "FIREBAAAADO STAAAAAA~!!!" was totally awesome ^_^
I cant wait to see the animated CP9 fights, I'm sure they'll kick massive ass, as they certainly did in the manga.

Well the first panel he appears in it looks like he's shouting. The wide open mouth, the spiny speech bubble and the exclamation marks are all signs of a character raising his voice.

I'm not complaining though, I like the anime version better.

Is there anyone who could reseed the [D-CX] HDTV raw for episode 267? Pleeeze?! I really enjoy watching the HD raws, and I was able to download all the other D-CX raws, and I've been seeding most of them for several weeks, but 267 is stuck on 99.3%.

edit: Wow, that was fast - thanks for whoever seeded it for me! I will seed it for awhile now for others to enjoy.

Great great set of episodes! i'm glad they kept them together. also i liked how they didn't play the eyecatch music in the 2nd episode, it really kept the effect going.
The version i got from saiyaman has commercials^^ anyone else think the girl in heavenly forest was simply gorgeous? also, no next episode preview on the saiyaman copy i had, is there one on any of the alternate versions?

That was bizarre, it was almost all footage from the fourth episode. Are they padding their episodes again? If so, I can't imagine what Luffy's childhood flashback has to do with anything.

Anyhow, I have the regional time chart by TV station. This chart shows when the next episode of ONE PIECE (epi. 279) will be aired . Depending on where you live, next episode is not aired till Nov 5.

Next week it's Zoro/Usopp time, so probably we'll have real EL action only in 3 or 4 weeks (281 Sanji/Nami and 282 Chopper/Robin coming next, i believe). Maybe they're presenting the characters to the "new" audience or just buying time. Or both. Well, Toei did it before with Hokuto no Ken and others.

Of course, at least we had Chopperman.

it's probably jsut a diversion. I think they realized thast what they did with Naruto is horrible and won't work.

but I do expect a couple filler arcs between each Manga arc for the next few manga Arcs so the manga is about 10 arcs ahead.

lets hope Oda doesn't have another big arc planned and does sometihng more like Baroque Works had. except without a rush of "omg people die if we wait another minute!" then we might be on to osmetihng. a slow going arc with importance, or ratehr group of arcs with a ton of importance, and then move onto to major arc 4/5? not sure what to call it.

I personally unbderstand there are 2 arcs, Water 7 and ENies Lobby. but should they be major arc 3 or 4? hmmm

anyways they need something that lets the manga get a big head start so the Anime won't catch up until the end of the series(although ia m hoping it becomes the longest running series, with the most chapters and volume EVER if we're lucky)

There's one big problem though with the fillers and the ninja ideas: Naruto is consistantly on all the teams. I mean, I looked at a preview for this week and its "Team 8..and Naruto". I've also seen "Team Guy…and Naruto" and "Team 7..and Naruto", and of course the three-man squads with Naruto on them (which make a bit more sense). The anime may have a good idea, but it really can't leave the main character alone.

I predict that in the next few episodes they show the SHs falling down this waterfall again and again, but showing each SHs flashback at a different time. We'll probably get Franky destroying the blueprints when the story really starts up again.

Redoing everyone's flashbacks….a good idea for filler, if filler is ever a good idea. It's more like a necessary evil.

Right now all the info I can provide is what I alreday wrote in the last post. At least, for now the show is still running and HOPEFULLY will not be cancelled anytime soon.

Look, this is a cultural thing. You kind of have to live in Japan to understand this. Ten to fifteen years ago, when I was still a kid, most of the popular anime used to be airred during the prime time (weeknights and weekends nights) and most were family oriented. Families, specially etxtended families (Dad, mom, kids, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and others), sat together and watched anime. When the kids grew up to teens, twenties, and thirties, they still watched anime by themselves or with their family if they had one.

But now families are becoming smaller (nucleuar family) and families are not spending as much time together as they used to do, and kids tends to watch anime shows alone. Because of this, when these kids grew up they now all have the impression that ANIME IS FOR KIDS. In this era, the popular shows that young people tends to watch are games/vareity/music shows. This caused many anime to be axed from the primetime slots by many network (not just fuji). That's why there aren't that many animes showes in primetime now then 10 or 30 years ago.

One last thing: The decisions in NARUTO did not effect the decision on ONE PIECE. NARUTO is produced by PIERO, INC. and airred by TV TOKYO. Fuji TV and TV Tokyo are rivals and the last thing they will do is mimicing each other.

I think the next few eps are gonna be simple bullshit. Time to fill crap. All the new shit we are seeing in these flashback eps will be in one episode in a month or so. Along with things missed like Franky burning Pluton. They may just be doing this and saving budget for something else. It would have been nicer if they reanimated everything rather than having the bars on the side.
