One Piece VA's other roles

I was recently looking at what other anime roles One Piece Japanese VAs have done on AnimeNewsNetwork and I was quite surprised on some.

Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy) plays the voice of Krilin in Dragonball.
Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji) plays the voice of Gojyo in Saiyuki.
Ikue Ohtani (Chopper) is Pikachu!! Both Japanese and English versions of Pokemon.

and the one that really surprised me…

Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp) is Inuyasha and the big shocker...Nin-Nin in the hentai La Blue Girl. Usopp has done porn!!:laugh:

Kazuya Nakai, who plays Zoro, does Mugen in Samurai Champloo.

Kappei Yamaguchi has also played a boy from the hentai game Cross Channel.

Kappei Yamaguchi is serious business in the VA business. He's also done Ranma, I believe.

Mayumi Tanaka was Pazu from Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Anndd… I think Akemi Okamura also did Shu from Now and Then, Here and There. I'm too lazy to actually check the credits, but it sounds like her, at least.

I was surprised when I first watched the OP anime; there are a number of voice actors who appear in both it and Urusei Yatsura, the first anime I ever watched (and one that's still one of my favorites):

Furukawa Toshio plays Moroboshi Ataru - and I swear to god you would not realize THIS is the same guy who played Ace, the voices he uses are THAT different
Tanaka Mayumi plays Fujinami Ryuunosuke… probably one of the few female roles she's done :laugh:
Chiba Shigeru plays Megane, a HUGE melodramatic film nerd
Shimada Bin (Foxy/Wapol) is Mizunokoji Tobimaro, a modern age 'samurai'

I think I'd die if Kamiya Akira got a part too, he was my favorite on UY :laugh:

Kappei Yamaguchi is also Subaru Sumeragi from Tokyo Babylon, believe it or not (I didn't at first. He sounds so different in that role). And Sakuma Ryuichi in Gravitation. Ryuichi and Usopp sound so much alike at times that I half expect Usopp to go "Na no da".

He VA's a dog named Moss in Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin (English name of the anime is Silver Fang, I believe), Heihachi Mishima in Tekken 4 and 5, plus the Tekken anime (in short, he's the one true Heihachi), That big Enel-eared green-haired person in the first episode of Trigun, and many more. I love this guy.

And Okiayu Ryoutarou (Kaku) is K in Gravitation, Lee Chaolan in Tekken 5, Kentaro (not to be confused with Keitaro) in Love Hina, Shigure in Fruits Basket, Watanabe in Excel Saga and Enrico Salvaletti in Hellsing.

Not that I'm in any way interested in who plays whom in my anime.

Kazuya Nakai does the voice of a villian (I forgot his name) in Scattered Princess. And if I'm not mistaken, I think I recognized Hiroaki Hirata's voice as one of the characters in Final Fantasy XII when I watched the game trailer for it awhile back.

You're right about that, I forgot about FFXII <3 Balthier.. I wish I can import games just because of the seiyuus. That game's gonna be fun.

Here's a few that I know about:

-Mihawk's seiyuu was Piccolo Daimaou, and Ace's was Piccolo.

-In Yu Yu Hakusho, Mayumi Tanaka was Koenma, Shigeru Chiba (Buggy) Kuwabara, and Mr. 3's seiyuu Hiei.

-Goro Naya (Crocus, the old man who lives in Laboon) is Lupin III's Zenigata.

-Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji) was Leomon in Digimon, and is the Japanese dub voice of Captian Jack Sparrow.

-Nojiko's seiyuu is Ran Mouri in Detective Conan.

-Akio Ohtsuka (Blackbeard, Baron Omatsuri) is Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid

-Dr. Kureha was Son Goku, the original Astro Boy, and Guilmon in Digimon Tamers.

-Kohza's seiyuu is Trunks from DBZ

Kappei Yamaguchi also played a role on Peace Maker Kurogane - I forget the character's name, though, it's the short wise-ass guy with the reddish hair witha band-aid on his face.

Wataru Takagi (voice of Bellamy) also did Valgaav from Slayers. (And he's an excellent singer, IMO)
Koyasu Takehito (Aokiji) is Zechs Merquise from Gundam Wing.
I had to look this one up, but Siam and Chu's seiyuu is Masaya Onosaka, the voice of Vash the Stampede. XD

Oh, that'd be because I was listing from my memory and I don't watch Dragon Ball. I'd probably have mentioned it if I'd ever watched the show.

And since I posted, Tomokazu Seki (Lucchi) VA's Shindou Shuichi in Gravitation and Kyo in Fruits Basket. Both Shuichi and Kyo like to say "Yuki" a lot. I wonder if Lucchi starts obsessing over snow anytime soon? (I'm kidding, obviously)

Also for Seki, he plays Sagara Sousuke in Full Metal Panic,Masaharu Ogata in Angelic Layer, and Jiro from Android Kikaider the Animation. I could have sworn he was also the voice of Spark in Lodoss War CotHK, but I could never find the credits to confirm it.
Oh yeah, and Gai from Martian Sucessor Nedesico.

Guess what, Wakana Yamazaki did live action also. She did the voice of Empress Histeria from Ohranger and NejiPink from Megaranger.

Oh! And Tomokazu Seki also did Van from Escaflowne, Chichiri from Fushigi Yuugi and Dee from Fake. For some variety. XD (Sorry, I love that man's work.) And Kohza's seiyuu was also Saionji from Utena, which always psyched me out before I got used to it. Takehito Koyasu (Ao Kiji) has done a TON of work, including Rezo from Slayers, Touga from Utena, Il Palazzo in Excel Saga, Hanagata in Saber Marionette J, Aburatsubo in Mahou Tsukai Tai (Magic User's Club), Yosho from Tenchi and just tons and tons more.
