Bounty Formula Discussion Thread

This thread is here for easy access/reference to the bounties of each round and use if you'd like to discuss/work with others to figure out the formula we're using to assign bounties.

An event mod will continue to update this post with the newest matches' bounties. Maybe we can figure out other things to update the first post with - I'm not sure yet. Ubiq is also much more into the bounty aspect of the matches than I am so he may decide to take control and put other ideas into place to make this more helpful. Some of us may come in at certain points and give you guys hints if you guys are no where near the point of figuring the formula out. Most likely in the form of yes or no questions.

Some people may not wish to discuss what work they've done to try and figure out the formula in hopes of being first. That's fine. But that doesn't mean you should come in here and say "EEEERRRRRRRRR WRONG THATS SO RWRONG." That goes for putting people down overall and being rude. You'll be dismissed from the thread permanently.

Akagami figured out the first round formula so if he wants to share the answer he got for that he may do so and if he wants I'll put it into this post. Either way. It may help some people in figuring out what types of variables to think of.

Anyways, this'll probably be updated quite a bit over the next day or so until we have some sort of outline figured out. For now, feel free to discuss. I would also very much recommend using and referencing Ubiq's Statistics Thread while looking for numbers and trying out variables. It'll save you a tremendous amount of time.

the 1st round bounties formula is

Ok, the bounties are
If the character ended first in the preliminaries, his bounty is his number of votes x60000
If ended second–-x30000
If ended third---x20000

It seems that the 2nd round bounties aren't related with the number of votes, at least not like in the first round.
I noticed that rayleigh bounties are pretty similar,
in the first round he has 17,580,000
in the second round 33,580,000

Well, since they are former champions they didn't compete in the prelims. Consequentially, the same formula couldn't directly be applied to them. I haven't looked in the details though. Just checking the other bounties for extreme changes right now. Cases like the boost in the Makino bounty tend to be a good starting point to identify one of the variables (assuming it's multiple ones again).

Above, I sorted the list by highest bountry increase to lowest increase. I then compared the bounties of their Round 1 opponents, which is the numerical value on the far right. Ehhh, doesn't tell us much, as Kizaru, Zeff and Pandaman appear to be major anomalies BUT:

I noticed the Pandaman increase on Aokiji's bounty, as well. It could be a coincidence but it does some a good lead for now. Maybe the prior rankings still play into it. Aokiji was first in the prelims while Pandaman was third, so maybe defeating him doesn't count as much as defeating someone who ranked higher or equal in the prelims.

I insisted that the bounties actually be solvable this year, so that it remains an actual fun game to participate in, so its a little less complex than it was last year. For this round anyway. Long as you guys stay positive and keep at it, you should be able to figure it out. Good luck!

Rather than saying the formula, I do a bounty forecast. That leaves the possibility for others to figure it out independently.

Note that this should only be correct if Aokiji isn't. Also, I still haven't figured out the bounties of the prior champions.

For the former champions, the year they won seems to affect their bounty.

Usopp 2005 –-----> 22,500,000
Franky 2006 -------> 23,600,000
Luffy 2009 --------> 24,900,000
Whitebeard 2010 ----> 26,000,000

so Usopp for example is: 2005 which gives 500,000. the 22, 23, 24 and 25 is what you need to figure out.

Yes, Aokiji's bounty should be 24,800,000 from what I can tell. An operator error was bound to occur at least once punching all those bounties in.

As long as it stays related to how the characters are doing in this tournament, I don't mind if you make it a bit harder.

Still, as Kitsune said, we did spend several hours for solving it and also we didn't put the formula anywhere so it's still open for everybody else to try.

Also, I love that you provide this little brain challenge as part of the tournament! ^_^
