Generally asking a mod about these sort of things politely will get you answers or resolution to a problem you might be having.
Starting a thread where you insult the mods and curse a bunch… is more likely to get you banned as an obvious troll.

Looking into your problem, its because you're still registered as a new member, even after being here for a year, because you haven't posted any, so your privileges are limited. You can't make new threads or vote in polls. The no new threads is a relatively recent addition to standard policy for newbs.
You should still be able to post wherever you want, however, that permission shouldn't be blocked.

New members are allowed to post as much as they want. They just can't create new threads.
Voting and new thread privileges are restricted from new members, largely to help alleviate spambots, leaked spoilers, vs threads, and various topics that already have proper threads, and also to cut back on cheating in the character tournament.
Hang around for a while and be an active member, and you'll automatically be given those abilities, its pretty lenient minimum requirements.
Oh, btw, I think its a load of garbage that new users can't post or vote. Quit being a jerk. And don't call me a "newb." I've been a One Piece fan for years. That rule is a total load of ****,man.
