This may have been a less eventful trade deadline than the last one.
NBA Season 2013-2014

I hope the Thunder and Clippers face each other in the playoffs this year. This game has been fun to watch.
-
Melo blocked the shit out of masked Lebron last night
!
-
Fifth career triple double for Noah. He's the best passing big man in the league today.
I can't help but to feel sorry for Melo at this point.

Hey every good player has to play on a shit team at some point in their career.
-
This season will likely end up with Carmelo missing the playoffs for the first time in his career. He made it for a straight decade(albeit a lot of first round exits but still pretty impressive)
-
Korver's insane 3 point streak ended last night
-
There are no words for this beatdown that the lakers are receiving right now. Good lord….
-
“@magicjohnson: The only way San Antonio or Miami don't win the championship is if neither team makes the finals.”
How could ESPN let this guy go?
-

Slaughtered, Massacred, Shellacked, Murdered, Killed, Bullied, Stomped, Curbstomped,Assaulted,Decimated,Destroyed,Buried, Ass Kicked?
And look at James Dolan still thinking Phil Jackson wants to come to New York.
-
I don't know, I think Phil is showing some interest in that front office job.
And goddamn, what a game for the Bulls. Defense holds LeBron to 8/23 (can't blame the sleeves this time), some nice ass blocks by Noah, and look at Butler, with a key strip against in the final seconds in reg.
Looking at Noah's dad, I can see where Noah got his gap from lmao.
See Red.

Jodie Meeks is carving up the Thunder
-
Indiana or Miami: who can choke the hardest as the regular season ends. Both are on 3 game losing streaks; I'm loving this way too much.
-
My money's on the Pacers their the ones everyone and their mother swear are going to bring down the Heat.
-
Pacers lost again! Your move Miami.
-
Go Celtics!! Took the season series over the Heat!
-
Battle of the chumps tonight on ESPN
-
Stephenson's ejection = priceless
That game really got me hyped for the playoffs
-
The Sixers have now lost 26 games in a row, and as far as I know, STILL have a better record than the Bucks. I can't help but to find that funny and sad at the same time.
-
The 76's are like someone experiencing a come down after doing drugs.
Minus the regret and misery and the addition of comedy.
-
The streak is over! Now they're 2 games ahead of Milwaukee
Failures can't even grab the best lottery odds
-
Good job losing the #1 seed Pacers.
-
That was unexpected.
-
Should rename this the Pacers bashing thread; haha they lost again.
-
Why shit on them when you got the Knicks who still can't get a playoff berth.
-
I thought the Knicks were convincingly in the 8th spot a couple days ago but I guess not. Just checked the standings and now they're 2 losses behind Atlanta? Wow sucks for them. And if they both have the same record at the end of the season, Atlanta has the tiebreaker due to having a better conference record. They'll probably have to go 4-1 or 5-0 over their last games in order to grab the last seed. Or even a 3-2 if Atlanta's wheels really fall off
-
Damn basically they're the 2012-2013 Lakers only a smidge more desperate for the 8th seed oh and minus an injured superstar.
-
A rather approriate record for J.R. Smith: he attempted TWENTY-TWO 3s all by himself in a single game. Pretty sure there are some teams that don't even average that much.
-
The Knicks have a brutal schedule to close the season. No way they get back to the 8th spot. They almost made it but then Melo injuried his shoulder and now they're behind again. I'm pretty sure the Hawks would prefer having a lottery pick then being swept in the first round tho.
On the contrary, in the West the race for the 8th spot is pretty exciting. I sincerely hope Phoenix gets in, because they will be much more fun to watch then the Grizzlies in the first round. No one talks about them, but Dallas is having a really good season. Anyways, the Western Conference playoffs will be awesome, every match up is promising and excintig
-
Nets swept the season series against the Heat…..what?
-
The bottom of the West is going to be really close. While the Warriors technically haven't locked up a spot yet, I'll leave them out of this seeding race because things would have to go VERY wrong for them to miss the playoffs. What makes this particularly interesting is that the Mavericks, Suns, and Grizzlies all play each other as the season ends so we get that Week 17 feel where 1 regular game could decide who makes and misses.
Upcoming games and Tiebreaker:
! Dallas Mavericks (48-31) 3 games left
Home vs Spurs
Home vs Suns
Away vs Grizzlies
! Phoenix Suns (46-31) 5 games left
Away vs Pelicans
Away vs Spurs
Away vs Mavericks
Home vs Grizzlies
Away vs Kings
! Memphis Grizzlies (45-32) 5 games left
Home vs Heat
Home vs Sixers
Away vs Lakers
Away vs Suns
Home vs Mavericks
! Tiebreakers: Dallas has the tiebreaker over Memphis, leading them 3-0 in the series so far. So the Mavs would keep hold of the tiebreaker even with a loss in their final matchup. Pheonix has played both Memphis and Dallas twice already and both series are tied 1-1. The Suns could potentially own tiebreakers over the other two with wins in the next meetings. And now for how each team can control their own fates, regardless of the other teams performances.
! How the Mavericks can make the playoffs:
! * Beating Memphis will guarantee an 8th seed at the least, even if the Mavs lose their other 2 games as well as the Grizz winning all of their other 4 games.- Losing to the Grizzlies and winning against the Spurs and Suns guarantees an 8th seed.
! How the Suns can make the playoffs:
! * Beating Memphis and winning 2 other games guarantees an 8th seed.- Losing to Memphis but winning all the other games guarantees an 8th seed.
! How the Grizzlies can make the playoffs:
! * Winning out for the rest of the season guarantees an 8th seed.
The Grizzlies and Suns playoff berths depend largely on how well the other does so let's just look at the nightmare scenarios for the Mavs. Here's the only ways they can miss the playoffs.- Losing to the Grizzlies and Suns AND Suns finish the season 3-2 or better, Grizzlies finish season 5-0.
- Losing all 3 games AND Suns finish 2-3 or better, Grizzlies finish 4-1 or better
-
Actually the Grizzlies have the tiebreaker over the Suns; leading them 3-0. Not sure where I got the 1-1 from. So now the Suns are on the outside looking in.
-
Dallas clenched their playoff berth by winning over Phoenix tonight and claiming that tiebreaker. Since the Grizzlies have the tiebreaker over the Suns as well, Phoenix's chances just became pretty slim.
Now the Suns need to win their last 2 games and hope that the Grizzlies lose 2 of their last 3 games. Let's assume the Grizzlies will beat the Lakers tomorrow night so then they'd have to lose the other 2, which happen to be against the Suns and Mavericks. The Mavericks should be pretty hungry for a victory in order to get the 7th seed and will be coming off 3 days of rest.
-
Talk about desperation.
-
Aw the Suns are officially out. Well, they were expected to be at the very bottom of the West so 9th place is still downright blasphemy. But there are still some seeds that could be shuffled on Wednesday; Toronto and Chicago are both going to try and win their games to get the 3rd seed in the East and avoid Brooklyn in the first round. Memphis and Dallas will directly face off to decide 7th and 8th in the West.
-
It makes me mad that the Suns are out of the Playoffs, but would be the 3rd seed in the East. It's just unfair. And seeing Dragic, Bledsoe and Green in Playoffs games would have been so much fun
-
Hey at least you don't have to watch them get crush before the might of a better team or an equally awful team.
-
The Bulls clinch the number 4 seed, and face the Wizards in the 1st round. I can see the Bulls winning in 6, though John Wall is gonna be a handful.
This is also the first time in NBA history that the Celtics, Lakers, or Knicks will not be in the playoffs.
-
Whoa didn't expect the Nets to slip out of the 5th seed like that. But the Wiz won their last 2 games while the Nets lost their last 2. Good news for the Bulls but that also means no series of intrigue happening in the East's first round.
The West, on the other hand, shouldn't disappoint. Considering how well the Spurs are rolling, the series with the Mavs may not be that great but the other 3 should be pretty close. Given how healthy the Spurs are at this stage, my money is on them coming out of the West and winning it all. They haven't won against OKC in forever but I know the 2012 West Finals are in the back of their minds. They'll take care of the Thundurants this year
-
Raptors fans love KG lol.
EAST:
Pacers
Bulls
Nets
HeatWEST:
Spurs
Rockets
Clippers
Thunder -
I caught the end of the Clippers/Warriors game and CPThreeMistakes really screwed his team over at the end lol.
….And looks like the Pacers are struggling against the Hawks(a team 6 games under .500 without their best player)
-
LMAO at Korver blocking Hibbert's shot. Boy has Hibbert's stock fallen this season.
-
!
! I have little to no faith in the Pacers, but this is still the Hawks they're up against. -
the Pacers are in a very very very bad place. I'm not saying they're doomed, but they will have to put everything they got on the table.
Shoutout to the Dubs for taking game 1, even tho the game was made less enjoyable by the refs getting involved too much.
I also would like for the Raptors to be able to come back, but Pierce showed why he's an Hall of Famer
-
Oh man, that Rockets-Blazers game was incredible last night. Aldridge was a one man army all game and nothing is more nerve-wracking that Howard shooting free throws at the end of regulation or overtime. Lillard and Harden were making incredible shots the whole time and 4 players fouled out. I forgot that Warriors-Clippers series existed. This one between the Blazers and Rockets is the series I'll definitely keep track of.
-
Well Mike Woodson was given his pink slip not that no one one saw it coming.
-
All heart! Joakim Noah wins the Defensive Player of the Award!! The first Bull to win it since MJ back in 1988!
Now for the next game against the wizards, they have to stop Nene.
-
Best way to beat the Wizards is have them go to the foul line lol.
-
who would have predicted the Blazers and Wizards up 2-0 on the road? I'm kinda shocked
-
@'ko:

I wonder if this is the first time both 5 seeds took the first 2 road games.
I had recorded the Rockets/Blazers game to watch it today but predictably spoiled the result for myself earlier…agh. Anyways seems like Aldridge is sticking to his blistering pace. Both the Bulls and Rockets are in bad spots in their series but I think the Rockets are probably more worried. Unlike the Bulls, they don't have an elite defense to fall back on. But the Wizards play good defense as well so the Bulls catching up at this point will be difficult.
