RDG - RED DATA GIRL (First episode impression)
Impressions Resume: RDG or the longest name RED DATA GIRL is for what I've seen a shojo slice of life anime about a timid girl that want to live a normal live, but have mysterious powers that need to be protected.
I liked this first episode and it looked a solid anime. Nothing impressed me that much, but nothing was bad. If it keeps this quality I think it will be a medium level anime and for a season it will be a good watch. My mind keeps me alerting that the first episode should try to captivate the attention of the viewers and so should try to show some real strengths of the anime, I didn't found strength in this episode and so I question if this anime don't have strengths at all or it have, but they weren't already shown.
Storytelling (rating: 60 of 100)
Story/Premise: I only seen the first episode so the only thing that I watch isn't really all the story, but only the premise. I have to say that the premise is not to extravagant, but for what I've seen of shojo slice of life, honestly I don't watched that many, is original(Timid girl with powers needs to be protected, but at the same time she wants to live a normal live. ah, and the boys mistreat her because she is timid). Fortunately for me is not a reverse harem, at least for now(I don't like harems, because until now all of them seems rather forced and don't provide nothing good to the story).
Plot: Being the plot the way the story is told and because I only watched the premise, I will be talking of how this premise was told/showed. It was well made in a simple and effective way, it could have put more emphasis in some things, for example the fact that she have mysterious powers that she can control nor understand. But overall it was well made, I believe if the premise was a lot more interesting this plot would solidify even more that premise.
Acting (80 of 100)
Characterization: The acting was good for the most part, but it had at least two situations where characters reaction were a little over the top and not normal. One of them are Izumiku's(timid girl) teacher reaction when Sagara(A friend of Izumiku's father) talked and look at her(I know that it was to show that he was pretty and that she was embarrassed when he talked to her, but it was a little over the top).
Voice Acting: I will divide the Voice Acting in the Acting part(this has more to do with how the voice show the feelings of the characters in each situation) and in the Sound part(this has more to do with the mapping of voices and characters). The acting seemed well made for all the characters and showed well what the character was expressing in that moment.
Sound (70 of 100)
Opening and Closing Music: Appropriate for the mood of the anime and good. I don't know how but I really liked the ending music, it seemed different(is it traditional Japanese music?), soft and calming.
Background Music/Sounds: The Background sounds are indispensable parts of any anime and normally are done very well and this anime is not an exception(I believe if an anime don't have good Background sound then I will almost automatically stop seeing it). The Background music is really beautiful and I liked it a lot, but most of the time was so deep in the background that it was almost impossible to hear and so it atmospheric quality was almost completely nullified.
Voice Acting: All the characters that appeared in this episode had a voice that really fused well with him.
Visual (80 of 100)
Static: The quality of the drawing were good, I have seen better, but I have seen a lot, but a lot worse. Unfortunately the cars were made in a horrible 3D, but they rarely appeared.
Dynamic: The character movement and reactions where well made and I can't remember of any thing bad to say about them, it was a consistent and solid. The 3D car movement were horrible, but as I said in the Static section they rarely appeared.
Overall (72.5 of 100) A Good anime thus far, but I only recommended to anyone if the person I did that were to watch many anime this season.
