I'm kind of surprised there's no thread for this game yet so I decided to create one myself.

Rayman Origins is coming November 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii. It's also coming to Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

I've played the first two Rayman games when I was a young kid, so I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game. The beautiful hand drawn graphics and co-op are the biggest reasons I'm so excited about this game. :happy:

I like this series, I played all the games besides the rabbits ones.

I'm not so sure about this. The art stye is nice, especially the backgrounds, but some of the expressions are sort of ugly. Not really something I'd expect in Rayman. But I dunno, a lot of people seem to like it, so what do I know? The comedy looks to be more of the Rabbid's stupidity, rather than Rayman 3's dark humor. The gameplay.. I don't know. It looks fun, but it seems to be concentrating on the co-op a lot. And I wanted a new 3D Rayman more.

I'll definitely buy this and very likely enjoy this, though. So I won't leave my final judgement until then. I'm happy they decided to change it from a downloadable title to a full retail release.

I love love loved the original 2d rayman. the n64 one was okay, disappointed by 3.

So a return to 2d, with gorgeous hand-drawn sprites is very welcome. I just can't decide if I should get the wii or 3ds version…

I'm quite excited for this game. The 2D effects are stunning. If they nail the control system, it will be stellar. I was a big fan of the first (though I never beat it since it didn't allow you to face the final boss without all the prisoners being freed or something) so if this game is on par with it without needing such harsh requirements, it will be a hit with me. Rayman using his hair propeller to blow up the fairy's skirt cracked me up

I'm keeping my eye on it but I'm pretty skeptical that I'll enjoy it. As marcellof has posted, the humor looks to be the crap from the rabbid games. Everything I see is rayman and globox running around slapping everything with stupid expressions on their faces…which is not the rayman I know. Plus I don't like how it is borderline Super Rayman Bros., with the two different coloured 3rd and 4th characters and you go into bubbles if you get left behind.

Not too fond of this being 2D. Seems like it's trying to ride on the same success as New Mario Bros Wii, especially with the coop thrown in.
Probably gonna buy it, but there already has been lots of stuff for my 2D fix on Wii, while there hasn't been a competent 3D platformer in ages (that isn't Mario) and Rayman is more famous for its second game after all (meaning, the 3D one).
I also prefer the darker tone from Rayman 2, even though this obviously good fantastic too.

I remember seeing people saying Rayman 2 is the best one. A game that rivaled Mario 64. At least when it came out. I don't really look into that nowadays.

Personally, I like 3 the most.

GameStop pre-order bonus is a free copy of Beyond Good & Evil HD. Another game from game designer Michel Ancel. I assume for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade and a PC version for a pre-order of the Wii version.

The original was amazing, and a Masterpiece. Played without sound effects, it was almost a cinematic experience for a 2D game, and was very influential for yours truly. I actually addressed, and continue to prefer to address equals and superiors as "Mister" in light of how Rayman addressed the bosses. The music was also omgwtf awesome, with dynamic and challenging game-play that required an attentive mind with quick reflexes. A sweet experience.

The subsequent games were not as cool. And what the heck did Ubisoft do to Batilla? And sweet mother of gosh, she's Rayman's mother? @_@

Rayman was originally some guy who lived on an island, and slept in a hammock, and was asked to save the world. So he did. He wasn't some Jesus Christ created to guide his species to salvation!

I hope it is. That's a large part of what made it great.
But don't worry, it won't be. Game companies don't do that nowadays.

Anyway yeah. Definitely interested in this. Rayman 1 was amazing, but all the sequels sucked big ones, so a return to 2D with an emphasis on the visual style sound like a good thing to me.

Rayman Origins demo next week on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live! Find all nine Electoons in the demo to unlock a new costume for the full game.

The only thing I could think of complaining about was the artstyle shitf from Silly-Symphony-like, to Ren and Stimpy-ish.
But after seeing gametrailers video review of it, I can't bring myself to do it.
Shit looks AMAZING.
Looks like everything good I remember about one of my first, and most cherished playstation games.

Picked it up today after the great reviews it's been getting (and can't go wrong at the sale price) it's bloody brilliant. Seems to be pretty difficult thus far too. Which I like. Seems to go hand in hand with Donkey Kong Country Returns~

this game is incredible. go buy it. why?

1. looks fucking awesome
2. creative, dynamic level design, great sense of flow once you really get into a level and start ripping through it.
3. multiplayer is a blast. not as frustrating as NSMBW, but there's an actual advantage of having more players, unlike DKCR.
4. there are levels based on iced drinks. you jump on limes and shit, it's great.

Got mine yesterday and today I played it with a couple of friends. Our favorite thing was that we could stand on top of each other and have the bottom one run.

I bought this game on a whim a couple days ago and I have to say that I'm really impressed. It's a very fluid and top-notch platformer. It's not as frustratingly difficult as, say, a Donkey Kong Country game, but still doesn't slack off. The scenery is imaginative and hilarious. I laughed my ass off at the fact that you have to swing off the beards of Rayamn's answer to Tibetan monks. The gameplay works beautifully. Everything is kept simple, but the levels are designed to make use of anything possible with the given abilities. I was impressed by how well things like the treasure chases worked. I also really love the soundtrack, especially in the water world. It's nice, dynamic and cartoony. I only wish it didn't reset every time you died.

Also, the iced drink levels reminded me of Tonic Trouble, except, you know, actually good.

I got my copy on the first day of release. =] I was the second customer of the store that rainy day. XD
I absolutely love this game. It's a blast to play with my family and friends who really love the game too.
I'll call it near-perfect. From what I've heard [not sure if this is true but the Rayman Pirate Community Forum talks about it] there was a script to the game that told more story than the game actually did. But I don't mind these ideas being scrapped at all.

BUT…the Original Sound Track has a bonus track called "The Final Showdown". A track and final boss fight that were completely scrapped from the game. XD What a miss!

This game is freakin' amazing. All I've done is play the demo and watched the playthroughs, but I want it so bad! Great time with my friends taking turns with the demo as we yelled, "Get the yellow things you fucking idiot"! at each other. Hope it sells better, it's a shame but the sales suffered I think because it's the type of game that's weird to be 60 bucks when it first comes out.

Anyway I think this game would've been more interesting with the original development idea, where it was an actual prequel to the series where the fairy creates Rayman and he meets that blue guy. Wasn't his name Obolex? Would've made the Origins in the title make more sense.

Yeah, I teamed up with a bunch of friends during Christmas and played it and now it just feels really boring playing it alone. I also die a lot when I play alone, obviously.

I played half the game with my bro and the rest by myself. With the exception of the flying levels, I can do better by myself because I can plan things out better. Just rushing through a level in multi is fun, though.

I actually played through the entire game, and found all Electoons by myself. ^^;
Then after that I played the game with my big sis, young cousin, and a friend. =]
