It's a good movie but is super fiction. Don't think what it says is accurate about what happened in 2002! A lot of people are mistaking it as documentary-style factual rather than Hollywood-style fantastical. Even if fake, it's still a cool film.
Also some hilarious irony if you think about it for a while after leaving your theatre.
As a baseball fan and a semi-sabr guy, I'm glad the topic gets a little attention (to what extent, I'm not sure, I've read the book but yet to see the movie). I've heard it stretches a lot, but the subject material has me interested enough.
I've only recently gotten into sabermetrics (I started this year) but I have a background in Econometrics, so I hit the ground running. But I'm not really convinced it's really the answer for predicting the future.
I never read the book, I've only seen the movie, but what saber it goes into isn't too extensive. The movie is mostly about OBP.
