I just found out that Megaman Legends is very similar to One Piece.
1. The world is mostly water and has several islands not big enough to be considered a continent.
2. People called Diggers are traveling the islands to look for artifacts and treasures, just like pirates.
3. The Mother Load is said to be the ultimate treasure, just like One Piece.
It does sound similar, right?
Similar, yes, but it seems to be very far off to assume that Oda got the idea from there IMO. Well, I have not actually played the game before but I've heard about it. It seems to be way too high tech if you compare it to OP though. A wierd connection but still interesting…
What SHL said, but add the fact that Oda came out with One Piece in the same year Megaman Legends came out but before the game (the game came out on December 18th, 1997 in Japan.)
I played the game, you spend most of the time on an city-island and a bunch of ruins, just a simularity.
