Dear innocent citizens of the world Arlong park,
For what reason would you take up your arm and fight? In the name of which shall you put your life on the line?
For solely yourself? Or also someone else? Or something other than humanity?
Looking forward to your lovely responses,
Your faithfully, Aledias EliadesSea.
p/s: Rioting is also fighting. Protesting is also fighting. Fighting doesn't mean bloodshed. Fighting doesn't mean violence.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
What do you want to fight for?

! > No one has ever done anything that was solely for another and without a personal motive. How indeed could he do anything that was not related to himself, thus without an inner necessity (which simply must have its basis in a personal need)? How could the ego act without the ego?

don't post that too soon lol

Though I would ask, have you achieved a moment when you completely forget yourself?
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Is there an action you have committed, that which you may initially do for your pleasure, but when you come to do it, you forget the self?

I fight for reason and humanity. I am a secular humanist and damn proud of it.

I stand up for my views, my friends or 'the little guy' - and mostly against those stupid red tape rules that have so many technicalities they actually fail to protect people.
I believe in justice, but on the other hand I believe slightly in thinking of the big picture. For example if a criminal breaks into your house and goes into your daughter's room (I believe this was a story a year or so ago) and you attack him - you shouldn't be arrested. If a harmful person enters your one place of safety, you should have every right to defend yourself and get them out.
If things get too far, yeah I'd (and I have done) physically fight if it comes to it. I'm pacifistic in nature, but there really are certain times when violence is the only option. To prove yourself, to take a stand and make your words be heard when they are not and you have tried everything. I think to deny that wholly is foolish.
Things that I'm also against are Feminazis and Political Correctness. Though my views on that are sorta convoluted.

I thought this as well.

I fight to live to be myself. I fight for my friends to be my friends.

@THE:
Though I would ask, have you achieved a moment when you completely forget yourself?
There have been moments when I didn't have enough time to examine my motives before acting, if that counts.
-
No one cause I'm a pussy
But "country" is probably closest to my choice anyway
-
Seriously, tho.
Without love I couldn't exist. Love comes before food, before sleep, before clothes, before me.
That makes me pretty naive and dumb but that's okay because love fulfills me and makes me feel the happiest. -
Love with your heart, use your head for everything else.
-
I'd fight for people to be able to live in freedom and for equal justice for all. (la-ame)
But I barely think fighting solves anything at all. Rioting, now there's a sport. All other reasons for fighting seem really pointless to me. Those matters (environment, becoming famous :/) should be settled constructively.
-
I'll put my life on the line for God/Faith and Love (family/friends/her).
I'll also fight for nature, but it comes second to the first two.

By which you mean Austria-Hungary.

@Mrs.:

But I barely think fighting solves anything at all. Rioting, now there's a sport.Unfortunately, I would like to take the view that fighting doesn't solve anything. but for every person who thinks that there is usually a person who will not respond until fighting becomes the only option. And coming from Northern Ireland, a country quite literally torn apart by religious and political 'labels' shall we say - I've seen riots at their worst. Ten year olds throwing bricks at the front lines, at police - why? Because they 'just do.' People attacked solely for their religion as if it makes them evil.
The younger generations are being raised in blindness to what even started the troubles in the first place. Blind sectarianism instilled in impressionable youth.

By which you mean Austria-Hungary.
I mean Bohemia
But there is that little thing that happened a couple of days ago…...
-
What the fuck do you have against Moravia and Southern Silesia you huge asshole.
They carry the entire Czech Republic while you good for nothings in the Bohemian basin just sit around having puppet shows and pretending to be cockroaches. -
I'll start my military service next week and there I'll have to swear that I'm prepared to fight for the country… Although I think that I would never fight for the country itself, only for its people.
Basically I want to fight to protect the things I love.

Give me a heads up before you guys go into action to take back Karelia.

So RPG Jay is the only one who would struggle to protect himself when someone was going to stick a gun to his head?
And Monkey King. Because he was the one gunning him for fun. -
A short history of the Czech Republic:
bohemia: oi oi oi, lets sit in this basin and fart yo
moravia: excuse me i am busy managing this important pass between Northern Europe and the Pannonian Plains
bohemia: FARTRTTT -
@THE:
I am surprised that RPG Jay is the only one who would struggle to protect himself when someone stick a gun to his head.
It's the downside to having a survival instinct. You end up looking like an asshole when you choose your own safety over others.
-
Self-defense is not the qualification of being an asshole LOL.
-
When someone sticks a gun to your head the last thing you want to do is attack them unless you know some crazy martial arts shit and have the reaction time of a god.
Otherwise you're going to be fucking shot.
-
-
Well I think at the end of the day when a gun is pointed at my head I'm more worried about my safety than the safety of others.
I think it's a good start.
-
Unless you know you're going to get shot with the gun regardless, then you might as well try something.

Must learn me some Krav Maga.

LOL.
Or just kick their ass before they successfully stick the gun because they prepare that gun to shoot you and nothing else. -
Two Words:
Human Shield.

Love, freedom, country, Self-approval/ Sense of accomplishment/ Pride and pleasure of fighting.
Freedom: It's more complicated than it first seems. At least to me. Some days ago, I heard a speech about freedom and the lack of it in these days. I won't let them take my freedom, not without a fight!
Self-approval/ pride: Everybody needs to be proud of something he/she accomplished. It helps to accept and love ourselves.
Pleasure: When I fight for something (with weapons, bear hands, knowledge or anything else) my inner dragon comes to life and it's the best feeling in the world (to me at least).
Country: I love my country. I hate some of the people, I sometimes hate to live here, but every time I read a poem written by Petőfi, Arany or Radnóti, I realize that these people could love this country even though living here has never been easy. They managed to find "the heart" of our country, and managed to feel what that heart feels. They managed to somehow make this country a better place.
I want to fight, because there's a war here and as a hungarian (like it or not) I'm in the middle of this damned war, and if I want to be someone, if I want to survive, I have to fight. Maybe, I can make this country a better place for my children, grandchildren etc.
This is, what I want to fight for! -
Hey there's no way to know you have latent superpowers unless you're put in a life or death situation.
It's worth a try.

Rights. Fighting for something that can help the future generation of people.
-
Yes, but the only difference in this situation is that it's one guy with a gun, not a specially trained Navy Seal with the aim of Van Auger.
But in all seriousness, I would never use someone as a human shield, but I'm not making any promises.
I'm severely allergic to bullets.
-
I wonder what people mean with fighting for god/faith

@metteminne:

Yeah I've been wondering that as well.
-
A Jihad or Crusade?

love, own life/comfort, pride, and other.
i hit the vote button too soon, i also wanted to vote for freedom, peace, and humanity.EDIT: i've got a question, which one of those categories best suits 'revenge/retaliation'?
because if someone won't leave me alone and wants to push me to the edge, then i'll glady bash their head against a locker (almost happened once).am i correct in thinking it falls under pride?
-

lolllll, really? Are you guys really this naive?
-
LOL, let not talk about this dumb gunning stuff further because I was just using it as an metaphor and this poll is not a Battle Royale kind of question.

@MDL:
am i correct in thinking it falls under pride?
It can be self-comfort or self-approval.
For Itto Ogami's case, revenge comes from love, justice, and pride. -
I simply fight for what's important to me.
-
What the fuck do you have against Moravia and Southern Silesia you huge asshole.
They carry the entire Czech Republic while you good for nothings in the Bohemian basin just sit around having puppet shows and pretending to be cockroaches.Bohemia as in the historic name of the whole country.
Plus I am a quasi Moravian nationalist, who lives in Ostrava, man lol
Also, because I was itching to post it, the Sedlec Ossuary

I have a tattoo on my arm that says 'revolution'. Its to signify my desire for change. Not just in politics but in every aspect of life that we can improve upon. That is an ideal I found worth fighting for, even if my efforts will make little to no impact on the future. Aside from that I'd go for the usual friends and family option with a splash of myself focused upon.
I want to say country, but I don't care about the people here any more so than any other place any more, and the land is just land, beautiful. I used to be a narrow-minded ass that thought we were still THE EMPIRE! like some gift from god, but the truth is we are all humans and our lives are just as valuable as each others. I'm still trying to find an overall conclusion to how I feel about the world in general nowadays as there is still much I don't know, but I think I at least discovered humanity or what it should be.
The final thing I want to fight for is happiness. I don't know how to find it as a whole through anything other than sheer determination and effort.
