I've been sayin that for a while now. But he shows up and beats up on Hodi for hurting his own kind lol.
I liked this chapter a bunch. Got to see the NFP being silly and fierce. I'm looking forward to the Princes' laying a beat down.
Also to see what Hodi has done to himself with his over dosing. -
Hmmm, I guess I could make a couple of predictions regarding what's happening to Hordi:
1. Corrupted/Corrupting Haki
Possibility: Low and pretty flimsy.
Without getting into a Wall of Text, considering how Haki can be tied into its user's mood and all that, I can't quite discount the possibility that maybe pure loathing or hatred built up over time can have it consume you or something like that. If Silvers never mentioned anything like that to Luffy, like, at all during his two years of training, then this one is pretty much dead.
2. Fishman Frenzy taken to a new level
Possibility: I 'unno
You know when Arlong went into a rage that made him like a Sea King? Perhaps the combination of the steroids, his mood and his injuries could take that to a really frightening level. Also a more neat and clean explanation for why his animal was worried while no one else noticed.
Just my thoughts. -
i dont understand why ppl are saying zeo has the invisibility power. invisibility is not the same thing as camoflouge.

One of those chapters where they're setting it all up. Was kind of hoping to see what happened with Brook's soul but oh well. Can't wait to see what's happened to Hordy, but I have a feeling that he either won't be able to fight well or he'll be able to fight very well but only for a short period of time.

I think I'm gonna just not read chapter discussions 'til the buildup is all over and done with and there's a semi-clear future of the arc visible. This is getting tiring. This is like the Franky Family portion of Water 7. I can already deduce 95% of these things on my own, but I'll look out for things that have to do with the Japanese culture/puns/other mythology aspects, etc.

IMO, this is the kind of chapter most people will be able to appreciate much more once they reread a completed Fishman island arc in a single go. But when it's the little One Piece they get after waiting a week, and having to wait another week for more, they have a selfish little tantrum and abandon all perspective. Obnoxious, really, but that's the internets for you.

I don't see how this chapter was bad at all. We got more character development, and plot development. We learned more about the NFP crew and that the plans to execute the King are underway, with the final scene of Hodi undergoing a frightening transformation.
What I don't like is the fact that Zoro can't seem to solve his own situation without his swords as others mentioned. I found it awkward last chapter that he didn't even try to loosen the chains, which I'm sure he's more than capable of doing. The only explanation for this was for us to witness Brooke's new ability, so I guess I can let it slide for now, but it's still rather annoying.

Some people probably just expected something different.
While it was obvious that the other NFP will get similar attention (after Daruma last chapter) it is unusual for Oda to completely focus on one side. Especially after Luffy's last words "I will have to beat you up, Jinbe!", many were looking forward to the outcome of their dispute, or at least some progression.
And that's why I (and probably a few others) could not enjoy the chapter, even if it was not THAT bad.
Speaking for myself, page after page I was hoping that the scene finally changes from the NFP's to where the real action is, but it didn't happen.

By that he is able, just like a chameleon, to disguise himself while adjusting his skin colour with his surroundings. -

The whole no match for the strawhats is a bunch of bullshit. The only ones that got a great amount stronger is Luffy, Sanji and Zoro and maybe Zoro. Of course Luffy got to a level where most on the island right now wuld be fodder to him but the rest of the mugiwara's will have plenty of hard opponents. We still haven't seen the supossed people stronger than Hodi on the island.(I think we will soon since Hodi seems out of the picture) It's not like franky will stomp dosun. At least I dont think so.
I expect difficult figths for everyone. Especially difficult fights.

Usopp vs VDD/zen

I'm somehow not really liking this chapter, not because of characterisation, which was hilarious at parts, but more because those Fishmen Pirates (apart from Hyouzo) just seem… weak, and I don't like that at all. Especially already being introduced to the weakness of Ikarus kind of kills the suspense of the fight for me, because it will all be just waiting for whoever fights him to use fire... Well, Oda might pull something, but I still didn't like this chapter as such.
Also, because the cliffhanger of the Jinbe-Luffy fight is now 2 weeks old - that's just mean
I guess it's good to know though that ALL the sea monsters are under Hodi's control, so he really is something... And I also predict that the constant taking of steroids kind of put him in an uber mode now... Otherwise the bear wouldn't have this shock expression.
Oh, also thought that it appears even the Sea Bear got steroids?

I think this chapter did good for Hodi. Until now he was the boss of NFP using steds to overpower people to rule FI… but this chapter shows how vulnerable he is to the steds and what they might turn him into (a powerhouse is my guess, so that Luffy has an opponant that's at least equal to him). He doesn't seem to have everything under control and that's a change from previous villians, so we really don't know what to expect, which will probably be seen as a good thing once FI is wrapped up.

All the people complaining about the characterization in this chapter are the same people who are going to question everything in a few weeks when the crazy fighting starts "Who is this person/how can he do that/etc". So for now people let's let them have their rage and then watch the fun ensue when they have no idea what is going on because they didn't want to waste 5 minutes of their life properly reading a chapter.

I meant to say luffy sanji zoro and usopp. What I was trying to say is that the rest of the crew hopefully haven't reached a new platform. What was holding Luffy back from really being taken serious was not having haki. The Other two we're fine as the second and third strongest it was just that Luffy wasn't strong enough to keep up with his crazy stunts.
I doubt Nami and robin will be taking out people as strong as rob lucchi. Usopp won't be taking down ryumma(or maybe he could:wub:). So it's not like the crew doubled in strenght just learned new things(except maybe the monster trio and Usopp). I think a guy who can knock houses away with one shot can compete with franky and even hurt him believe it or not.
Really think about it. Nami learned some new moves I doubt she's faster more durable or physically stronger same with Robin. We all know what franky was working on.. more weapons since im sure all his physical strenght is from his human body and not some engine he may be stronger but I doubt he'll be flicking away that hammer. So I wasn't saying that they weren't stronger only that physically their not that much stronger. Cause we all know that in One Piece speed and power>>> weapons and new moves. Speed blitzing and smackdowns IMO are the foundation and most respectable/scared parts of this manga.

See thats the thing about One Piece Oda hypes his main charcters more than he hypes their opposition it's not the typical shonen where the main protaganist is useless and struggles to get better, no when we first met Luffy he was stomping the shit outta everybody. He recieved so much hype that he had to recieve cool down from pretty much when they met aokiji all the way to when Ace died and even through all that he got pretty decent hype.
It's cause he likes to make his strong charcters look weak and people with crazy powers usually are pretty weak. Look at Luffy his power is rubber. People with strong abilties tossed to the side like children(mr 5, miss valentine, foxy). These guys may look average but I bet they put up more than a decent fight. Cause abilties actually mean something in OnePiece they don't dictate the fight but they do come in handy.
In fact I don't see how they come off as weak. One guy's invisible the other has the power of basically crocodile's right hand and some impressive physical strikes and the other casually smacks buildings away.
This same theory is why I have faith that urouge is going to bee a beast. Most people say wow a big guy who get's even bigger. His weapon? A punch… When I see wow this is a guy Oda made and he has no DF abilty or weapons... he's going to be kicking some ass the old school way.

CP9 impressed me much more when they appeared, for me CP9 is stronger than NFP. Sorry Oda.
I hope Hodi doesn't transform into a slender, ripped fishman (just like jack hanma vs baki).
Still, this has the potential to be the best arch ever in One Piece.

It's been said above… this is the kind of chapter that we'll appreciate more once the arc is over. Not every chapter is going to blow up with hype... people need to relax on that shit. Personally I think this is the chapter we needed. It's giving us more on the villians that make the arc unique, and building up tension for the execution of the king. So what if the SHs weren't shown or some abilities have been re-used - we'll see the SHs again, don't worry, and about the re-used abilities... c'mon give Oda a break, he's still created some wacky villians with weird personalities and we have the whole of the NW to go, he isn't gonna bust out the new abilities too soon (can't imagine him thinking of too many more unique DFs/ abilities).

Yeah I've seen the original on TV its pretty epic.
I tried to find a Wobbegong(Type of fish Zeo is) one but they don't have many videos, and Wobbegongs don't do what is shown in the video. I'm thinking Zeo was going to be an Octopus, but Oda already had Hyouzo in the works.
