Frankly, I don't worry too much about the whole mega final smash thing since in the end, most of the time I'll just play without items, since it's not like I have a lot of instances of playing with four people.

Unless we organize AP Forums Smash Bashes. Oh man, we should totally do that!

Yeah. Even Project M 1v1 stuff right now could be pretty fun, too. also good practice for my first tourney coming up in end of March, though I doubt there are enough people dabbling with that here to organize something.

But yeah, it's pretty much a guarantee to throw something to smash around with when smash 4 comes out.

A bit of a selfish request, but can someone summarize all of the new things/details about this game so far? Including release date if it's been announced.

3DS's version's got stages from handheld games, Wii U's from home console games.

Confirmed characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Rosalina ( and Luma ), Donkey Kong, Link and Toon Link, Zelda, Samus, Pikachu, Lucario, Kirby, Dedede, Sonic, Marth, Olimar, Pit, the Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, Animal Crossing's villager, Fox.

No release date has been given so far.

There's no tripping this time around, Xerneas (not sure of the spelling, but it's the legendary from Pokemon X) is a Pokeball summon, new assist trophies include Ashley from Wario Ware and Skull Kid from the Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, and there's no story like the Subspace Emissary in this game (though that doesn't rule out a Melee-style Adventure Mode).

It's not confirmed just assumed. We know pokeballs are back and the sky in the xerneas screen looks like it's from battlefield however as all we can see is the sky it could be a pokemon level

That is the currently revealed list not final roster. There will most definitely be more characters to be revealed

Hmm…Two of my least favorites in Brawl made it. Both Lucario and Toon Link. The roster so far is looking grim for me but I have faith in Sakurai and his team that the character roster will put Melee and Brawl to shame. Still hoping for a ton of other characters like Chrom, Tharja and Mewtwo and maybe another 3rd party character.

That's quite a difference in Aura Spheres. I'm gettin kinda scared of what he's capable of now and what people will do with him.

wow you can actually see the difference now. In Brawl I could never see any difference in his aura spheres. also I don't like how they look it looks more like a shadow ball to me

Actually, if you look: Brawl, the aura sphere is just about the size of Lucario. In the new one, the sphere is a Lucario skull and a half bigger that him.

Well, like Rosalina having some posts about her and her mechanics following her debut, seeing as it seems that Lucario's aura mechanics have been beefed up, it's not too surprising to see that he's getting some individual posts focusing on what was buffed.

So hopefully this means the Spear Pillar stage doesn't make a return? I'm normally okay with stage hazards, but I wasn't a huge fan of the characters' directions constantly switching (especially since the AI had no problem adjusting to the change).

And now it will happen on every…single...stage since palkia and I would presume dialga are both pokeball summons now

Assuming their abilities are still the same of course. It seems like maybe Spacial Rend is now some sort of attack now instead of moving things upsidedown.

That seems to be the case from looking at the screen. It's a cool, different way of doing it with Palkia lacing Spacial Rend into its claw slashes, and anyone who gets hit suffers the effects of it for a limited time**(Assuming they don't get knocked out from heavy damage by its attack… ;P)**.

Anyway they do it, it's cool to know Palkia's back, and surely Dialga won't be far behind.

But that doesn't matter, Mother Brain looks AWESOME! That's how you finish a week, much like Lucario did last week.

One of the things I love about Smash Bros. is Sakurais' attention to detail for the franchises; From the Zero Mission design to the shattered glass casing and the Rinkas protecting M. Brain, it's just perfect.
