      Hullo, here's an intesting phenomenon…

I cannot download from BitTorrent websites. Originally, when the program was first enabled, the original server selected was in Britain; however, when my father made an idiot mistake and deleted the original program, each other server that emulated BitTorrent has resulted in a virtual doldrum; none of the downloads ever finish. Never.

The Britain server is filled, so another spot cannot be taken there. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

What program? What is this original program? and what is Virtual Doldrum? Which downloads? The BT downloads?

Please explain exactly what you are doing from which site and what you are trying to download.

Hmm, I also have some torrent problems.

I was trying to download "March of the Penguins" and found its torrent in www.bitenova.org

Unfortunately, when I use Bittorrent to open it, it says that:
"This is not a valid torrent file. (not a valid bencoded string)"

Any thoughts? Help would be appreciated…

Probably means that the link to the file was either named wrong, or it doesn't exist.

right click save as the torrent, and save it to your computer, make sure it's extension is .torrent. Then open up the torrent you saved onto your comp, that should do the trick.

Use azureus, I find it much faster than the bittorrent program itself. ^-^

Signature removed because file size exeeded the limit.

Thanks to Jeece for the sig.

speed matters not when it comes to programs, and that post was irrelevant to the problem at hand, please only post when you have an answer.

You mean the client? The original client can be found at http://www.bittorrent.com/ though I don't recommend using that. I would recommend Bitcomet (http://www.bitcomet.com/) or azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/)

Hey, I have a problem. I'm in a dorm, but my torrents won't connect. I do have firewall and I allowed the torrent ports. The problem seems to be that the seeds and peers just aren't showing up on my computer. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Hum.. not sure how to help you. For my weird computer, I remember some client didn't work and I tried another. Lo and behold, it worked.

Anyway to add on about clients, I don't know if this is true about others but for Bitcomet, it allows you to choose what files you want to download in a batch torrent. Pretty handy if you want to get single eps of anime.

either your client has been banned on the tracker, or your dorm connection has blocked the ports themselves, both would be out of your hands.

You could just try another client.

Or use another port for BT connections. There are so many ports to choose from your dorm can't possibly be blocking all of them.
