No, It's not "Jaws", nor is it a remake of Jaws.

It's just a story about a shark that eats people, much like Jaws.

I think the trailer is hilarious. It starts off as this fun vacation/getaway-type summer movie and then, out of nowhere, turns ominous with an abrupt "But then…".

...So am I the only one who thinks the movie is very much like "Jaws"(....or maybe even that movie about Piranhas)?

And am I the only one who finds the trailer hilarious? :ninja:

EDIT: The trailer says "Summer 2011", but the movie comes out on September 2. So. At the tail end of summer?

I mean, god damn. Just when we, as a population, were just starting to get over our stupid fear of sharks (They're actually pretty docile unless they're provoked) that came about after Jaws was released, this happens.

It's not just this movie, didn't they just have one where a surfer girl got her arm bit off. And it was based on a true story too!
I hope this one's a pointlessly indulgent as Pirhana 3D was.

In keeping with the tradition put forth by this movie of Putting Sharks where they ain't usually put, I suggest the next movie revolve around sharks being put in a bathtub.

I can see it now. "Just when you thought it was safe to go in the shower…"

Sequel to that? "Pool Shark". Self explanatory in itself, but just in case: it'll involve sharks being put into a beach changing room.

Unless the featured sharks are Bull Sharks, which I believe are one of the few sharks that can freely swim in both saltwater and fresh water terrain.

Normally I don't like horror films in the slightest, but that trailer was hilarious to me. It really did come out of nowhere. Dammit people, stop going into the water! It's not a land shark for god's sake. Someone ought to make a parody. I can just envision the shark being like "What now, motherfuckers?!" and just gunning everyone down.

And what the hell at this movie. Are horror writers so fresh out of ideas that a crappier imitation of Jaws is all they can put together? Christ, just take any random animal and make it eat people! BAM!! Horror movie!

They're not exactly known for their volunteer social service work.

Though if I saw a shark handing out soop to homeless people, my head would burst.
