If it's good then change the name but I honestly thought that Fox wasn't going through with this.
Fox….Napoleon Dynamite....Cartoon......Sigh
-
-
What happened to that Burger show they were raving so much about a little while back?
I don't see this lasting though. It isn't made by Seth McFarlane.
-
Sometimes I think I'm the only one who didn't get what the big deal was with this movie.
-
I liked the movie and all but…...no, just no.
-
Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
I think Fox is playing a game. "How many shows can we release that will make our network 40x more unattractive?"

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who didn't get what the big deal was with this movie.
I hated it, so you're fine.

I thought the movie was just…..okay. Not horrible, but I can't really say I enjoyed watching it. Felt bland to me.
But an animated series based on it? Not really expecting much.
-
How many jokes do you think they'll reuse?
-
Based on the wealth of jokes within that trailer, I can't wait for every episode to recycle the popular jokes from the film.
-
Napoleon Dynamite's voice is poison for my ears. I will not watch this as I did not watch the movie.
-
Fox you're lucky you have Fringe and House because pretty much everything you air nowadays is crap.
-
It does not look too bad, but it's only a trailer. I'll give it 3 episodes to please me. I'm desperately in need of a new show to like on the Sunday block(aside from American Dad).
-

You're not the only one. Saw it, didn't get it…though the dance sequence near the end to Jamiroquai was cool.
But this...wait, how many animated series does Fox has now? And...well will they wake up and realize they are all the same...and not getting me to watch one of them?
-
my fail detector is going off.
what does fox think their doing -
I really liked the movie….I know quite a few people that hate it, though. But this...this I do not want to see.
-
I'll admit it, I laughed more watching that trailer than I thought I would.
I don't, however, think the show will be good. They probably just took the best jokes and put them in the trailer, everything else will fail.
-
the idea of making a napolian cartoon seems good to me, but that trailer didn't win any points with me.
-
I don't expect this to be good, but the trailer was well made.
-
The movie was based on an uncanny slice of life. Something both real, yet really weird. Love it or hate it, that's what it was about and turning into a cartoon negates that.
-
Ummm interesting. I like the animation though.
I never liked the movie though, but i want to ask. Was the movie based in the 80's or something? The settings and the school itself just made me believe it was in a different time period….is that right?
-

Looks like Mike Judge's work to me or whoever did the character designs for Beavis & Butthead.

correct answer. you get a cookie
-
Wasn't it present time? Seeing as they had online dating sites.

You hit the nail on the head…that's why this bothers me, I think.
-
This is just annoying to know about.
-
Y'know, the more I look at it, the more I think they're trying to recreate King of the Hill.
-
Y'know, the more I look at it, the more I think they're trying to recreate King of the Hill.
eaw. no. that is not king of the hill >_>
-
I know it's not, but that's what it looks like they're going for. A successor for King of the Hill.
-
Except Napoleon looks kind of like what you would get if you mixed together Beavis and Butthead.
-
The pilot episode wasn't bad. I liked how dead on Pedro's character was. But as for ND himself? I dunno. His voice seemed a bit too over the top at times rather than constantly sleepy. I'll give it 2 more episodes. It seems promising so far.
-
They canceled Clerks: The Animated Series for this?
-
Goodie. A second episode. Didn't know there was two.
"Thanks for taking me to Mexico"
Pedro: That was my house
I'm floored.
-
Missed the Pilot but the second episode was pretty funny. It's not dumb like Family Guy and feels a lot more like King of the Hill. Definitely better than the blind jokes in tonight's Family Guy.
-
I had negative expectations for this show…..and from what I've seen of the pilot and all of the second episode, it's better than I thought it'd be. Let's see how it fares in the future....
-
I haven't seen the show, but the few clips I've seen so far made me giggle? That's good, I guess?
-
I watch both episodes last night and they were funny XD
-
-
This was much better than I expected it to be. They're really using the characters well, and having the actual movie cast voicing them helps make it all the more genuine and convincing. I think it's just a matter of how long the show can keep up its quality.
-
Saw a commercial for this while watching the Packers Giants game. I thought it looked pretty stupid to be honest. Who knows though.
-
@RobbyBevard:
Canceled after 6 episodes?
Lol, that happening would not surprise me at all.
-
Well, it got really good ratings for the night.~
-
@RobbyBevard:
Canceled after 6 episodes?
Get out.
-
Its only got 6 episodes ordered so far. So it has a good chance of being canceled and replaced with Bob's Burgers since it hasn't been announced that its canceled yet.
I watched the first two episodes. The second one was far better. I wouldn't say this is a great show, but it does get some chuckles here and there. Its like if animated sitcoms were spices, it'd be mildly hot.
-
So you are saying Dynamite is competing against Bob's recent ratings? Gosh
-
If it's a ratings war between BB and ND, ND's premiere was higher than Bob's. BB comes back in March after the end of ND's run. At this rate, ND's chances of renewal are pretty darn good.
-
@RobbyBevard:
Canceled after 6 episodes?
Six Episodes and a Movie?
-
Why would we just now be getting a show for this? Why not back when it was fresh?
-
I guess toying with the idea to do it or the creators had other projects before then.
Regardless I like the show so far. It takes advantage of the toon shift but it doesn't really go too over the top. Keeping the absurdity of the movie. Unlike the movie though its working on a shorter time frame so of course the humor is a little faster pace. But it still keeps the absurdity of the film which is really all I can ask for. Its not bad, I'll keep a lookout for it in the future.
-
The show itself was alright, it's actually a decent adaption of the film that throws in enough goofiness to justify it being animated. Tina eating that bird for instance.
The more important thing is that this show replaced Allan Gregory, which makes it the best thing to happen to television animation in the last two decades.
-
Well that's good. Allen Gregory was terrible.
-
I enjoyed the pilot, gonna watch the second episode today.
As bad as this show could've been… it turned into the exact opposite.
"Well, well, if it isn't Tinkerbell and Taco bell"
I'm wrong for laughing, but I did.
