Budokai 4

Not much talk about this'n.

So far, from the site and ton of IGN coverage, it looks damn good. The characters, graphics, system, and (supposedly) voices have all been redone. I'd at least try it because it's not just a slightly beefed version like Budokai 2 was to the original.

Though, like I said before, I don't like the "behind you" view. The camera in Budokai 3 was awesome, and outside of a mech game, this looks cumbersome. And Sabat as announcer….

....Some DB characters wouldn't hurt either.

They should make a budokai game with the characters from the original dragonball game, same with the "Levels" like fighting Tao Pai Pai or Piccolo. That would be amazing, but everyone's too indepth with DBZ now a days. >_<

Yeah, this is "Sparking!" And yeah, it gets points for having Guldo in there. I really hope they don't cut DB Goku to make room for the lame GT characters.

There is a side scroller for the GBA that covers all of DB, but only in Japan. My friend has it, and it's a pretty cool game.

Play Asia probably has it.

This does look promising.

I'm kind of glad and sad that Chaozu's in it. On one hand, it means they haven't forgotten about the "other" characters. And on the other hand, he's really lame. :P Knowing the previous budokai games, he'll have like two moves, the second oft he moves being a stronger variation of the first.

Guys I want in it:
Tao Pai Pai (fat chance)
Paikuhan (hell, Janemba's in it, I'd say he has a fairly good chance)
Dai Kaio (another fat chance, but he's awesome)
Kuririn with more moves than the "destructo disc."
Anyone but Garlic Jr.,Videl, or Pan.

Actually Cap'n, I have heard that Tao Pai Pai IS in the game. I'll try to find some visual confirmation for you though. If one of his moves involves a tree chop, then I may just die.

And for the record, this isn't Budokai 4. It's called Budokai Tenkaichi in the states b/c they didn't think it would sell without the 'Budokai' connotation. Just look at Sagas…hehe. Although...since this game has little to do with the actual Tenkaichi Budokai and they stupidly reversed the name....gah, I dunno.

there is no Budokai 4. the game you are talking about is called Budokai Tenkaichi, which is known as Sparking!! in Japan.

check out the the ryo mito interview. at about 43 seconds into it, you can spot Tao Pai Pai on the character selection screen!

Budokai Tenkaichi does look like a very great game! I just wish it wasn't a PS2 exclusive! >_<

yeah, roshi and tao are in this. so are a bunch of others who haven't been in any of the other budokais. i'm still pissed off that pikkon or tapion won't be in the game :glare:. i don't think these people like filler characters like pikkon or garlic i guess =(. and another thing that isn't that great is that there's a big chance there won't be in game transformations.

I don't like the Budokai fighting system in the slightest. The whole customize-your-moves thing is fair enough, but I'd rather have a system like Street Fighter or King of Fighters. That would rock.

This game will probabley be better than the others because it was actually a Japanese made game, and then they just changed it for the U.S. to make it part of the Boudokai series. I only have the first 2 anyways, my interest in DBZ has lowered.

Since this game is being made by a completely different development team, the fighting system is going to be different as well. It's supposed to be pretty similar to Legends, but I've never played that one.

That GameFAQs thread has pretty good info about the fighting system, as well as all the confirmed characters and other good stuff (in the first couple of posts, anyway).

Now all I hope is that they don't rely on those little combos these tests are hell bent on showing off.

That mean Jeice and that frog guy are in it too, but fin' time! This game looks so promising. I know that some reviewers are gonna s on it but, people are defenatly gonna like it. I sure will, but the camera is gonna be a big problem though.

It seems to me like a lot of people are going to say "…?" to this game. For every decent DBZ game (well, B3 was great), there's a stinker. After Sagas, I'm sure DBZ is very low on many radars.

Oh, and Janemba. Be thankful if we even get him; US gamers' shins are notoriously easy targets.
