This flashback is ten times better in the anime. Very enjoying episode!

No, it isn't. It was the weekly wait and the urge to return to the main timeline that made this arc in the manga not as appealing
Man this arc is pretty important… I dont care what people say it was time to know where luffy came from and how he is who he is. We know all about the other strawhats and their past but we only know how luffy acts we never knew what made him be the way he is. In my opinion it was perfect placement. I'm also a strong believer in the return of sabo. Why would Oda spend so much time building up Sabo's character (away from luffy and ace) when it doesnt relate to luffy. Oda doesnt develop characters and then kill them off. Mark my words Sabo is alive and with dragon. Dragon and Sabo both talked about freedom. It's just like oda to bring sabo back with dragon.
Ace wants to be loved
Luffy wants to be the best ever with his friends
Sabo just wants to be a free man from this goverment he hates
Ace found family with whitebeard
Luffy is on the road to pirate king with his crew
So sabo is defiantly with dragon.
I mean come on... Dragon in the same place as Sabo while he realizes he hates the world government. So expect to see sabo in the future.

Anime and Manga are usually one year apart.
Eleven weeks until Sept. Wouldn't be surprised to see the flashback take up another five episodes with the remaining episodes covering the aftermath, SNs and of course, a recap of East Blue/"Paradise" GL.
Although they could just continue with the manga and stretch out certain ones into 2 episodes per manga sometimes maybe 3 - there is a lot of oppertunity for fleshed out filler as opposed to completely random filler.

If you're outside of the US - Funi and Hulu will not work normally. Which is a shame kind of leaves those of us in the rest of the world in a position we'd rather not be in.
There's enough programs out there you can use to bypass Hulu and FUNi's region locking.
I see. Thank you guys and regarding this episode. I do not understand why people do not like sabo, he is such a cute little boy. They are complete rascals and I love them. This specific time is what brought us the luffy and ace we know. This is their formative years and well, we all know what a good persons they became.
Dragons voice shook me for like 3 seconds and then I was like yea I can dig this. He sounds like someone who's gonna change the world haha. He's got the voice of freedom.
This episode was pretty good_._ I am still not a fan of Dragon's voice, it doesnt suit him that well .

Anyway, I don't like the pacing of the anime, they should have picked up with their pace during a background story (I just want to get closer to timeskip D:)... well, only 2 more episodes and we're done with it. I still think the anime is great. Even though, I enjoy the manga. I find the anime a bit more detailed which I like.

Lovely episode. This whole arc has been pretty solid, actually (minus the filler that was mediocre). Pacing has been decent, even with the filler.

I have no complaints with Dragon's VA; King Bradley is awesome. I just have problems with Dragon's VA being Dragon's VA.
I'm actually torn in between here. Dragon's voice is perfect for a revolutionary. I'm not sure how to describe it but it sounds rich and has a lot of conviction. These characteristics are best suited for inspiring speeches imo. BUT, I find it weird that Luffy's dad sounds as old as his Granddad.
Well, it's just a person's personal preferences.
Some people like the old, gritty feel of Dragon's voice and others don't.
I personally don't like it because, like it's been mentioned, he sounds like an old man and at parts where he's supposed to be screaming, he's just talking a bit louder than usual.
Dragon has a wind logia or something?
I'm not sure if it's ever been confirmed, but he seems to have the ability to create wind and lightning, so I'm thinking something along the lines of the Storm Storm Fruit.
