A.k.a. Why is this manga in Jump it's so bad I don't understand.

It's a story about this dude and his childhood friend along with this other girl for added drama. The childhood friend goes into a coma, yet Keisuke, the main character, is the only one who can see her ghost (and she's in pajamas; hence the title). Makura, the girl, can't remember what happened right before she "died", so the mystery and point of the series is to find a way to bring her back to normal.

And the other girl? She's helping out. Except she and the rest of the people in their school don't know Makura's in a coma for some reason. Predictably, A love triangle ensues; along with drama like jealousy at the beach, a kidnapping, and Keisuke getting stabbed in the chest by a dude with a knife.

It's also ecchi. Normally that's not a notable thing in itself; but dear god, this manga is just so creepy about it.

It's not Masakazu Zura, it's Masakazu Katsura.

But yes, I also dropped it after reading 1 page. It's a record for me, and it ties with Harisugawa for the same reason.

If it makes you feel better, it's ranking just as low and just as likely for cancellation.
But yeah, this is garbage from the little I've read.

But it's starting a new arc, while Barrage is all "GOTTA GO FAST".

Unless the author has to stop mid-arc. That'd be lulzy.

Sigh…I read this and Momiji, and feel a sour sensation in my stomach.
I suppose I have an unfair bias that most shounen romance titles are garbage, but then there was "Pretty Face" with the romance, and fanservice all intact. In fact, some of the fanservice was downright vulgar. But Pretty Face was awesome! It had everything that a decent Shounen title should have (and more). Why can't any of these recent romance titles pull something awesome like "Pretty Face"? I don't even know why I brought up Pretty Face in this thread. Cries in the corner

Go read Nisekoi, valiantt. There is a reason why it keeps taking names and scoring high in the questionnaires, and I would actually like to know what you think of it in comparison with these other two Jump romances. Of course Nisekoi is more of a lightheaded harem romance instead of an actual full-on romance series, but I have been enjoying its silliness quite a bit recently and I honestly don't think it is that bad as a Shonen series. I think it would be interesting to see what someone with knowledge of all the three has to say about it.

Den-ei Shoujo / Video Girl Ai is still my all-time WSJ romance manga favorite.
The growth and transition of protagonist from dorky idiot to manly stud, Ai's transition from Best Friend to Love Interest, are still unsurpassed after all these years.

Btw, when asked if there was any indication in next WSJ issue of Bulge ending coming soon, he said he didn't see one, but it seems Pajama looks like it's ending. The TOC spoiler guy said the next chapter editorial note said "climax next chapter" as well.

Looks like this one's getting sacked.

So Pajama na Kanojo's gonna end with less chapters than Double Arts.

THERE IS JUSTICE IN THE WORLD.

And Barrage isn't gonna end before it. That's great too.
