_Spider-Man is dead. After years of battling super villians and saving New York from bi-weekly disaster, the wall crawler meets a gruesome end. The superhero's death sends New York into a downward spiral. Crime reaches new heights as poverty and homelessness spread like viruses, By the year 2099, New York citizens live in fear of a near-totalitarian regime.

Above it all sits Alchemax, a mega corporation that has it's talons in everything from the commercial sciences and politics to organized crime. However this is not how history was supposed to transpire. The Universe is off balance, and only one person is aware of the time paradox. That man is Miguel O' Hara, brilliant geneticist who moonlights as the Spider-Man of the future. In order to save his own time, this Spider-Man will need to completely rewrite history._

Spidey is respected by most heroes and even most villians. He basically the proving ground for new villians. Could put whoever tries to take his place in a rough spot. Plus how many of the other heroes in NYC deal with street crime, organized crime, and city destroying villians?

Not really up until Spider-Man 2 people used to consider Maximum Carnage & the PSOne,N64,Dreamcast Spider-Man to be the best games in the series. This whole open world jazz is overrated in my opinion swinging around a virtual representation of New York stopping random crimes, racing against other superheroes,saving civilians, climbing the highest building and jumping off is fun for like 10 minutes then it gets dull.

Well if they were able to mix it up with what made the original games so great then we could have a masterpiece. I agree with the boredom; it does get old after a while. The open worldness needs to be kept in check with some good old scripted action.

I still do. MC was a blast. The only thing that could've made it better was two-players. But when they finally did it with Separation Anxiety, the enemy variety was awful, and the game just didn't feel like it had the same amount of love put into it.

Probably because of no music from Green Jelly.

Well Vemon has always been good. Ish.

He just really hates Spidey and blames him for everything from stubbing his toe, to bad sequels. But when he's not trying to eat Spidey's spleen he spends his time dealing with crime with EXTREME PREJUDICE.

Though he seems to been better behaved and more willing to work with Spidey as Anti-vemon.

But still it's a video game. They can bend the rules.

Yeah, and unless I'm mistaken, there's something in the game's story itself which explains why Anti-Venom is now pitted so furiously against Spidey.
