What if one of the main protagonist of ONE PIECE dies, what will you feel or do after reading / watching it?
Tell me your story ^^,
As for me if one of them dies, i might stop reading or watching it for about a month.

One is already dead. YoHOhoOhOhoho!
Well Merri died kind of.
But if done well and reasonable I think it would work. Won't happen though.
On the other hand I think it would have been neat if Brook had joined as a human knowing he ate a DF without knowing the ability. After dying to protect the others he gets a funeral and stuff and some arcs later he catches up as the skeleton telling the others that it must be the DF's work or something like that. I'm not good at storytelling but I think Oda could pull it off.
If anyone's going to die, I think it'll be luffy at the end of the manga. I had this feeling ever since he started using gear 2nd.

I kinda like the story line for brook, but i guess Oda has some good plans for brook since we all got shock and a little bit excited when we knew that he is a friend of laboon.
Well not die per se, but if I had to have anything close to it, I would much rather see Nami horribly maimed early on in the New World by an extremely powerful adversary, loosing both her left arm and right leg. Thus requiring metalic prosthetics built by Franky & Ussop, using her notes to embedd Weather Technology into her limbs, increasing her strength and giving her an appearence vaguely smiliar to Color Walk 1.
Sadly, the above image is the most badass Nami's ever going to be.
That's a pretty awesome art work you have there, did you make it?

I didn't make it, Oda did. It's one of his early concept designs for Nami in Color Walk 1. Obviously, it wasn't the designed he used for Nami in One Piece, but that's not to say that it couldn't be made a possibility.
I'm of the opinion that if any of them die, it'll be all of them together, laughing at death like Roger after a final flash-forward at the end of the series.

It just may happen, but come on not Luffy! He's too bad-ass to die!!!!:ninja:

You typed THE twice so you might want to edit that also every member of the crew would have been killed by Kizaru if Kuma had not teleported them away!
The crew lost their first ship that could talk so some people count that as a crew member that is dead however Brook died so he is the first and Luffy was close to Ace who he failed to save which is why Luffy agreed to the 2 year training because he was not strong enough to save his crew!
Shanks/Garp care about Luffy and he cares about them they might die before the end of One piece because Garp is old and Blackbeard seems to want to kill Shanks.
Luffy's gonna die in the end. Although I suppose if one of the crew members were to die it'd be Usopp. I mean if just one of them had to go before the end, Usopp would probably be the most poignant.
I agree with the theory of Luffy dying in the end of the series. It is the most logic thing. As for the other Straw Hats I don't think that someone will die by the end of the story, just because there isn't a reason for them to die.If any Straw Hat die,I think it will ruin the atmosphere in the crew and the story will be really generic and sad after that. But if neccessarily someone must die,he/she will die for Luffy/the rest of the crew, like Zoro back in TB.To be honest I think that as the story progress every Straw Hat will get into fights which will drastictly change their appereances, like that guy before me said with Nami.
Luffy seems to be following a path virtually parallel to that of the Roger (hat included). Roger didn't die until after he had already become the king and found Raftel. I couldn't imagine the series going on after Luffy gets to the end of the Grand Line and becomes king (if that is what will happen)…it would honestly ruin it if it did. It is possible, depending on how closely Oda wants to link the two, that Luffy may succumb to some illness implying he will die after the series finishes and adding a final time constraint at the last leg of the journey. There could also be something where he finds Raftel and then we never get to know what the one piece is and there is some flash-forward to him dying/being executed and creating a new generation of pirates to seek what he had accomplished. All just speculation though.

Or maybe after he becomes the king,a massive war between the WG,Yonkou,Pirates,Revolutonaries and other forces start, and in the battle Luffy returns the hat to Shanks and then other stuff happen. What I am trying to say is even after Luffy becomes king,Oda can continues the story with a massive war(?) for example as closing arc..Who knows..

Since they have been building up luffy to be just like Roger, I'd imagine a death similar to his.
But then again this will never happen, nor would I want it too. There's just no reason to do so.

Aren't you the guy that made the One Piece RPG ? Anyways, for the question, it depends who dies. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Franky, and a lot of the others are irreplaceable because of the extent toward their strength/skills. The only SHs in my opinion that can be replaced are Usopp and Brook, although even then the crew would have a hard time continuing with the loss of a member. So in short they can't be replaced so most likely none will die unless it's the end.

If Luffy were to fall ill in the end, Chopper not being able to cure him with his "dream" cure-all knowledge would kind of make Chopper's dream pointless all together. But I do think Luffy's body with fail him due to his excessive use of gear 2 and 3.

The dmg from gear 2 or 3 was what I was thinking when I said illness. Guess excessive stress on the body is more like what it is. Not sure if his haki training somehow negated that dmg though by making his body strong enough to withstand it.
Yeah. Luffy's gonna die at the end. If he wasn't, Oda wouldn't added that "Gear 2 shortens your lifespan" tidbit.

I'm glad I'm not the only who's thought of this. It'd be awesome, and an excuse for Nami to get some more actiony fights.
Too bad it'll never happen.

Yep, especially since he's the most normal of the crew. He'd go out with a blaze of glory to rival that of a thousand flaming chariots.
On another note, it reminded me of some fanfic I read awhile back. It dealt with how the Strawhats would react pretty well.

And because of the hormones he got from ivankov at impel down and marinefold. As I remember ivankov said it'll cost him 10 years of his life for the treatment against the poison.
I honestly don't think I could take it if one of the Straw Hats died. I just skimmed through that fanfic that Cruithne posted, and I'm tearing up already. I've become so attached to these characters, its hard to imagine what would happen if one of them died. I don't think any of 'em will die, though. Oda wouldn't do that. And I definitely think Luffy won't die at the end either.

I was going to go with "fullmetal alchemist fanart" theory until I got to the part where you said it was drawn by Oda. Weird.
Does anyone really think that Oda will have Luffy mirror Roger down to the "t"? Why would he make it that predictable, essentially giving away the conclusion of the story years in advance?
All that stuff about Gear 2 and hormones is devices Oda uses to raise the stakes, nothing more. If he didn't create higher tension that way, he'd actually have to go and maim or kill his characters, and we all know how often that has happened.
If anything he likes defying expectations, that is what creates the drama in One Piece.
Usopp dying would be the only one to make sense if it did happen, which it won't. I mean he dies after being the only one to 'betray' the crew, Robin left to save her friends but Usopp quit out of anger at his captain. Usopp saving Luffy from Blackbeard would be sick but it won't happen. I think Shanks (obviously not a crewmember) is destined to die at Blackbeard's hands and probably most of the Red Haired Pirates. I also think Luffy will follow in Roger's footsteps and either turn himself in or die from using G2 & Ivankov's hormones.
I also think Luffy will follow in Roger's footsteps and either turn himself in or die from using G2 & Ivankov's hormones.
Well, I guess that answers my question.
For shame.
Yeah, I also think that Luffy transforming into a carbon copy of Roger is no good. They already have some differences (Luffy doesn't engage in fights over petty words), so I seriously doubt they'll share the same fate. Where Roger and his crew found out the history but weren't sure if they even had it right, Luffy has Robin, so his quest doesn't simply end with finding One Piece. Will Luffy live a long life after his adventure has come to an end? Not likely, but I don't see him dying, either…
I think Luffy will loose an arm like shanks, but that sounds ridiculous don't you think?
Here's what I think will happen: we will get to see more similarities between Luffy and Roger, and at the end, Luffy will be contracted by some terminal disease, but unlike Roger, he will survive.
It would really suck if he didn't, because that would mean that Chopper didn't accomplish his dream of being able to cure all diseases.
what if Luffys Hat is killed at the end of the story?
I would stop watching one piece !!!! My world would fall apart…!!!!
I actually thought about this when reading the interview where Oda said MarineFord was a side trip.
I don't like the idea of any character dying from a disease.
1. It would essentially kill Chopper's dream.
2. Roger turned himself in because he had a plan for the future of the world (the Pirate Era IMO).
Luffy doesn't care about things like that, and sure as hell isn't going to give himself up for any deep cause.
3. The crew has gone through a lot. An incurable disease seems off because they have a doctor who wants to heal every disease,
and when Nami got a terrible illness, they found a cure at Drum. I don't think any crew member is willing to die due to their ambitions.
@Rogues':

Do you mean "badass by appearance" or "badass by combat skills"?
On topic, I kind of agree with everyone else that the only member I could see dying at the end is Luffy.
Maybe Usopp or Franky possibly, but who knows?
Also, we already have other threads for something like this.
Oda can't even kill the enemies.

That is a pretty badass pic.
If someone in the crew dies, it's gonna be either Luffy (at the end), or Robin…
Here's a lousy theory of mine.
Robin could get killed, and the WG would be all happy go lucky because FINALLY they killed last "Demon of Ohara", and no one will ever be able to read/decypher the poneglyphs to tell the world their secret. But, of course Luffy has the ability to "hear the voice of all things" just like Roger did. but they don't know..In the end the war will start because of the crew spreading the word of what they say, and they'll want revenge for Robin as well..
Considering her backstory, killing Robin off would just make things depressing in a depressing way. Wouldn't mind if Sanji sacrificed himself for her though.
Would. Not. Mind. At. All.

It'd make up for his fuck up in Enies Lobby.
But seriously, like I mentioned before Usopp seems like he'd be the best candidate besides Luffy. It'd even be the ultimate way to validate his dream. Brave warrior certified.
Sanji's screw up in Enies Lobby was saving Usopp and Nami from Jyabura, right?
Having Robin die by the hands of the WG would screw the whole emotion and greatness in the Enies Lobby arc,
where Luffy stated that he would protect Robin and he didn't care about the WG.
Lol Sanji's screw up was placing his chivalry over Robin's life. Normally it'd be fine if he wants to die by himself, but at the expense of others? He shouldn't have had the luxury of choice.
Nami's the same way about money and that gets the crew into dangerous situations (Eaten by a giant turtle). However she'd let go of money in a heartbeat for the sake of others (Caimie).
Saving Usopp and Nami? If anything thank luck first. Chopper just so happened to chuck a hot tub down there. Normally I don't mind the chivalry since it's used for gags, but that decision was all around inexcusable.
So what if Ussopp die protecting everyone of them from some strange looking beast and felt like his responsible of that mess?
One of my many One Piece ending theories: it is not necessarily one I'd like to see, but it is a pretty logical if I do say so myself.
! >Reach One Piece, everyone's dreams achieved
Time skip a few years
Luffy turns himself in as Roger did, either disbands the crew or they wish to follow him to the death
All Smile on the Execution Platform
One piece end :(
As for those who say Luffy's death by gear use:
For certain we know he's reduced his life-span by 10 years via Iva's hormones. As for gear's effects on life span no number has been given, however I would like to think he's found a way around it during the 2 year time skip, as you can see from pre-time skip when he uses second gear it is for extended amounts of time, but post-time skip he uses it in bursts, usually one attack then remove's gear's power. All in all I believe he's had at least 10-15 years taken off his life.

There will be no corrupt World Government like the current one to execute Luffy though… Kuzan will probably be in charge and an ally of the Straw Hats.

A pirate is a pirate though, I don't think they would just drop his bounty no matter who was in charge. Kuzan is already gone from the government, he resigned from the Marines. Like I said just a theory, not one I'm 100% behind, or hoping for, it's just plausible.

I know but I think he will come back and lead the new Marines at the end, if some form of Marines even exist that is.
I would be seriously surprised if the WG we know still exists at the very end of One Piece. So, execution of the SH is more or less off.
But i can see Luffy or Usopp going out with a bang during the final war. Would suit them both.
