'The Royal Wedding' - Your View?

Well as a lot of us know (or may not know) due to overhyped-ness, on the 29th, Prince William is marrying his girlfriend Kate Middleton.

I've noticed even a massive amount of stateside media attention so that leads me to ask the question to Arlong Park - what type are you? What are your views to this wedding?

Are you a "arrgh this is costing us money!!" are you a "there's a wedding?!?" type of guy, do you not believe in having a monarchy in such modern times? or are you interested? If so, why? Simply because you are a romantic? basically - What are your views to the day?

Hell, if you've bought something to commemorate the event go ahead and post it.

Well to be fair, that's not really an important part of it because there are many a UK Citizen who feels the same. There are plenty who share Nami's view of 'not caring less' - it's not a foreign-exclusive attitude.

It's just, I've seen a massive surge of interest from a lot of different countries, a lot of their media, and a lot of people I know from different parts around the world.

To be honest I'm looking for more indepth discussion - I mean it's fine if you don't care about it, but I want to pinpoint the fundamental motivations of and for the different attitudes people have.

My take on the Royal Wedding is this: Good for Britain! Ask the rest of US why we should care!!!

Sorry, but the British Royal Family stopped being relevant the moment they became fair game in paparazzi fodder. Sure, people can praise them for doing charity work around the world but I fail to see how that is any reason why they have to be our undisputed rulers in Canada or any other Commonwealth country! It's fucking stupid and pathetic! For crying out loud, OUR parliament in Canada isn't even ALLOWED to start procedures unless they have a big shiny stick that represents the Queen on the front table because Canadian law requires royal presence for any parliamentary procedures!

As far as I'm concerned, if the British public love the Royal Family, then it won't be until England has the English equivalent of the Bolshevik Revolution before the Royals become permanently deposed.

It's a big deal in Canada since our country still runs under the Queen, so we have many merchandise for sale and I'm sure the T.Vs in my school will be tuned into the wedding during lunch in the cafeteria, just as it was tuned into the Inauguration of Obama.

Ahh but you see my simian friend, us romantics who hold true to life's little noble values can appreciate not only the joining of two people, but understand the grand unity of it all that effects millions in a truly bizarre way. The wedding is another event that brings people from all corners of this planet hurtling through space and bind them together ever so briefly, regardless of the attraction or reasoning we are all momentarily on the same level.
