Does anybody have a clue? I have a feeling its going to be a lot longer. and isn't there supposed to be a new cover story soon? Does that mean the flashback will be over by then?

I hope it's not going to continue for long. As much as I enjoy seeing Tom, Franky & Ice my hearts weighs more for the current events on the W7 especially about the whereabouts & wellbeings of the Strawhats.
My feeling is that it's going to continue for another 2-3 chapters since we have yet to see how Franky became a cyborg and how Ice handed the blueprint to Franky. Then again, Oda might save that till later so that the next chapter may be the end of flashback.

i think this is by far the most interesting flashback since calgara-norland one.
this flashback is somewhat unique, we get a flashback of a potential crewmember that has "sinned" in the past. none of our other flashbacks involved personal "sin." we can see similarity in recent flashbacks: there is always a third party who screwed things up. like chopper, there's wapol. nami, there's arlong. norland-calgara, there's the king of lvneel. here we have spandam, also acting as the third party that screwed everyone up, but now we have franky, who was also involved in screwing things up. this is unlike the other flashbacks we have seen.
oh the guilt ^^

It does not matter to me how much longer it will take before the flashback ends, Oda really did an amazing job on this one so that the people are interested by the story in it and forget what was going on before this began.Usually i get bored with the flashbacks and stuff quickly, but this one, i wouldn't mind if it kept going on forever.

It should end next week or at the very latest the week after. I doubt Oda will drag this on for long than that, we've got business to take care of in the current timeline.

Never! One Piece will cycle on forever as one big flashback, until it catches up to the present, which will by then be the past, thus, the flashback never ends.

Well if you think this is long, I think the Norland's flashback was longer than the length now.. It spanned over almost one whole volume.

I've always loved flashbacks and I'm enjoying the quality break so I don't mind if it's goes on longer and wrapping it up quickly would feel a bit akward. I think two and half chapters would be perfect:
357- Death of Tom and Cutty Flam
358- Franky becoming a cyborg, setting of his new path and motivations, Square sisters
359- What has happened to the blueprints and an escort into the present status -
you know what… i doubt oda's going to reveal where the blueprints are actually hidden in the flashback. but i'd like to see what happened when franky visited iceburg 4 years ago.

i expect seom 3 ,4 more flashbak chapters. and after that the end of Franky
nah after that we'll finaly see where Zoro and Luffy landed

It seems to me like the current flashback is reaching its climax. The seatrain has been completed, Tom's character has been fleshed out, we understand the relationships between each of the key characters, and the next chapter has a 90% chance of ending Tom's life as well as Franky's based on what Tom last said. So I expect Tom to die, Franky to get messed up, and this current flashback to end on that climax.
The initial flashback was about Tom after all, after Lucci said he was a criminal and Franky telling him he didn't know a damn thing. We've seen why Lucci called Tom a criminal and told Franky he'd committed the same crime, we've learned about how Tom was involved in the history of Water 7 first hand, and now we've come to the inevitable day of his death as well as the day of Franky's accident. The flashback will probably end there, and we'll learn the other bits and pieces of the story that happened after that later on.
