When you pay with paypal in yen or whatever other currencies exept the one from your country, paypal take a small percent for the transaction, it's normal. If you pay by credit card, it will be the same result but you will loose even more money !
That's why before order, you need to go in your paypal account and search for the "currency converter" it will give you the paypal real rate currency and you can see the difference between the price in your cart and the real price you will pay !
I'm not sure you can pay in an other currency than yen at nippon yassan thought…nope, when i pay my orders on other websites i pay the amount that it shows previously on the store website and in the currency i choose so no it's a problem not normal at all!

Just tested paying for my POP Sadi-chan pre-order at NY. I placed order in GBP and although it was £73.88 with shipping at the time I placed my order, when I go to pay, it updates to the current GBP price of £74.10.
It is letting me pay in my currency, which is different to your problem Roro, but seems a bit odd that the price tracks with the current rate. No that I'm complaining though. I'll just pay when the price is lower. It also means that I can order Franky now and pay when rate is a little lower.

Yeah, I'd still like to hold out for 1Up, but I wouldn't mind having a backup just in case he can't get him in the end. All the international retailers seem to have him priced even higher than the Japanese ones and I don't want to have to pay any more than I need to.

He was never a member. Before Kolektakon he was introduced as "Sensui's proxy, Hiromi" to the users as an alternative service to other proxies. As for receiving help in auctioning off your items, please select 'other' in the subject field of the contact form and fill in the details of your request in the message field.

About Franky, i'm glad you got a back up of Franky, honestly NY is going to a wrong sense to me, i'm irate because they have nice price and they lower the package but they are so slow to ship and answer emails…

Part of me feels like he makes sense. Another doesn't. He didn't sell well at all the first time. They even had to discount him to get him to sell. But that was before FI. Where he became popular. But really, they managed to re-issue Hancock with a recolour. Why not do a SA Jinbe that is simply a recolour of him in his FI clothes. Would even get the Jinbe fans buying him again

I'd love a reissue of Jinbe, but he REALLY needs to be in his post-timeskip colors. That image is dated for three days ago, though–you'd think if a reissue of Jinbe was announced we'd have heard of it already?

I think this Jinbei may be a competition prize. Not sure if it's an official MH re-production or just from a company with old stock.

I'm always curious why people want so bad re-releases of old POP when we lack so bad figures like : the others supernova, Buggy, Magellan, Hanyaabaal, the rest of the CP9, Wiper ( omg, it would look so nice to have them with Kalifa and Lucci 1.5) and the list goes on…
Instead of that, we get an other Robin, a kung fu Chopper, an other whitebeard, an other blackbeard, an other Shanks, an other Trafalgar Law and i must be missing someone...So i really hope, they get to work on the really important stuff instead of re-releases exept Shanks who really needed it next to Beckman.
But knowing Megahouse, they will invade with version Z POPs, mugiwara crew, mugiwara neo, mugiwara v2, mugiwara Strong World, mugiwara Z.... They need to stop that at some point seriously or at least release the really needed one ones in the same time -

Rereleases, repaints and recolours are way easier and way cheaper to do than new characters. Plus when you see figures like WB selling at 18k yen in the second market, you know a rerelease is needed. The profit made on those figures don't go to MH or to the original sculptor, so it's understandable if MH decides stop that by rereleasing their product.
Also, there's always a high risk at failing/not selling well when you're doing not so popular characters. I can understand and don't mind why we have 4 versions of the SH and a couple of Law, Perona, Boa, Ace and Shanks. Those are the figures that sell well and allow MH to have some risk here and there like Arlong, Enel or Kid.
I would love to see new characters released too more often, but if by releasing Law and Shanks it means we will get new characters in the future like Vista, Shilliew or Shiki, I'm in.

Yeah, HobbySearch is the same, I think because of those 2 x 30cm sides, it'll be difficult to ship SAL small packet without custom packaging. He must be pretty solid to considering he's the same weight as Kuma, WB & Moria were and they are much bigger.

Still undecided on whether to pre-order this one. I think i'll wait and see how fast pre-order closes and whether HLJ/HS still have him up in 2 weeks time before deciding whether or not to order from GLS. He may hit bargain bin after release.
He is a re-release of sorts after all, we've had 2 shanks figures already, NEO & SE.

About those aforce customs, the factory's in china are starting to operate normal now after the chinese holidays, its been proccesed now, hopefully at the end of march they are ready.
I rather take the difficult level to make it work than taking the easy level and just cancel it and refund and call it a day :-x -

I disagree Second run are mostly epic fails and lower the value of the collection… Look at what hapened with smoker and tashigi, the market is full of them and nobody whant them ( i paid my smoker 200e before rerun)
The market is full of perona too, no one want her or they produced too many.
The rerun kill the market and stay in stock.. Having eome figures almost impossible to buy like carue or bellmer is what gives this collection some real value for this collection and make
it attractive

I have to both agree and disagree with you diloul. It's true that MH have their "Cash Cows". Re-releases, repaints and alternates of popular characters are just par for the course. If MH continually release "low profile characters" like Enel, Arlong, Kid, Killer, it wouldn't be long before retailers started lowering their order quantities which would impact on MH's bottom line and therefore their ability to invest in high quality products.
I get what your saying about Bellemere & Carue. I paid about 150e & 200e for my 2 respectively and it would be a blow if there were to be rereleased. Not because other people would be able to get them easily, but because I could have essentially saved myselft 250e if I had waited.
I don't blame MH though. Like it was said, they recieve no profit from these inflated prices, they only get the unit price they sell to the distributors for. It's the retailers making the big bucks. They don't care how much your collection is "worth", they just want a slice of the action.

You have to account for the size, weight and shipment cost when you're getting it unless you clearly don't care and just want the figure really bad (i.e. Franky) or it's a favourite or something.
Shanks has been in need of an updated POP for a while now. His Neo look is out of date and his SW POP was imo a random release that made no sense since he didn't even appear in that. I don't know if he'll hit bargain bin, but I won't be complaining if he does. -

So now that's Feb over, when do you think MH will grace us with images of Shanks? I expect we won't see anything until Monday at the earliest as per usual.
So far we have 2 alt. heads, 2 alt. right arms, a sword, (with the ability to sheath), a straw hat, (which can be held in his open hand), and obviously his cape:

Being the work of Ishiyama Yuuki who gave us Zoro, Usopp, Kid & Law, i'm expecting a bit more in terms of pose-ability. Perhaps a third head of young shanks (Ala Beckman), or maybe even another arm, although not sure what else you can really do with Shanks.Either way I'm really excited to see the official pictures next week :happy:

Hey mags, what a shame you didn't grab him from HS when they were having their 50% bargain sale. He was only 6,000 yen and was available for about 2 or 3 days.
Depending on who packages him, he's weighing in at between around 2.5 - 3kg, so you'll be looking at 4700 - 5400 yen for EMS shipping to the US.
I still passed as with those shipping prices it was't much cheaper than it would be to buy locally. HS were quoting me 6,200 yen to ship to Europe!! More than they were selling the figure for!!

I know what you mean Maggie. I'm trying to be really careful as well and EMS only items really hurt my wallet.
So far I've had to skip on POP Enel, Arlong, Kid, Killer and now Shiliew for that exact reason (although I suppose Killer is SAL-able from some places). As much as I'd love to add them all to my collection, even with a 50% price reduction those 5k shipping costs kill me every time.
Shame more local shops don't do these kinds of crazy discounts a couple of months after release.

Thanks 1upI'm with you man! At GLS you're guaranteed to get a competitive price without having to battle for pre-orders or having to wait months after the official release. In most cases 1Up gets his stock in before HS & HLJ and he's always quick to get final invoices out
