So Legend of Everfree recently leaked ahead of it's October 1st premiere on Netflix. (not linking the video since Hasbro will probably DMCA it in a heartbeat)
! Can we please stop trying to get Twilight in a relationship Hasbro? Please? It seems this happens ever movie. First Flash Sentry and now Timber Spruce? Lotta great facial expressions in this movie. Trixie made one that was just the best. The songs were good. Transformations were OK. Still like Daydream Shimmer and Midnight Sparkle better though. With the crystals giving them power, I wonder if they'll ever go over-the-top with new abilities. And a cliffhanger for a 5th movie.

The season finale 2 parter has leaked, incidentally.
And the unlikely team of heroes was
! Sunset, Trixie, that changling from earlier in the season, and… Discord!
it was fun in a change the pace sort of way… and it more elaborately setting up a plot thread for next season than usual.
Honestly, I really liked the season finale. A great change of pace, the characters played off each other well, and it was just fun to watch.
And with that, another season has come and passed us by. My thoughts on it:
! Honestly, for a while I was ready to just dismiss season this as the one where MLP finally lost all its luster and there was really no reason for it to exist. And, well…to an extent, I still kind of feel that way, but some of these episodes (especially the last few) really tried to salvage it.
! For the most part, the first half of the season was just a bust for me, with Saddle Row Review being the only real saving grace. And yes, it did have probably the best Spike episode, but even that wasn't great. Pretty much everything was really conventional and cliched and didn't have any real spark or flavor to it. And some of the friendship lessons were really weird and I wasn't even sure what they were trying to get across. And it had Applejack's Day Off, which, to me, felt like the definitive they've-completely-run-out-of-ideas episode.
! Then we got the second half of the season and it was...still kinda mediocre for me. Also, it had Spike singing, which he should never ever do again. But then we did have some pretty good episodes like Fault in Our Cutie Marks, Every Little Thing She Does, PPOV, and, of course, the finale.
! So, yeah, I guess this is still the weakest season for me so far, though it did have some redeeming episodes. Still, we didn't get anything as great as the 100th episode or the CMCs getting their cutie marks like in Season 5. But, regardless, we've got Season 7 coming up, so here's hoping it'll be good. But, honestly, I wouldn't complain if it turned out to be the last season.

Well I wouldn't say it was THAT good, but it was definitely much better written and more well-paced than the season 5 finale, especially with that twist at the end which sorta (but not entirely) makes up for that corny last ten minutes in, once again, the S5 finale IMO.

Good to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way. Heck, I wouldn't even mind them focusing on giving the fan-beloved BG characters some spotlight every now and then since it might be a good way to develop them beyond what the fans interpretes them, not to mention that this way if the staff wants to keep telling stories that teach the same morals like previous episodes, it would be from different prospectives

Didn't realized we have another season right now, cool. Watched the first two episodes. Well, I can't say I like the focus on Starlight and Trixie, but it's already season 7 so it's ok. Starlights potential power and her character still make me nervous and Trixie is just an ass.
Anyway, has anyone some info on the blue pony walking next to the Mayor in ep 1?
I still need to get caught up around season five or six.
Trixie is not an ass. Here's my thoughts on her from about a week ago:

Calling her "just an ass" is to misunderstand and undermine her entire character.
Attitudes like that towards people with social difficulty aren't really ideal.
I might take this more personally than I should, but it touches a nerve for me.
I had a lot of difficulties at school because of my Aspergers, and one of my teachers even held me back a year
because she claimed I was a "naughty child" that she believed she could straighten out.
But no, she just couldn't comprehend my behavioural ticks and assumed the worst in me. I hated her fucking guts.
I accidentally bumped into someone and knocked them over, we both apologized to each other and walked away,
but the teacher ran over and punished me for apparently ASSAULTING my classmate.
I got punched by a classmate once and I went to tell her, and she told me to "shut up and stop telling tales".
The only time I've ever run away from school was under her. I finally had enough and walked out. I made it all the way home.
My Mother dragged me straight back to school, and instead of asking me what was wrong or why I was so upset to be coming back,
the teacher instead banned me from the class toybox and wrote an angry face next to my name in the register.
So when I see someone that has gone through difficulty and genuine attempts to better themselves be labelled as JUST AN ASS…
It makes me fucking livid, because I can immediately put myself in Trixie's horse shoes and feel the same burning resentment as I did back then 
Maybe I should have phrased it better. Sorry. Can't see your video so I can't reply to that.
Thing is, for viewers her heroic deeds from last season were a long time ago. Now she is there in ep. 2 and act douchy and all over the place. I will never doubt her progression, but her behavior at the beginning of the second episode (egocentric, ignoring Starlight) made her look worse than the usual Great and Powerful Trixie, imo. That's why I used the word. Like, while watching, I wanted to chew her out long before the other ponies did it.

I'll re-quote the part relevant to this episode:
"She's just socially oblivious in certain respects. This is likely the result of never having many friends in her life
(she's never had to change the way she behaves for anyone else), so her regular habits and state of being may be
a little taxing to be around for a long period of time. Starlight found this out first hand, and learned that it was okay to speak up
and let Trixie know when she's overstepping the mark, which is all part of communication and the learning process."
So basically, I didn't see her as an ass. I saw her as oblivious. For me that's an important distinction.
The next several episodes have all aired somewhere (possibly Canada) so they're up online now well ahead of the US airdates. Youtube has em.

First things first:
Second, I just watched all 3 Equestria Girls specials in Polish with English subtitles. They'll be airing in June 24th, July 1st and July 8th on Discovery Family.
! Dance Magic: The song was great along with the music video of it. Glad they brought back the Shadowbolts. Just disappointed they didn't bring back Indigo Zap for the special. And Cadance is now the principal of Crystal Prep.
! Movie Magic: Introducing Juniper Montage who wants to be the next big film star. She sabotages the Daring Do film to try and get the lead role by having the actress who plays Daring Do (forgot her name) to quit. LOL at Rainbow Dash interrupting the filming process. Seems that the Human 7 use the crystals from Legend of Everfree to use their powers. Continuity.
! Mirror Magic: The last one. Juniper gets an enchanted mirror to send the Human 7 away into a realm inside the mirror. Sunset brings Starlight through the portal so she can experience the Human world. And Starlight ends up saving everyone. I know this has made people upset with Starlight being the one to save the day instead of Sunset. But I honestly enjoyed how it went. Yeah another cliche "quickly redeemed villain" again but I hope that Hasbro makes Equestria Girls it's own series and explore more with Juniper Montage and maybe (hopefully) bring back the Dazzlings. I miss them so much.

Time sure flies when you haven't seen as much of the show as I used to be. XD
Because of the production time needed, animated series are usually able to announce they're getting another season a year in advance, if not two.
Considering they have a movie coming out, of course there was going to be another season after.
Okay so I've been watching season 7 and it's actually pretty great. If you haven't watched in a while like me, I suggest getting back into it!

I was unsure of the style when the teaser came out, but this full trailer has certainly convinced me.
That's all I wanted to see, some full scenes of motion so I could properly judge the style.
Gotta say, it looks pretty damn slick. That rainboom was so cool.

same here. it almost feels like something disney had animated. and the crazy part is that is works.
I really like the animation. It's really neat to see MLP:FiM style MLP with such high quality animation. However, I'm not sure about everything else about the movie (sea ponies are cool, though).
ACK! HOW CAN I HAVE MISSED THIS?! FINA-FUCKING-LLY!
I don't see those sea ponies singing though. That is unacceptable.

I just saw it today. As a guy who has watched the show from beginning and still continues to watch the show, I thought the movie was…alright. Not bad, not great, just felt like an average episode of the show.
! The story's pretty basic in that Twilight and co. just have to fight another evil force that wants to take over the world. Twilight, of course, is pretty much given the main focus but even then I'm not sure she really goes through any sort of character arc. I'm not even sure there's a consistent theme in the movie, except maybe "Friendship is worthwhile." Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Applejack get some good moments, but unfortunately don't have a whole lot to do in the movie.
! And of course one of the big draws of this movie was that we get a whole slew of new characters and species we've never before, like the cat guy, the parrot people, and, of course, the sea ponies. And yeah, it's nice to see some new species in the Pony world, but, again, they aren't given a whole lot to do. Twilight and the others get to know them briefly and they just kinda go on their way and help out at the very end. The Storm King though I thought was a pretty entertaining villain, though, unfortunately, he doesn't get a lot of screen time.
! Oh, and the humor isn't that great either. There were a few moments that got giggles about me, but…yeah, pretty meh writing.
! The animation is easily the best part of the movie. Very vibrant and fluid, though something felt kind of off about the character models and the way they moved, but I guess that's kind of nitpicky.
! So yeah, if you're a fan of the show, you'll probably get a decent amount of entertainment out of it. But if you're on the fence about it and not sure if you want to see it, then, yeah, you can probably just wait for the DVD/Netflix.
