I swear, this episode was made by bronies.
! I mean, they actually live together like Epic Bass Time?

New "Friendship is Manly", this time it's the cafeteria in RR.
The JoJo is strong in this one. Poses and all.
Another Epiode 100 Teaser. And its awesome.
!
! I can't believe this is even real…
! ...though I will point out that at if you pause at 2:03 there is a shark on the ground. So they are literally jumping the shark.
Eh, they've been incorporating fandom mass accepted ideas and names since the end of season 1, its not really too shocking to see another thing like that turn up. And we know most of the big staffers have been to the cons and look at the fanart and stuff, so…
Now, if they have Dr. Hooves timetravelling, (and timetravel DOES exist in their universe!) or in a relationship with Derpy, THEN I'll be thrown for a loop.
But yes, they've pretty much stated this ep is their big shout out to the fandom thats made the show last this long and well.
It's like Scott Adams said about Catbert. "When a large number of your fans spontaneously and independently name a character for you, its probably a good idea to keep that character around."
what's catbert.
and wholey crap, that was weird. the clip.
well, no, actually that man pony thing was pretty wierd too. wth
I'm not watching any more clips, (Including the pwn3 one) it feels like they've given away most of the episode already. I know 100 is a big deal and all, but… its only 22 minutes guys.
what's catbert.
A character from the comic strip Dilbert. He showed up for a week, the author gave him no name, an d the fans all named him based on another character, Dogbert.
Sure, it mighta been the obvious choice, but everyone picked and agreed on it, so…
Holy shit. Best Episode. Way too much to mention but damn.
! I love how they used both names for Bon Bon / Sweetie Drops
Holy shit. Best Episode. Way too much to mention but damn.
I definitely agree! Probably the best episode of this season so far! You can definitely tell that this episode was a gigantic tribute to the fandom! :D
! I even loved the speech that the mayor gave at the end. Btw, seeing Derpy slamming the door on the main six was fucking hilarious! XD
Fantastic episode
! Didn't expect Doctor Whooves to be so prevalent, but I'm not complaining (No TARDIS though. Aww)

! we arguably got the TARDIS interior
Well that was really fun to watch. Though I will admit I'm glad it's just one episode. Don't think I could handle that on a regular basis.
According to the credits, Derpy's name was Muffins
! Is it just me, or were they constantly slipping more hints under the radar at romantic feelings between Lyra and Bon Bon?
It started with the piano in RR, and in this episode it felt like there was a lot of half lidded eyes and implied intimacy. XD
! I love everyone's voices btw, hope they're permanent.
I also like the quirks added to everyone that add to their character and don't take away from established fanon.

Cast list. All of the mane six voice actors (except Tara Strong) voiced at least one background pony, so if they sounded familiar, well there you go.
! Does anyone else think the Bugbear looks like a fusion of Beedrill and Pangoro?
!
Yeah, that was great.
I know I said I'd be happy if they did any of the Derpy/Doctor Whooves stuff. And holy crap did they do way more than I expected.
Also. Bob Bon. Whut.
At least they didn't turned Lyra into a Humamaniac.

What is this word you use… "Man?"
I gotta see it soon, I missed it today due to work….

Random thought: Both here and EQG2 Vinyl appears but never says anything. Going along with a theory I once saw I ask this:
Do you think Vinyl Scratch is mute, or does she simply choose not to speak, or something else entirely.
Personal opinion: They couldn't find someone who could do the Vinyl voice the fandom has come to expect of the character so they went with the lesser of 2 evils and just kept her silent.
Come to think of it, how cool would it be if The Doctor actually did go bowling with the Lebowski gang.
Personal opinion: They couldn't find someone who could do the Vinyl voice the fandom has come to expect of the character so they went with the lesser of 2 evils and just kept her silent.
I'm sure that's the real reason, but where's the fun in that?
I actually have the head canon that Vinyl is mute. Literally cannot speak.
The whole VA dilemma just helps set it in stone.
Just like how Scootaloo's wing problem hasn't stopped her being awesome in her own way, I think it would be cool if Vinyl was doing something similar.
Unable to speak, so she does it through her tunes. Octavia is touched / inspired by this side of her, which is part of why they're so close.
At least, that's what I want and believe.
Anyways, mini pmv time again.
Struggled to think of a song that could encompass everyone's plotline, but then I went for something more general and had a much easier time.
So what was with the random changeling near the end of the episode?
I think they needed to put for the heck of it.
Most important: Where is Discord?
Most important: Where is Discord?
Probably responsible for that frame of live action during that fast edited sequence.
This is how I interpreted the Changeling's presence:
Changelings aren't some volatile force of evil, they can be civilized creatures and they're actually free to visit wherever they please (just like Griffons).
It's not like they have to stay cooped in their own kingdom.
I feel like the show is telling us that the Chrysalis thing was a one-off scenario with a power mad bitch in control of some pawns.
For all we know, the majority of the changelings are mild mannered and capable of self restraint, which is why this one could befriend Cranky and be invited.
It gives great potential for both the changeling race and their role in the whole show. Maybe this even foreshadows some bonding with them for a map episode?
Random Changeling was added cause fandom loves changelings.
That and apparently Cranky apparently got around with random adventures.
Actually, Larson has very recently said on Twitter that the changeling is a friend of Matilda's.
The best fan love-letter ever.
I don't know if I can choose a favorite part.
The moment that made me give it 5/5 in my reaction video was the Vinyl/Octavia scenes.
I wonder if their mode of transport should be called the WubMobile or the Bass Buggy.
Season 5 is turning out better with each episode, all of them have been consistently great! What a way to have our 100th episode….kinda surreal if you think about it. I remember when the thread was first started, and everyone was getting in despite their reluctance.
So yeah, great episode. No, that is an understatement.
You got Octavia and Vinyl Scratch rocking out, Gummy being all deep and philosophical, the Mayor being meta, Dr. Whooves bowling shenanigans, Derpy being adorable as usual, Bon Bon the secret agent (yeah, Bon BonXLyra is now my OTP), and Steven Magnet, the dragon from the beginning of the first season, being the best bro ever.
Top it off with Cranky and Matilda getting married…..11/10 <3
@MDL:
Actually, Larson has very recently said on Twitter that the changeling is a friend of Matilda's.
And now Larson is saying the changeling was actually Discord. In his true form.
Since the changeling was sitting along with the foals, I wonder if there will be any fans deciding it was the adopted child of some side character. Maybe Matilda herself, since she may now be too old to bear children of her own.

M.A. Larson talks about behind the scenes stuff for Episode 100, including cut scenes and lines, other interesting facts and references, etc…
There was supposed to be a Flash Sentry scene!? Dammit!
I thought most of the fandom hated Flash Sentry.
Why? What's so wrong with Flash Sentry?
Must be because Twilight is a waifu or something.
I liked Flash Sentry.

First trailer for Equestria Girls: Friendship Games.

Wow, just wow…
Overzealous transgender activist grabs the wrong end of the stick and grabs it HARD.
This was how they reacted to Flutterguy in Filli Vanilli.
Poor Amy :(
Yikes how many tweets did this person….scrolls down and down okay that's a lot.
[hide]also I'm confused, I thought one can't say "queer" these days because it's considered a slur? and one can't be agender and transgender, right….?[/hide]
Wow. Talk about taking one joke way out of proportion.
Filli Vanilli? Again?
Back when that episode aired for the first time she got a lot of insults and death threats over Pinkie causing Fluttershy cry.
Most of the people who get mad over Fluttershy crying are hypocrites anyways, since they conveniently forgot putting your hoof down.
In Filli Vanilli, Pinkie didn't even mean to make Fluttershy cry,
but in PYHD Fluttershy quite deliberately insulted Pinkie & Rarity (and their lifestyles) to the point of crying.
If anything, Pinkie got even (in a karmic sense).
Really liked today's episode, which is good considering the last two were kinda meh for me (Well, last week's one was fairly good. The Spike one was the worst of the season so far for me, though it really never stood a chance, having to follow Episode 100.)
Anywho, some thoughts on today's episode:
! The entire premise of a story based on the first five minutes of the pilot episode is awesome, because you can't have a throwback any further than that. That and of course seeing more background ponies have a little time at the forefront. Plus we actually now have a canon explanation for these characters being in the background in Ponyville. I liked Moondancer's design, which is really just a Twilight recolor, but that really drove home the point that she represented what Twilight could have become had she not discovered friendship.
! A lot of teases in this episode. Thought for a minute Lyra might actually appear again in a speaking role so soon after 100, but I'll take the established continuity of her living in Ponyville. And then of course there's the dinner scene… in the corner... total trolling by the animators there (or not if it turns out that was actually plot foreshadowing... o_O).
