Plot Summary: Sternbild City is home to people called "Next," who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire "hero points." Their activities are documented on the popular program "Hero TV," which picks the "King of Heroes" in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he's been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.

Why would you make a thread about this if not to just laugh at its utter waste of budget and poor storyline?

I would honestly sit through a lucky star marathon then watch another episode….and I hate lucky star!

Cheesy one liners, boring build-ups, predictable scenarios, uninteresting conclusions, mediocre characters, non existent plot,' watching paint dry' level of humour. And lastly the fact it is just so absurdly unoriginal.

I'll have to agree with Smudge that beyond the amazing production quality, it's kind of boring and bland. It also felt pretty condescending, like a 30 minute continuous commercial due to the ridiculous product placement. It's definitely not The Running Man The Anime.

I did laugh at that whole scene of "CUT TO A COMMERCIAL!" and Hulu actually does, hahaha.

Not gonna follow this, but I'll keep tabs because I do sympathize for that Wild Tiger guy. Also, his daughter looks like Ami/Mami Futami.

I'm reminded of Godwin's Law which is basically the idea that when two people have an argument and one person can't think of anything more clever they say the other supports Hitler. Among Anime/Manga fans (with half a braincell) there's Kubo's Law which is when someone can't think of anything more clever in an argument they say that the other likes Bleach.

And I don't watch this anime but I would imagine that the flaws you mentioned have to do with it being a parody of superhero fiction. Of course I don't watch it but that's my two cents.

I think it's corny, but I like it because I like superheroes and this is an interesting (to me, at least) take on them.

Seriously, calling someone worse than Hitler because they criticized you for making an assumption that wasn't at all correct. Yeah, not agreeing with your opinion is definitely worse than causing genocide and attempted world domination. And he isn't anyone's alt. I know Kareem in real life, this is his first account on this forum. But I suppose someone like you can't figure out how to do anything without making an insult to person who disagrees with you. Some of your points were valid, although I feel that's mostly since the show has barely started and things like characters and plot are going to be developed more as it goes on, and some I feel are a matter of taste.

Also, I find it funny you throw out insults like yout edit when they don't even make sense. From what I've seen of phenom, he acted NOTHING like Kareem. You're basically just picking an infamous name on the forum and trying to use it as an insult without even knowing what you're talking about

I think that's what his sponsors want him to do. Appear in the background as often as possible. They're not as much about the "points" thing as they are about flooding the market with advertising.

That aerial battle between Bunny and Lunatic was orgasmic, and reminiscent of Karas. Hell yeah.
Lunatic's character is great too, did a very good job of its fanatic psychotic characterization.
And to add more frosting on this cake, chemistry between Tiger and Rose?

Finally got around to this series. Love it.

The heroes having sponsors is a good way to make them imperfect. I like Lunatic but I want to see a good hero saving people without a sponsor. That will make Pepsi look bad so it won't happen.

Speaking of Pepsi, Blue Rose being underage was a shock! I feel dirty every time I see her in costume now. Thumbs up for Whisper Guy, my favorite character so far followed by Sky High.

Not sure how long the series will last but we better get a Heroes VS Super Villain Team battle.

Awesome series. Finished episode one. The premise itself isn't all that original, but the concept itself is pretty damned fun and fresh compared to many anime. Hopefully it keeps my interests.

It's really refreshing to have a protagonist who's an older character in a mentor role with a daughter and everything.

This series has the most likable cast I've seen in a long while. But yeah, Tiger is a great protagonist. He's so cool that his coolness collapses into itself and everyone hates him.

I'm pretty sure he keeps his identity a secret because of his wife.

And does anyone else think that the Mayor is Mr. Legend? He's the only one who paid respect to Tiger, which I thought was interesting. And he's always cares more about how the heroes conduct themselves.

Look at his hair… it can't be coincidence right? He's totally gonna do something at the end of this series.
