Otohime is kind of great. She slaps the guy vigorously and then starts crying for his misery. Very compassionate, I like it.
Jinbe's view concerning the slaves is just as right as Otohime's, though. I understand his frustration with humans. Looking forward to seeing what event changed his heart. -

How is Arlong only 5 years younger than Jinbei? That would mean he was 39 when Luffy beat him and he is a lot older than Hatchi. That makes his strength downright pathetic. So he was a teenager taking Chuu, Kurobi, and Hatchi on a field trip to SA?

Well, if you don't do really anything for 10 years except opress villagers that don't fight back, then there's not much room for growth.

Im going to read this chapter about 5 times before daring to utter a single thing my brain isnt functionning properly anymore
Let me atleast say this: Chapter was the bomb :wub:!!!!Otohime samaaa W,and Jinbei damn scary at the end and that last panel damn it they are so cool. So many new facts the speculations are going to be great this week. The boys are so cute on the cover,all grown upedit: The pace is really fast indeed I wonder what's coming

The flashback does seem a bit fast, but it's a good showcase of Otohime's character. The fact that we know all her hard work is ultimately futile is a downer, but that finger thing she did with her sons is really sweet. But even as a baby, Shirahoshi was already bigger than her…I wonder how the birth process goes? And this means that Shirahoshi to be 18 at most right now, making VDD even more a creep as a pedo. I do love how despite the flashback is rather dark in nature, Oda manages to slip in some jokes. Otohime's "you have to have snots coming out from both nostrils" and Jinbei's deadpan "Not scum? Garbage, then?" makes me chuckle.
Oh, and I really, really want Tiger's T-shirt. It's funny and cool at the same time, it's the full stop at the end that sold it for me. I totally saw the hippo first, too...

That was a very nice chapter indeed. Otohime is quite interesting and tries very hard. It's nice to see Arlong's age and the Fishman Pirates as a whole look incredibly fearsome. We're just beginning though, and we'll see what the Fishman Pirates will be trying to accomplish and how Otohime will try to deal with it. Also, it'll be quite interesting to see how Vander Decken comes in on all of this.

And I think that this time there really was A LOT in the chapter. perhaps too much. Oda didn't really tell the flashback in pictures but in text blocks. You know what I mean? Otohime's character was developed very well in pages but the whole Sun pirates thing was more telled in textblogs than pages…
This could mean there is A LOT more to come which is more important. Or it's just a quick flashback and we get a more detailed one later. Other than Macro who I wasnt all to hyped to see (minor sidekick), he might have a part to play.I'd like to start a discussion here: How do you think this is all going to develop in the next chapter?
We have seen the queen and old faces, how the Sun Pirates were formed (Short version) and as they begin to roam the seas.I have a guess that Macro is going to be playing a part in the assassination, although not directly. Rather indirectly in the form that someone who wants her dead gets the lead from Macro that will result in her death.
I think the next chapter will develop Queen Otohime, because:

We see Hachi inform them that there is trouble on the horizon as we then cut back another year. Which might mean they wont be facing any real important event from their side as of yet.Either Tigers piracy roaming / Exploration
