I've been a member of Arlong Park Forums for 3 months. I've made many new friends. I've learned more about One Piece than I have ever imagined. I've shared cosplays. I've shared stories. I've shared opinions. I've even shared sorrows. APF should feel like home to me…but it doesn't. I don't feel like I fit in because I've only seen the horrible 4Kids dub. I can't download any subs of the anime. I can't order any good "non-bootleg" DVDs of the anime. I do have the manga, but I am a slow reader. I am currently still reading the Little Island arc. Now that 4Kids has skipped that arc completely and gotten ahead of me, I can no longer make comaprisons like everyone else does. Half of the things said on this forum I don't understand because I have never seen well over 3/4 of the entire One Piece series! That is why I feel like I should leave. Yet, I don't want to. I'd be leaving so many friends behind. I don't know what to do. Should I leave or should I stay?
I don't want to leave APF…but it may be the best thing to do.

Well, the first thing that jumps out at me in your post is that you say you don't want to leave. That should answer your dilemma for you. =) I don't want you to leave either. You've been a good contributor to this board, and I don't think anyone holds any grudge against you simply because you aren't able to watch the Japanese version. I can understand your frustration with that matter, but you're not the only one, there are in fact other people on this forum who are in the same situation as you. Have you been feeling that other people are giving you a hard time about it?

Sorta…yeah. Yesterday, I tried to correct somebody by saying that Arlong never says "human", he always says "PU-man". But then they said that I've been "watching that rot of a dub too much". Now I know that Arlong doesn't say "PU-man" in the Japanese.

If you download and read the manga, stick by that. It'll be the most accurate thing you can get your hands on.

I am uncertain. It might work. But taboo is talking to me in PM about possibly sending me the entire subbed Arlong arc through the mail. ^_^

The dub, in and of itself, is a shell of One Piece. The Viz translations are excellent, but very slow. Without K-F, that leaves the online scanlations... Which are still good enough, I think.
Little Garden's a fun arc. Take your time, enjoy it, and ease into the story at your leisure.
If you ever want to talk about the arc you're in, or ask a question, just PM me for an AIM or MSN address and I'll be on as soon as I can.
It'd be a damn shame to lose you... But, ultimately, it's your decision.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I got them to play on the computers in the library (even though those computers SUCK). :3 I usually burn the VCL player also, just because it plays the files without needing a codec.

It's ok. I know you didn't hurt my feelings on purpose. I forgive you. I'm really starting to feel better about all this. Seeing now how much people care, and also because of the new deal that I'm making with taboo. I think I've decided to stay.=)

I'm doing a lot of episode burning for people myself, otherwise I'd offer too. ^^;That' s a good idea to send along VLC player. That player seems to solve a lot of problems. If you still can't play episodes after that, I can't even imagine what the problem with the computer might be. :wacko:

There's also "General Discussion" and such where you can write in.

You'll catch up eventually. Try downloading the manga or go to MSN (but MSN can be a little wonky at times).

I only read the manga cause I can't download the torrent either (I tried and it didn't work and even screwed up my computer a little). Heck, I even read online. Just take your time and read, trust us, it's gets more exciting along the way. Don't leave…. clings onto you and won't let go. Plus you don't need to always get into discussions about the latest chapter, you can still go to the general threads and such (they are fun too).

I'd have never guessed you were a dub viewer. Your discourse is as quality as anyone else's here.
I'm sure the person who called you on the PU-man thing merely had good intentions.
It's not a race to get to the finish first. Somewhere, someone's reading chapter 1 and thinking "Man, that kid in the Anchor shirt is a real annoying twerp"
I've probably seen less of OP than you. (Dub from the end of Baratie to the present, manga to volume 7). It doesn't prevent me from speculating, interpreting, piecing together a world view from spoilers and comments.
