A seeming mismatch of a whole bunch of random anime characters thrown together into an RPG, seeming taking its cues from the PS3 game Cross Edge? (which also combined seemingly random game characters… Marvel vs. Capcom or Smash Bros at least had a THEME...)

Oh cool! Orphen, S-Cry-Ed, Slayers, and Rune Soldier Louie! I hope they can get Jing the bandit in there as well…..not that I would ever be able to play it since there's no chance of it getting localized when hardly anyone really knows a good bit of those anime.

Yeah, there's no chance of this getting localized. Most of those animes were localized over here by different companies and a few of those are even defunct now I think. That is something that always sucks about those crossover games in Japan, sadly American companies aren't as friendly with sharing.

edit:** Now that the initial rush is over, I got a good look at the other properties… it looks like Banpre is trying to do another suparobo-type game, only with adventure series this time instead of mecha anime.

The series selection isn't entirely random, though. A bunch of them have similar sources.

Slayers, Orphen and Louie are all from Dragon Magazine, and are also some of the most popular series to come from it.

Scryed, Mai-Hime and the Keroro anime are all done by Sunrise.

I guess they find areas to license from and then work from there.

…mmyeaahhh I kinda want to see some gameplay footage first (The few seconds of Gourry doesn't count).

Didn't think Sune Soldier and Orphen were popular, they always struck me as shelf filler ADV acquired cus they had to get something. But Slayers, ROD, Mai Hime and freakin Keroro…I'm listening.
