To be honest, I don't know what to think of this. I mean, Marvel isn't that good when it comes to "mega-mutli-title-crossovers" (Onslaught, Maximum Security…), but still, Bendis is in charge of everything, so it might turn out good. I hope. Marvel really doesn't need another Onslaught, and it certainly doesn't need the kind of mess that DC left after all the Zero Hour/Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline. And regarding that, Bendis' words somehow don't sound very comforting. Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
House of M
Well, the first time I saw this was today, at the Memorabilia expo in Birmingham. Coincidence you should post something like this the exact same day, lol
I'm not really into Marvel comics, just Spiderman.
I've never really read any major Marvel crossovers. At this moment in time I'm not really interested in it. However based on the fact various changes will be made to the Marvel world as a result, personally I don't want to have the public know Peter Parker is Spider-Man (if I'm correct they know in HoM). I am aware a large number of heroes and villains know and frankly I feel it's better if it stays like that. Storyline wise, Peter has enough to worry about without JJ and villains attacking him and his family all the time. Also I don't want to see Gwen Stacy revived. While I never really read any storylines with her, Peter is doing fine with MJ and it should stay like that IMO.
I stopped reading comics because of House of M. It just doesn't interest me at all, and I hate change. Apparently, a bunch of mutants are going to lose their powers and there's only going to be a select few who still have theirs. Which is just stupid and boring. I'll be continuing to read Cable & Deadpool, New X-Men, and New Thunderbolts after House of M (and I want to read the new X-Factor series), but as of now I'm really turned off by the idea that some of my favorite B and C-list characters could lose their powers just because Marvel wants more people to read all the different books.
First off I haven't heard anything about people losing their powers and I can't see that happening given how the series is running.
Second it isn't really a crossover so much as it is a miniseries. All the current marvel titles are still going in the normal universe like they have always been. They just have several miniseries running and you don't have to read them all to enjoy the series. You can just stick to the actual House of M series. You don't have to read Spiderman, Iron Man, Fantastic Four etc, etc…
I have been keeping up with it from the beginning and I was skeptical, but damn it is awesome. It has been one of the best reads of the summer. My favorite part is when Mystique get's her memory back of what the world should be like and she realizes that in this world she has been shacking up with Wolverine and she is just like "no... Oh god no" and then she slaps him. That was great. Also I am a Wolverine fanboy and the whole miniseries has been centering around him
Also it has been really cool seeing Hawkeye in this series, I really missed him after they killed him and it is interesting seeing him deal with the knowledge that to save the world means he should be dead.
