Is there really no topic for this? There have been lots of mentions in other topics, but since the anime has recently started and all, figured there has to be an official Sket topic too.

I've been reading it for a long time and enjoyed it a lot. Basically about a group of people who help others in their high school, no matter what the problem is. Lots of weird humor, quirky situations and even some very sad parts (not kidding here!) There's not really any discrimination here, I recommend Sket to ALL.

For a while I thought it isn't really popular, since scanlations tend to come a bit slow and irregular, but lately Sket is fairly high placed on the SJ! polls.

Also been watching the new anime, which so far is a fairly faithful adaptation. Granted, it's been a while since I read those early chapters, suppose I gotta read 'em again at some point.

I just finished reading the crossover with Gintama. They sure wasted no time in tearing down the fourth wall.

That was actually more enjoyable than the other crossovers so far. Just the mix of breaking the 4th wall and other humor did a really good job.

Ha all that fourth wall breaking was crazy hilarious. The new proper chapter that came out was pretty hilarious too especially the ending.

If you like manga with godly awesome flashbacks, Sket Dance will not disappoint you.

To be honest, the manga has the the biggest quality inconsistency in Jump.
It will jump from downright retarded to godly awesome and back and forth.

The feel of it is almost exactly Gintama, so you can use that a measuring stick to judge if it's for you or not.
The "serious" chapters in this manga are some of the BEST chapters to grace Jump in years though.
So I would recommend sticking with it.

The anime adaption has been really good so far.
Like Gintama, I actually think the anime is better in quite a few respects.

This manga is awesome. The flashbacks of the trio are some of the best I have ever read in any form of entertainment medium.

I love the hell out of this series. At times hilarious beyond belief, and at times super-serious and heart-wrenching. Similar to Gintama in many regards.

But yeah, it is a gag manga. Very few real "battles", though I want to see Bossun go head-to-head with the Student Council president again.

But yeah, this really is an absolutely fantastic series and I love it to the core. The first flashback tore at my heartstrings…well they all have but the first took me completely off guard.

I wonder how they're gonna pull off the surprise in the anime, now that we know the voices.
They may use a different voice actor since… you know, technically his voice is synthesized.

! I suppose as they are brothers, the voices might be able to taken as just similar due to them being family…yeah as his voice isn't technically his own we might be fine.
! I hope they don't spoil it, or else the flashback loses all of its power

I'm watching the anime. This series is gold, funny as hell. Switch is my favorite of the trio.

I probably won't read the manga until this season comes to a close.

I finally started this show. I'm reading the anime and will prob read the manga is the anime doesnt continue.
But srsly this show is awesome. All three of the characters are cool as hell. Onihime and Bossu are my favs <3

I've been following the anime for the time being, and though it relies a bit much on ''loud = funny'' pitfall that many Shonen fall into, I've been having fun so far.

Watched the fourth episode. Wasnt as good plotwise as 3rd but still a really good episode. The filter scenes were too funny!
Questions for the manga readers… did this episode cover two chapters or one? Cuase it seemed like two. Second, who is Bossu hugging in the ED song? Are him and Onihime love interests (cause I'm already getting hints and wouldnt be suprised)

Yeah it was two chapters. And it's been hinted at that they'll get together someday and you know what, it's not even a big deal. This series is so fantastically grounded that relationships like that aren't so much as wow awesome X3 as much as pretty neat but I saw it coming^_^

I love Bossun (aka Noob Hunter Lol) complaining that he was expecting the strongest warriors in the kingdom, but got a bunch on low-level noobs instead. Like in pretty much every RPG in history.

I would totally play an RPG which lets you have a magician, a slime and a farmer in your party.

Well, usually they have mage instead of Magician, but you can use a slime as a party member in Dragon Quest, like in V. Chapter was quite funny, making fun of one of the first and most vital part of an RPG, choosing your job. I hope they won't stop it there and actually have them adventuring and fighting.

Btw, the newest anime episode just aired today too, and it's pretty good, combining chapter 3 and chapter 32. I'm really impressed by the adaptation, after a crappy first ep they have really picked it up. Kinda shouty at times, but the pacing is perfect so far with 2chap/episode, the music placement is quite good and the animation isn't that bad for a Jump adaptation. Thanks to the loose continuity the reshuffling of chapters work well, and some original jokes they put in can be pretty funny and in tone with the series. I recommend it if any manga readers want to see one of their favorite chapters animated.

I loved the new episode!!! Seems like the beef with the School Council is about to begin! But I really like the Prez's character design ;), I hope he's not an asshole… lol
But the Vice Prez seems like he'd be annoying somewhat, then when he introduced himself as "Sasuke" I just laughed lol. :P Its almost as if it was intentional lol
