i font think anybody will miss the dub cast, will they? i saw a few episodes and did not like luffys voice at all. japanese is the only language for OP!
One Piece: Musou/Pirate Warriors - PS3
-
-
No, more language options are better, but not a problem if there's no dub.
-
So the game is coming in september? thats not good for me, It will fight for my budget against Pokemon White 2 :S
-
It's better for it to release in September or else it will probably compete with many AAA games coming out close to November like Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4, Black Ops 2, and Hitman. So the game would most likely get better sales releasing in September than November.

I love the Dub, but I'll take a game with subs over no game at all.
-
Somehow the subtitles look a little bit odd.
-
Maybe it's because you played the jap. version first.
It looks normal to me. -
@Zek:

Same but,the biggest disappointment of this is honestly the digital only thing.
Oh well, imported product here I come.
-
Just so everyone know apparantly they are not selling the collector's edition to the UK, anyone have any idea which country will have what language? Or all region have same language might order from France's amazon:
CEdotORG
One Piece: Pirate Warriors CE (PS3) announced by @namcobandai, but apparently not for the UK: http://t.co/V7FQF8FI @NamcoBandaiUK #OnePiece
NamcoBandaiUK @socialanimeguy @SnowHawk88 as it currently stands the One Piece PW collectors edition is not coming to the UK. -
I sure hope if they have a booth at comicon that someone poses the question of "how much space will it take to download?"
-
So is it possible to import an english collector's edition? Or is it only in italian?
-
lol so the UK isn't getting that now? Guess I'll cancel my Pre-Order. Was only getting it again for the Sunny since the game was gonna work out about £10 more than the figure. Which is about as much as I'd pay for it.
-
allow i kind of wanted that sunny figure. Well whatever i guess it will make the game cheaper
-
The physical UK release is up for preorder for roughly $40 with shipping. The US PSN release won't be cheaper than that (probably $10 more) so might as well. Zavvi doesn't charge till the game ships.

-
Yeah….the subbing looks way off. Would be much better dubbed, however, that's too expensive and time consuming to do.
-
I'm not sure if this was mention here but I'll post a link for it. Apparently the game is coming out sooner than what the discussion title says (For the US).

Anyone? Is Italy's Collector Edition only in italian?

What game are you talking about? Not OP Musou. It's only playable at best. Nowhere near Awesome, and certainly not Fucking Awesome.
Assuming they ditch the adventure levels in the sequels, and grow the roster in proportion to other Musou franchises, it should be pretty good by part 3 though.

Talkin' About the 3D game, One Piece: Pirate Warriors x.x
-
Reading Robby's comments- someone who knows what he's talking about- I'm starting to rethink my planned purchase of the European version. I did the same back then with Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi and spent 60€ for a game that was utter crap and doing it again now by spending 80€ for the special box becomes less and less compelling.
-
Its not a bad game. It's justn not great. It just feels half assed and not enough content for what you pay for. (game can take forever to finish but it's just bleh)
-
Yeah. In the end it's just grinding to get all coins.
It's fun to play but I am honest here with the people: I've never touched the game after I've platinum'd it.The replay value is kind of low. For example I don't see any sense to level up all other playable characters.
For One Piece and Musou fans it's probably a nice game, since all/most previous OP games were average at best.Don't regret that I imported it though. I guess what I am trying to say is that you shouldn't get too hyped.
-
it depends on your preference. do you enjoy musou games or not? if yes then this is a good game for you, if not or you never play musou games before, you might want to wait till it gets cheaper.
i played dynasty warriors and enjoyed it so im gonna buy this game. the first generation of a musou game always lack of playable chars anyway so this game is still acceptable as a musou game. the first samurai warriors only got like ten playable char as well.
-
I have clocked THOUSANDS of hours on Musou games over the years. My Gundam 3 file alone has nearly 100 hours in it, and I'm not even a big Gundam fan. My Sengoku Basara 3 Utage file has 80 hours on it, and thats after clocking nearly 100 hours on the first version of the game. Same with Gundam 2, and EVERY game in the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series since 3, including all the side games like Empires and Xtreme. Long after having done all the missions and trophies, I'll keep playing a Musou game just to enjoy the characters I like or to work up weapons and stats or to take on favorite levels again. (And playing with one of my friends.)
Dynasty Warriors 7, which I hated, I still clocked nearly 50 hours into and TRIED to do everything before giving up on it.
The One Piece game? barely cracked 20 hours. Haven't even bothered getting all the trophies for the platinum, and its an EASY platinum. I unlocked all the characters, played through all their stories, leveled them up to get all their moves. And… I was incredibly bored.
With only 14 playable characters (and several of them feeling extremely unfinished), and only a handful of stages that repeat endlessly ... and unbearable adventure stages that you never replay at all because only Luffy can do them and because they're like playing were-hog in Sonic Unleashed (The drum stage you have to go at minimum speed and without attacking most of the level because you're carrying Nami.... and its a LONG level. And the rides in the water 7 stage take like half an hour to do as you loop around the same areas a dozen times to hit different triggers) .... its just... eh. Very mediocre game.
Even repeating stages shouldn't be a huge thing, since there's always THAT level in a Musou game you'll play hundreds of times because it has better powerups or money or weapon drops than any other stage, so there's always one stage that gets played a lot more than the others... but in OP you'll end up spending 70% of your time in Sabondy cursing gates that won't open in time to save an ally, not because its the best level to get stuff in... but because it and Enies Lobby are practically the only levels. The only ones with ANY difficulty on them, (By merit of being the 6th or 7th level in a chain) and ANY reasonable item drops (And those are completely random!). And even if they weren't, there's only a couple other stages anyway.
(Also, it doesn't help that the stages are designed for Luffy's adventure mode so there's shortcuts and design elements in them... that can't be used by anyone else.)
I'm a huge OP fan. And a huge Musou fan. The second the game was announced I assumed I'd be clocking at least 80-100 hours into it, easy, no matter the problems it might have or how small the character roster, so it justified the import price. But... no. Its just... meh. (And Basara Utage is a japense untranslated import as well, so its not just the japanese menus that are the problem.)
Even Gundam 3 which also only had a handful of levels, and characters and stories I know nothing about... had a crazy amount of story levels and variations on those same handful of levels, and it had some 80 mechs (yes, many of them sucked. But many didn't.) and great customization and things to do that kept it fresh and coming back for more. OP Musou? Not so much. A couple of the characters and their abilities are near useless, while a couple are incredibly broken.
They did really good in capturing the look of OP. The character all have their signature attacks and it LOOKS great. And its musou gameplay, so fighting the way they do is okay. But when its so unbalanced, when the roster is so small, and within that roster half the characters are bleh to play? (Chopper and Nami are pretty worthless, Franky's Cola system is a huge handicap, Brook feels interesting but isn't effective, and Jinbe is flashy but exceedingly slow. Usopp is actually really good, but sogeking mode is so brief and costly and buried that its near worthless... ditto for Luffy's Gear 2 and 3. Ace is super flashy and Whitebeard is so incredibly broken you feel guilty using him. )
These problems will naturally fix themselves in sequels. Characters will get more moves and balance tweaks (timeskip moves especially will help this) , levels will be added, (hopefully no more adventure levels), and the roster will expand significantly, probably by another 12-18 characters... And the sheer variety having 30 characters to choose from is significant, makes it easier to find faves that suit your style than a roster of 14, and feeling less guilty for skipping some you don't take to as much.
But for now? OP Musou is extremely mediocre. Seriously, hold out and wait for the inevitable sequel. It WILL be coming. The game sold gangbusters in Japan, and its Koei. There will be a sequel. Wait for it.
Or at least for the price on this to drop significantly.

@RobbyBevard:
I unlocked all the characters, played through all their stories, leveled them up to get all their moves.
To be fair. That's misleading people into actually thinking each of the characters have stories. Instead of just being the same levels arranged so Robin plays on Saboady and Enies Lobby and Hancock plays on Marineford. There's not really any specific storyline for each one XD I think this was the problem I had with the game. Chars were there but once you'd played through Luffy's you'd already done it all. And the other arcs felt so lazy. Enies Lobby should have been different if you were playing as Zoro or Robin or Chopper or Usopp. Instead it was the same thing. no Sogekig till you finished the level. Robin, instead of needing rescuing was fighting alongside. No Monster Chopper etc.
-
Yeah… Brook's story is an amazing one level long. Big whoop.
-
Now that's what you call a thorough answer. Thanks a bunch, Robby. Definitely listening to your advice.
-
@RobbyBevard:
Yeah… Brook's story is an amazing one level long. Big whoop.
Yeah the lack of Thriller Bark didn't help him.
Though I thought it was funny, when in a sequence Brook was directly speaking it out that the others of the crew skipped telling about how they met him. -
Can someone please confirm if this Europe Collectors edition has English text in the game why it would be Italian only One Piece is much more popular in France and Germany anyway it doesn't even make sense for it to be Italian only.
i have searched the whole internet off for an answer and have e-maild bandai about it but they don't even respond on it …The only Amazon website that still has the li is Amazon France by the way i woudn't care if the pakage was france or italian as long as the text from the game can be set on english but this is like the most unclear thing ever.
-
Usually all European territories include english text.

I know but from what i have seen it doesn't seem to be the case now if i have to go by all websites that i have visited today it caused me a headache …
-
What makes you believe it doesn't, no sites telling you? Most don't in regards to that.
-

Well it isn't listed that it is anyway and some ebay sellers say it might have english text so i kinda don't know what to do now.
-
It probably will, but if you want to be sure wait until it releases for confirmation.
-
English text. Japanese dialogue.
-
Just bought the Limited Edition from Amazon France since i saw on Amazon.de that it has English Text it wasn't in stock there anymore but since there wasn't even a German LI either there should only be one it looked like this now : Italienisch, Japanisch, Englisch, Italienisch so that should be fine i'm so excited i don't think Amazon.fr ships games outside of europe but for those who can get it at Amazon.fr while you still can.
-
I might not get it, haven't decided, huge fan of HnK but didn't like the recent game.
I'm glad we are getting a US release, but I'm just not into musou.
Now get me a grandbattle game and well I'm set.
-
Alright. I'll get the special edition if it can be imported for less than 100$. Let me know if you guys find a site, please!

Wish you luck with that i payed 90 euro's for it that's far over 100 dollars already and the ones on ebay go up to 150 pounds with shipping.
-
I meant the Italian Special Edition, not the Japanese one.
-
Well yeha i was talking about the Italian

A One Piece game coming to America! Holy Shit!

Not really no. It would be just foolish to buy a PS3 for this game.
-
Not really no. It would be just foolish to buy a PS3 for this game.
It is true that for a great gamer like you this game probably isn't that good, but for normal people like me or the one or other One Piece fan this game might be just great enough to buy a PS3 only for this. The main thing here is probably not the game, but One Piece and our support for the franchise outside Japan. I mean, I've already played this game and for me it was just awesome, the best One Piece game I've ever played, and I've played plenty! I also loved the graphics, the music and the gameplay.
Maybe that is because I've only played one Warriors title so far, but how many of us here in this forum have played like all Warriors games out there, besides you and a few others? So please, don't always say so many pessimistic things towards the people who want to buy this game and who want to consider this game awesome! Everyone has their own opinion, wether a game is good or not is subjective after all!
-
Not really no. It would be just foolish to buy a PS3 for this game.
I agree with OPF
Also: I used to be a gamer in the past and the last console I bought me was a PS2, after that I started working/with Uni and ever since I rarely bought me a game, especially when the PS2 was set down. However, I purchased a PS3 for this OP game (though meanwhile I bought me some other great PS3 Games like MGS, Assassins Greed RE etc). It might be right to say it's not worth buying such an costly console just for (this) one game, but since this Musou game sold pretty good in Japan (there even was an record in the number of sales for a PS3 game in Japan, if I remember correctly) it won't be the last OP game realeased for a PS3.
So I would say, yes go on, buy a PS3. Yes, Musou wasn't that great (it almost has no replay value..), but great enough for any fan to be played and like I said, I'm sure it won't be the last OP game for a PS3. And even if your not a gamer, if you have a PS3 once already, you still can give it a try and try out a few other great games out there and if your absolutely not interested in any other games, I recommend to buy at least an used PS3 to keep the costs down, so you won't regret it later on… -
Regardless of how big a fan of you are of a certain franchise and want to buy a licensed game of said franchise, in this case being One Piece, to support it outside of Japan, buying a console for one game is one of the most idiotic worthless wasteful investments you could ever make.
Personally, the game looks meh. I'm not a fan of Musou games in general and the only OP games I ever liked were the Grand Battle line and Pirates Carnival albeit not as much that one was just because it was a fun time-wasting mini-game party game.
It'll probably never happen but I really want a new Grand Battle. I liked the chibi style and the Power-Stone fighting style and mechanics. -
I noticed zavvi have the UK version of it down to £25 already on their pre-order. Although they're kinda meh when it comes to sending things out so
-
for £25 i'm willing to wait a little
-
So, Do we have an exact release date? I will need at least 50 dollars to buy this and that requires planning
