I'm pretty sure that they didn't include all of the arcs because they want to make a second game and even with that one expect some of the arcs to be skipped

Sorry if this has been asked before (i know it has), but will the EU version's trophies work perfectly fine on a USA account? And are there any trophies that require going online or for multiplayer? Im just curious because im on the fence about downloading it or buying it. (anybody know a cheap place to buy the EU version too?)

IIRC you need to play with people online to get certain coins for a trophy
-
Game's entertaining, but Unlimited is 10x better.
-
For each person you play online with, you get a special coin. You need three of the coins to make the "The Crew's Bond" skill, which is needed to complete the "Let's Scram, We've Got the Loot!" trophy and yeah, you have to get that trophy to get the one for completing the trophy collection.
-
Ah, thanks for the reply guys. Guess im going to stick with the DL version then, gotta clear a ton of space though (goodbye infamous)
-
It's an 11 GB download.
I'm going to stream some OP musou now: www.twitch.tv/suparstarx
-
note on the online coins, they have to be registered friends to get the coin. so if you have to play w random strangers, you need to play a level, friend request, then play ANOTHER level as friends to get it.
-
Are we allowed to post our psn names if so my name is Millz1209 add me if not I guess delete my post game is fun so far worth my 50 bucks it is tedious but as a one piece fan I enjoy it ..wish they made a disc copy for the US meh maybe for a sequel
-

No, if you friend them while in the lobby and they accept before you beat the level you can get their coin
-
I just beat Don Krieg, love it. I'm Captain_Zek on the PSN, add em folks, I want your medals!!….I mean...coins...
-
Does anyone know if the will sell the psn card for one piece because my ps3 doesn't let me download anything
-
I believe I wont be able to buy the game until next week so I hope you all are still playing and my PSN name is in my sign if someone wants to add me
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sorry for the double post but I need to vent, looks like I wont be able to buy the game in the PSN because is not out in any latinamerican country and we have no clues if it will ever come out so I dont know what to do, should I scream, laugh or cry?
-
^ Neither, you order the European version.
-
@Zek:
^ Neither, you order the European version.
Where is the cheapest to import? Do they ship to México?
-
what the F! just found out that this game is only available as a digital download in the USofA, shit sucks. not the same without a hard copy of the game. i know i can buy it european but it's still not the same. damn you 4kids for ruining one piece for all of us americans!
-
@The:
damn you 4kids for ruining one piece for all of us americans!
Wait what? I know 4Kids made an impression but considering how long it's been since their reign ended it's not THAT relevant.
Also I'm surprised to see this game is one of the top PS3 games on gamefaqs considering all the PSN-only hate.
-
most of the anger in my post came from the fact that we didn't get a hard copy for distribution in the US. Who else is there to blame for one piece not being as popular (aside from the general public) i blame 4kids, though i do give them credit for trying

4kids has been so long ago I don't blame them of anything. Really people should just learn to get with the program and update their stupid memory if they're still stuck with 4kids impression of english One Piece.
I rather blame Namco Bandai (or Bamco) like I always do when I find out the game I want end up either not coming out or coming out as a psn only.
Now for something unrelated… 50$? You kidding me? At that price it would prefer having the disc version also.
-
But the disc version would be 60$ anyway here. It's literally the price of any last gen or Wii game, which this is clearly neither.
-

Wait what do you mean aside from the general public? "One Piece" is less popular with or without 4Kids, it's just that 4Kids made it worse. You still have that art-style that conflicts with the American perception of what an action/adventure cartoon should be. It doesn't really have that "exotic" look and feel that many American anime fans specifically crave, the kind of aesthetic that got them into anime in the first place. It's kind of slow-paced. How about that it didn't come out when BitTorrent popularity of anime and the advent of simulcasts both began? It never got much of a scanlation push back in the day. If you wanna compare it to "Naruto", "One Piece" is more about collectivism whereas "Naruto" is more about individualism. Guess which one is more relatible to Japanese people and which more to Americans.
Aside for the FUNImation dub not being on mainstream American T.V (yes I'm not denying that 4Kids was a big issue)., "One Piece" is doing quite well for itself. It's one of THE most popular anime/manga franchises in America at the moment. I mean lately it's been beating "Bleach" on Hulu, it's come a long way.
So quit blaming 4Kids already! >:(

Does Namco Bandai do stuff like that a lot? It's also worth noting that the last "Dynasty Warriors" came out on PSN in America only too.
And if it means anything, wouldn't you have to pay $60 if it was on a disk?
-

Namco Bandai were (not sure if they are still) well known for their "No export for you" kind of attitude when it came to some types of games (sometimes properly) judged "not liked by americans". I'm just still peeved about that, call it bad blood between us if you will. I don't know how many 2D jrpg I missed thanks to that company. >.<
Now that I think about it. I'd probably not buy the game for 60$ since I am cheap as hell and rarely buy a game with launch price. Still, I'm pretty sure I would've been able to find a store selling the disc for 30% off by the time xmas/boxing day came around.

I coulda sworn I did a post regarding this earlier. But surely this is due to past sales of games causing the companies to think twice. It's not just Namco Bandai. If I recall America had to kick and scream just to get Xenoblade since Nintendo didn't think it was going to sell well. (I dont think they even have Pandora's Tower or Last Story yet) IIRC the most recent Warriors Orochi was download only too.
At least you're getting it in some form. They coulda just skipped over America again like they did for most of the others

Nintendo releasing "Xenoblade" wasn't the result of American fan demand, they just evaluated it and decided it would sell X amount of copies. Still, it's awesome it came out here after all the hubbub. Also we got "Last Story" from I believe XSeed. Another, smaller publisher got the rights.
And I agree we should be satisfied we got it at all considering the status of "One Piece" games here.

Oh no, don't be mistaken. I know all about the sales and unpopularity of both previous one piece games and the whole musou genre is most likely the main reason we're not getting a fully translated disc version. I mean come on, it's pretty OBVIOUS. And I am happy to get it in some form or the other.
I just really enjoy blaming Namco Bandai at times kinda like how people like blaming 4kids for no reasons. Call me a hater if you will.
Also just because we are satisfied with what we have doesn't mean we can't talk/hope about getting something else.

hey if any one wants to play online my name is' black-leg_jex' without the quote marks. i don't mind playing for fun or just to get the trophy

This game did a pretty great job at reanimating the great scenes from the series, like the Sakura scene with Chopper and Merry's funeral. This game also has the best control setup for any One Piece game I've ever played.
-
If you wanna compare it to "Naruto", "One Piece" is more about collectivism whereas "Naruto" is more about individualism. Guess which one is more relatible to Japanese people and which more to Americans.
I could write an essay on how wrong I think you are. I think this is a terrible statement, but defending my opinion would take too much time that I don't have.

Agreed. It is really cool to see the scenes remade. The gameplay, on the other hand, is just terrible. I don't know how anyone could like this better than the Unlimited series, except for the improved graphics.

Is that what they call they extra bounce placed on Nami and seeing her undies? I'm kidding, the game does have improved graphics.

tits = graphics. Since 2004. Catch up, Jet.

Then movie 7 must've been the best graphics movie ever. With movie 8, 10 and 11 following close behind. I have learned something new today. Thank you Zephray.

yeah, atari porn has some of the best graphics I've ever seen
look at those PIXELS -
Any word on US DLC?
-
Will they sell these cards or whatever they're called?
because my ps3 won't let me download anything with my credit card :(
-
You'll probably need the PSN money cards to deposit them in your PSN wallet to buy it there, all PSN-like…PSN.
-
Been playing this game all weekend. It's been really great so far. Still have a lot to go.
-
I have to admit that I do enjoy the graphics in this game. I still use the backdrop of Robin that was included as my desktop theme since she looks so nice. Loved the smoke effects on Franky's attacks and Chopper's fuzziness too.
-

Wait, so the only way you can defend your opinion is through an essay? C'mon I really wanna hear what you have to say, how long does your post really have to be? Besides we're talking cartoons, and you haven't even stated your opinion before you got to the defending part.
Anyway, I've read and watched most of "One Piece" up to where the latest episode/chapter is and I'm only almost done with the first season of "Naruto" and looked into/seen snippets here and there later down the line in the story. So I probably got more ahead of me that I should wait and judge upon. But from what I've seen of both series so far, I'll stick by my opinion. Also I've heard other people state that same sentiment several times in the past, I think the first time I heard it was actually in a thread on AP discussing why "Naruto" is more popular in the West and why "One Piece" is more popular in Japan.

Gosh, I really don't want to get into a debate about it, but here's a brief version of my thinking.
One Piece isn't about 'collectivism', it's about the individual forming trust and relationships with others. Summing it up to be of the 'collective' mindset is just too easy, and not true.
Naruto about the individual? I don't think so. I've only read 200 chapter of Naruto, but there was little about the individual explored in that time. You're mixing 'individual themes' with characters being more on their own, without so much support, friendship, and interest in trust.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
As for addressing why US generally likes Naruto more than One Piece:
Ask any anime fan. What're they more interested in than anything else in an anime? Fighting. They like fights. Naruto is 90% fights, 10% story. (once again, I'm only speaking on the first 200 chapters, which is when it was more popular in the states anyways). One Piece is more like 30/70. American teens like violence and fighting, not themes and plot-driven narrative. They don't want to think when they sit down in front of that tv.
-
So after downloading this game… was there any reason for this game to be 11 gigs? I'm not really seeing one.
That said, it's pretty fun. The camera has to be hardest boss in the game, I can't even keep a boss in plain sight if I run the opposite direction from them or dash to a side.
Syrup Village must be really unpopular in Japan, a lot of games skip over it.
-

Maybe cus Kuro wasn't so memorable as opposed to a lot of the others. I think the only reason we still see Krieg is due to it being Sanji's joining and the battle with Mihawks. I hope to see Kuro in the next game. Jango would be fun too.
-
In Belgium we still have a delay of a month before the game is here for some reason :/

I also hope we'll see Kuro next time around. He's one of my favorite villains in the series. At least we'll see him in Romance Dawn though.
Anyways speaking of a sequel, isn't it getting close to time for it to be announced? I know Robby's given us the typical Dynasty Warriors schedule a few times but I can never remember it.

It took a while for the FoTNS sequel to be announced so…. I'd give it 4-5 months.
